How to Make a Beautiful Life

Love yourself,
Make peace with who you are
And where you are
At this moment in time.

Listen to your heart.
If you can't hear what it is saying
In this noisy world,
Make Time for yourself.
Enjoy your own company.
Let your mind wander among the stars.

Try.
Take Chances.
Make Mistakes.
Life can be messy
And confusing at times,
But it's also full of surprises.
The next rock in your path might be a stepping-stone.

Be Happy.
When you don't have what you want
Want what you have.
Make Do.
That's a well kept secret of contentment.

There aren't any shortcuts to tomorrow.
You have to make your own way
To know where you are going,
Is only part of it.
You need to know where you've been too.
And if you ever get lost, don't worry.
The people who love you will find you.
Count on it!
Life isn't days and years.
It's what you do with time
And with all the goodness and grace
That;s inside you
MAKE A BEAUTIFUL LIFE.....
The kind that you deserve.
I Love You.

With unconditional Love,
Mom Feb 2006

My friend who likes me wrote me this poem its amazing! what do u think?

A thousand fair suitors all stab at your heart
Those poets of movement and jockeys of art
The high-volume vendors who hustle romance
Splashing their canvas with color and dance

The blasters of trumpets, gold banners unfurled
They offer lush gardens in glistening worlds
Yes, bearers of torches and carvers of stone
Who whisper their sonnets and surrender their thrones

And there in your doorway, no shadow is cast
No lingering voices, no ghosts from the past
Just a cluster of walls, and a window of pain
Collecting the heartache like droplets of rain

Still I stand before you, with palms to the sky
No gold in my pocket, no thorn in my side
And all I can offer, where words have no place
Is a body that trembles, and this love that awaits

i still dont know how i feel about him, im confused, and he's asked me out a bunch of times, ehh i dont know...

Based on this poem my friend wrote, is He Conservative, Liberal, or What?

I have my ideas. But my friend sent me this poem, and asked me what it was evident of; what ideology it might closely fit with. I asked my philosophy teacher, and he feels it's something an Anarchist would say.

What do you guys think?
Here it is:
Quotes
Societies standards judge me. I'm not free.
Excessive authority judges me. I'm not free.
You sit there and obey. You're not free.
You do what they tell you to do. You're not free.
You wont stand up because you feel you can't change the system. .
...I will not submit, i will not oblige, i will not appease, i am not you.
I will fight for my liberty till my last breath leaves me.
And if you choose to stand idly by and go with the flow,
then i'll make sure my last breath is used cursing your name
before i ever curse the authority that shackles me
I will curse your very existence
Cuz those who do nothing to stop tyranny
are the greatest allies to tyranny
The world's ever seen.

Now is not a problem. What you should do next is more important. So,here it goes:Write down your poem.Read it again and again and edit it.When you feel it is done, take a moment to think how wonderfully you have nourished your talent.Start loving yourself.Don't tell anyone, not your friends and not even your family or siblings. But what is the point of holding back your talent which you are confident of? You have that rare talent which needs to be made immortal! Thanks to technology, you have got internet!Go to blog sites: WordPress, Blogger etc and create your own blog.Make a blog on Quora as well. Well, they allow you!Keep posting.People will start reading your stuff. You will start getting followers...though very slowly initially. The first follower will be very special as it will motivate you.Now its very important here for you to understand that this is not "publicity"...this is a "demonstration" of your talent.Time will pass...a month...a year maybe and you will have decent number of followers. This friend of yours will try his misplaced sense of sarcasm on you by asking about your latest poem collections. Needless to say, he will smirk. And then you will say with a dramatic pause: "Check out my blog...Its all there!"Your friend will be like:Shocked! And you will be like:"The ultimate rockstar!"So, go ahead and start writing your poems. As the folks say- "If you have got it then flaunt it!"Pic Courtesy : GoogleImages

He wrote me a poem. What does it mean?

I'm 17 almost 18. He's almost 27. We've been really close friends for almost 3 years. We tell each other everything and about a year ago, he expressed to me that he likes me as more than a friend. At first, I kind of friend-zoned him, but now I'm really starting to consider pursuing a relationship with him.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. He's been married once before. Their relationship was unstable and destructive and it tore his life apart. He also has a kid. Now he's seeing this other woman, let's call her Mary, who's almost as hurtful as his ex-wife. He goes out of his way to make her feel like she's the most important thing in his life, but she never does anything in return. He's told me that he's getting to the point where he's ready to just drop her and move on.

Now, throughout his relationship with Mary, he still continues to hint to me that he would much rather be with me. But as of right now, we both understand that him and I cannot be. The other day he wrote me this poem and I am NOT the analytic type so I didn't really understand what it meant. Here's the poem:

"After the chill of winter has left us, after the rains of spring have gone, when the proud green grass begins to wither under relentless Texas sun; when we hide from the heat and light in our artificial fall, Therein might I find what could be found after all."

Does anybody have any idea what this means? And when I say I'm NOT the analytic type, I mean NOT AT ALL. I need an in-depth explanation to fully be able to understand.

Thanks so much! Any answers are helpful and much appreciated.

