My Friend Has Sore Throat Which Made Her Cough Blood Stuffy Nose Extremely Hot Fever No

Sore throat, flu/cold medicine?

Those are not going to cure you, but only give your temporary relief.

I suggest gargling with hot salt water and then suck on a hard candy or menthol. I suggest getting plenty of liquids and also getting your sinuses to dry up. Usually a sore throat is caused from the nasal drip. Now mind you keep an eye on your throat. If it gets worse or you see white pockets or really sore red then it could be strep throat which needs to be treated or else it can come back again.

For now try some hot teas with lemon and honey. I wouldn't worry too much until tomorrow and see how you are feeling.

Also any kind of Aspirin or Ibuprofen can help with pain too or motrin.

Hope you feel better soon.

My throat hurts so bad that I can barely swallow?

Well, maybe I'm over exaggerating, but it hurts super bad. It's not like a little sore throat, it's basically like a knife is going through it when I swallow. I'm not vomitting, although I coughed up a square up blood last night, and my nose isn't stuffy. Yesterday I couldn't go into any room without a blanket, or else I would have goose bumps all over me, and I would be shaking, but I think that's because I only had 1 hour of sleep. But now my throat pain has really intensified, so I'm wondering what it might be. My dad is a chiropractor and specializes in alternative medicine, so right now I'm doing that route. I don't plan to go to a walk-in clinic, but I would just like to ask someone what it sounds like I have.

P.S. I have no symptoms, I think, of strep.

How do you get rid of a sore throat?

Sore throats usually last between 1 to 3 days.  You can't get rid of the swollen red throat tissues permanently, but you can make it feel better now and then until it is gone.A lot of things that seem to make your throat feel better short term (e.g. hot chocolate, soup, tea, orange juice, popsicle, etc...) actually end up making the pain worse in the long run because they are irritating the tissues, you just can't tell while it is feeling better for a bit.For instance, a long time ago a doctor told me to gargle with water and a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide in it, assuming it would kill the virus/bacteria and thus lead to a better feeling throat.  It does kill stuff, which probably makes the sore throat not last as long, but it doesn't help much with the pain. So, the #1 suggestion is usually gargling several times with water (slightly warmer than room temperature) with a tiny bit of salt in it (just like the dentist tells you to do for inflamed gums) and that is also supposed to sooth the throat tissues.  (Not sure how long this lasts pain wise, but you can do this as often as necessary.)The science behind why salt water is supposed to work:When a part of the body is hurt, chemicals are released to dilate the smallest blood vessels in that area. This widening of the vessels functions to increase blood flow which also allows fluid containing infection-fighting cells to leak into the hurt area (we know this as swelling).Salt water rinses reduce swelling through osmosis. As the salt water rinse bathes the swollen tissue there is a much higher concentration of salt than that contained within the tissue itself, it’s time for osmosis to do what it does best (restore balance).Osmosis functions to equalize the concentration of salt on both sides of the tissue cell membrane. Since salt molecules are too large to pass through the permeable membrane, it has no choice but to allow some of the excess fluid to leak out.  Less fluid inside the tissue means less pressure. Less pressure means less pain.Other usual things like anti-inflammatory meds (Advil, Aleve etc...) and vitamin C might help the sore throat not last as long, but they won't make it feel better immediately.  And of course the more water you drink and the more sleep you get the less you will suffer overall with the sore throat and the nose/chest problems that usually follow it.

Have you ever been sore (muscles) after a cold?

This last few days ive had a pretty bad cold, and it hardly let me sleep.
This morning i felt like it was nearly all gone.

When i went to work on something however, my shoulders stung in several spots.

Is this just your body waking back up?

My friend is really sick...?

She believes she has tonsillitis again, because it's her fourth time. Her left tonsil is swollen. She has a sore throat, fever, she's shaking/ feels fatigued, nauseous, and she says she has hot tears if that helps. Please, she needs some remedies! :(

What's the difference between a cold and a flu?

The differences? Do you mean the symptoms? The simpliest answer is: When you have a cold, you don't have a fever. When you have the flu, you do.

A cold and the flu are both caused by a virus, but they are entirely different kinds of virus. There is really no medicine that a doctor can prescribe for either one.

A cold will cause a stuffy nose, possibly a sore throat, and coughing or sneezing; but you are still able to go on about your daily business.
The flu will cause fever, shivering, body aches, possible nausea, difficulty breathing, weakness, headache, and heavy coughing. In other words, with the flu, you will feel like krap for about 5 or 6 days, and all you'll want to do is lie in bed and sleep.

Which medicine is best for a fever?

Hi,Fever , mostly, is accompanied by throat pain, stomach pain or any other infection erupting in your body. For fever that is a result of any infection in your body, using medicines to cure that infection can help you cure fever. Also, you may have heard of medicines like paracetamol, crocin, dolo etc. They are all pain relief medicines which aids in relieving the pain and thereby result in dropping the temperature down. The best thing that you can do for fever is that you have lots of liquids (water, nariyal pani, home made juices) and home cooked food.
