My Friends All Like Better Music Than Me

My friends make fun of the music I listen to?

they all listen to hip hop and rap music nowadays by the way we are in high school. I listen to rock and metal and they judge me for it saying my music sucks
They listen to
Iggy azalea or whatever that is
Yg
Tyga
Lil wayne
Miley Cyrus
Flo rida
August Alsina
Nickj Minaj
And etc

I listen to music such as
Children of bodom
A7X
RHCP
Black sabbath
guns n roses
Korn
Marilyn Manson
Metallica
Ozzy
The cure
Dethklok
Etc
Does my music suck? Is their music better than mine?

My friends say I have a bad taste in music. I dont?

Well, they just hate it because I have a variety of original bands that I like. Do you think i have a bad taste in music?

Here are some of my favorite bands

Fall Out Boy (really cant go wrong here)
Panic! At The Disco (pretty original)
My Chemical Romance (best band this decade)
All Time Low (excellent pop punk)
The Starting Line (really good)
We The Kings (also really good)
Lostprohpets (some of my fave underground)

Sometimes I'm in a grunge and post-grunge mood and listen to these bands

Nirvana (complex guitar playing and deep lyrics)
David Cook (pretty good and original)
Daughtry (one of the most original rock bands)
Nickelback (not as good as daughtry but yeah)
Creed (kinda good)
3 Doors Down (have some original songs)
Collective Soul (pretty original)
Lifehouse (original)

Sometimes I'm in a classic rock mood and listen to

Led Zeppelin (if you're looking for the best classic rock, he's your guy)
AC/DC (different sounding songs are a yes)
Guns N Roses (I love the long hair dude)
Wolf Mother (pretty underground but not that bad)

As you can see, since my friends are just stupid and listen to that corporate rock **** like Jonas Brothers and God Speed You! Black Emperor, i have a good taste in music. Agree?

Should I try to change my taste in music if none of my friends like the same music as me? Why?

Friendships are not just about the music (or books or movies). You sound pretty young (correct me if I'm wrong) and maybe you haven't learned yet that different friends have different "uses" so to speak. So for example, I have a few best friends that I love talking to regarding personal issues in my life, and I love to share my new "secret" plans and ideas with them, and they're very supportive of me. They're the ones I call first when I have any kind of serious issue. Then I have friends that I share hobbies with. We play boardgames and visit conventions and swap books & comics. They're my "geek buddies" but not close friends.Similar to my geek buddies, there are several people with whom I share my taste in music, and we go to concerts together.Sometimes it was hard to find a person who loves the same musician as I do, so on a few occasions I went to the concert myself. That's cool, too. But I prefer having a company. If you're close to your friends regardless of your music taste, there's nothing wrong with that. But you can still look around and meet new friends who will share your love of music.

Why is music considered a friend?

its said - one should never underestimate the power of music.or if i put it in better words, the healing power of music.when is it that we need our friends the most? almost in every phase of our lives, but when facing adverse times, who do you wana share your issues with? a friend ofcoz!!!listen to music in those times, whatever be your genre, music is beyong limits, it gives you a pump, an adrenaline rush, a sense of self believe and what notbut dont just go by what is being saidtime to give it a try !!!P.S. - for the time being keep those romantic songs at bay and try out self motivating ones.

My friend thinks I listen to bad music?

My friend thinks that the music i listen to is bad and depressing. I am not forcing my music taste on her, but if she ever hears the music that i'm listening to she just thinks that im crazy. And i think she is absolutely insane, here is why:
the music i listen to:
The Doors, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Who, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, The Stooges, The Ramones (sometimes), Mando Diao, The Animals, Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Alice In Chains, The Beatles... Roling Stones...Lead Belly........... and on...
The music she listens to:
Michael buble, Colbie Caillat, John Mayer, Lady Gaga, Beyonce (she is good), Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift... basically everything mainstream, and she also listens to people who make song like Colbie Caillat, with those slow songs on acoustic.... Also, on American idol season 8, she wanted Kris Allen to win, instead of Adam Lambert.... wow

So my real question is: how can i Really get it into her that i listen to good music? and it is not depressing!!!!! oh and im only 13, i know it says that im older on my profile....

One of my friend writes rap songs and his songs are much better than what I hear on TV, but he does not know any music composer or anything related to the music industry. What should be his next step to take a public platform?

YouTube.Remember her-Who is she?She is Shraddha Sharma, self made singer who now has 178k fans on YouTube because she loved singing and uploaded various Bollywood song covers. You can check her profile or her official YouTube channel @Shraddharockin and will know she is doing great. For an upcoming singer/entertainer/rapper, YouTube is like Mecca where you don't need any sponsors or rely on other people to give you your break. If you (and many others too) believe in your (friends) talent and think he has it in him then all you need to do is create your own YouTube channel, which is btw absolutely for free. With the huge database of users and viewers already on the site, one can never hear the artiste say anything like 'I was not heard' or 'I never got a platform'. Just make sure YOU ARE NOT PLAGIARISING somebody else's work, then you are good to go.Finding work for a rapper in the music Industry will be very difficult if not impossible. In Bollywood, accomplished music directors/composers/lyricist would be apprehensive to give break to another Honey Singh for obvious reasons... No matter how many hits he give, he would still fell short on earning respect from the fraternity. And trying your luck in Hollywood would be even more difficult because of the sheer no. of budding singers that are already dying to give themselves a break. It's cut throat business friend. And if you don't have much source or network or contacts who know this network in the related surrounding, you would never be able to get a foothold in the music Industry. So YouTube, seems the most viable option where you can find your own identity. Also share your work on as many social networking sites because most of the viral YouTube uploaders got famous on other sites first such as Reddit and Digg etc. Extra is always better than nothing. And during all of this, don't forget to try your chance in the music industry too...just in case.

Why do I feel like all of my friends are smarter than me at the same major?

Believe me, they are not smarter than you. Only one problem is, what they speak in front of you is what you don’t know. If you want to test it, learn something newly regarding your subjects and talk to them, No one will even open the mouth.“The difference between master and beginning is the time, more time you spend, more you learn.”

My boyfriend loves music more than me cuz he said so!!?

You have to let your guy do his own thing, but if you're lonely because he's working long hours at a time and you don't see him, what's the point in having a relationship? I want a guy that can make me satisfied, and if I'm not happy with him, that doesn't make me satisfied, does it?