P.S. I'm also open to any thoughts or advice you guys might have on this whole situation. :)

My guy friend acts nervous around me.?

No, yours is fine. I've read longer, and no, it's not like a 5th grader. Your is kept simple and to the point so it's very understandable.

Anyway, he really likes you. He's afraid of saying or doing the wrong things when he's around you. Since you rejected him, he's really heart broken and doesn't want to throw it out there like he does his gf.

I can understand. My best guy friend hardly opens up to me because I've rejected him few times. I sometimes just wish he could just talk to me as a friend (be himself) instead of just flirty or trying to impress me all the time. Haha.

Hello! Demi Lovato - Heartattack, boy.

Like someone has already said here, there can't be a best or 10 best. There can be the best for each of us.Here's my 10 in no particular order. If - Rudyard KiplingIf ever there was advice that is appropriate for all ages and times, this is it. Worded as advice from a father to his son, this serves as a must read for every teenager on the cusp of adulthood. Every time I get beaten by the machination that is life, this poem gives me perspective. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner - Samuel Taylor ColeridgeThis ballad never fails to amaze me however many times I read it. The simplicity of language, the conciseness and choice of words that're suggestive of things to come and the use of sounds always floor me.Where the Mind is Without Fear - Rabindranath TagoreTalk of an inspiring poem. The vision this man had for his country. So simple. So pure. Makes me regret not knowing Bengali to appreciate the original in its full glory.Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening - Robert FrostThe last two lines of this poem have served as motivation during all the times I've been close to giving up on things. Beautiful in its simplicity.A Psalm of Life - Henry Wadsworth LongfellowSurprisingly, I had not come across the poem till I was required to teach it. A psalm it truly is. Contains the essence of the Bhagavad Gita in simple terms.Success is Counted Sweetest - Emily DickinsonThis might not seem like much at first glance but anyone who has ever longed for appreciation (which I think, is all of us, some perhaps, yet to) will get this. It has shaped my handling of the so-called back benchers or the quieter, unnoticed ones in class, to a great extent. How do I Love Thee? - Elizabeth Barrett BrowningCan there be a better wedding vow? Enough said. The Village Schoolmaster - Oliver GoldsmithThe poem that drove me to teaching. The sort of perfect (perhaps not ideal) picture the poem paints of a school master and how the children think of him, is so beautiful. We are Many - Pablo NerudaNeruda can soothe. Neruda can taunt. Neruda can empathize. Neruda can get you in ways no one can. And hence, every time you read one of Neruda's works, you end up seeing new meaning, depending on where you are in life. This one is one of his gems.Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night - Dylan Thomas       'Though wise men at their end know dark is right,        Because their words had forked no lightning they        Do not go gentle into that good night.'Wow. Just wow.

Recently ,I dedicated this poem to one of my friend on her Birthday :)Above & Beyond - Happy Birthday!Be it a selfie day,or routine office day, your smile goes above & beyondthe duty of the day!Be it a Friday or a hard to get up Monday, your style goes above & beyondthe duty of the day!May you keep smiling,May you keep enjoying, everyday above & beyondthe duty of the day,Wish you a smiling,and,fun-full-filling wala Happy Birthday :)

I have wrote like 1 or 2 love poems for my ex , She did enjoy them but it is actually hard to create on your own. You have to make sure the poem is of correct length and actually flows, not just that it rhymes. You have to make it personal and have a good theme on it. Now I am not a Poet and I presume that your boyfriend isn’t either if he had to copy it from the internet. Now, here is where you take everything into consideration. He evidently loves you if he tried to to give you a poem. Now the concern is with copying from the internet and saying that he wrote it.Here’s my response to that,Think of when you go to the store to buy a Birthday card or an Valentine’s Day card, you go to the Store and immediately go to that section with rows upon rows of cards. You stand there and stare at the cards, you look at a couple and then you find the one card that fits for that person, which you feel closely attached to because it represents the words that you sometimes can’t say.Now take that thought and bring it from the view of your BF. He found a poem that he very much liked and thought that it would make you smile or help brighten your mood. He felt attached to that poem so much that he wrote it down and gave it to you. To him that poem held a meaning, that he felt was worth giving to you. Now he might have said that he wrote it because he doesn’t want to feel embarrassed or that he didn’t put time into it. Maybe he tried writing one but couldn’t figure it out as I gave up myself a couple times before I completed my poems. Always try to think of things in their view, as in their shoes. He does love you but maybe this poem best reflected the way he felt and he wanted to make you happy. Give your BF a break and be happy he thinks highly of you enough so to give you a poem. I hope this helps :)

When a person writes a poem about somebody else then this is considered a sign of true affection. ANY person who doesn't understand THAT does NOT deserve to be in your universe. It's as simple as that. Therefore: Your guy will most likely appreciate this and if he has the heart at the right place then he should actually even be quite touched by that. Believe me: To receive a poem from a girl about oneself is a VERY special thing and if he's worth anything he will remember this for the rest of his life. Most guys on this planet do NOT get such a poem! IF he cannot appreciate this special gift THEN he's an unfeeling oaf who deserves a kick in his ass to remind him of this fact...So, go ahead and see if he's the right stuff!Good luck! ;)
