My Gsd Puppy Is 3 And Half Months Age .

Can I feed my 2-month-old German Shepherd puppy eggs?

Yes there's nothing wrong with eggs for dogs above 2 months….eggs are easy to digest, taste good and very very healthy. They're a good source of fat, protein and heat.Although don't give a bunch of eggs. For starters only 1 egg a day for two weeks and later you can increase it gradually up to 3 to 5 eggs a day within a period of 4 monthsNote that eggs should only be given as a treat or a snack meal and not as a proper lunch/dinner. Also, the egg should be hard boiled for a 2 month pupper. You can mash the egg and mix it with plain steam boiled rice or mix it with his dog food he'll love it.Cheers

I have a german shepherd puppy, he is 6.5 months old. He eats less then what i thought he is suppose to eat?

I give him royal canin german shepherd puppy food. I follow the instructions of the weight and age for my puppy and feed him 3 times accordingly. According to the food feeding chart on the bag, he does not eat 1/3rd of his food per day. I leave the food for him, he eats very slowly. whole serving he eats in around 4 to 5 hours and some times he does not finish.

He is doing healthy, and very playful and active. i find him little tin but nothing close to worrisome. His weight is 55 pounds at 6.5 month, which is perfect for a male german shepherd. But please let me know if i have to worry about him not eating all of his dog food?

everyday i give him some beef in dinner.

How far can my 5 month old German Shepherd puppy run/jog before it gets dangerous?

I'm so glad you're not an idiot and researched the breed and know you can't over exercise GSD pups! Congratulations you have 90% of the population beat already! I wouldn't run a 5 month old for more than a short burst but a half mile jog should be okay granted the dog comes from parents with good hips and elbows. I wouldn't jog a dog more than half a mile until 18 months of age.

Kay you obviously know nothing about German Shepherd Dogs. Running a 5 or 6 month old pup who's still growing damages their soft joints and CAUSES joint problems such as hip and elbow dysplasia. Some vets link it to pano as well (I'll give you a second to google pano).

-edit- Not offended at all, I just throw it out there so people know what I do. I'm not a "Certified Super Dee Duper Master Trainer"...my paper credentials are titles I've earned and police reports on how many bad guys my dogs have taken down, and how many thousands of pounds of narcotics my dogs have taken off the street! Lol!

I have a 4 month old German shepherd puppy. We run a mile everyday on a pitched road. Is this too much for my young puppy?

Yes it certainly is. A GSD under a year old should never run like this. The general rule is that they should do exactly what they want to do for exercise not be forced. So playing in the garden with another pup is good but playing with an adult dog is ok but only if the pup is taken away before getting to exhausted. It is better if you take your pup out for short walks on the lead of maybe twenty minutes a few times a day. Then you can train your pup to walk to heel, to sit, to down and to stay. No running up and down stairs until your pup is a year old. Don't forget your pup is still a baby and is growing fast. You need to protect its joints so hopefully you can avoid any problems like hip displaysia and elbow problems that might be in the genes. Once your pup is a year old then by all means run with him or her. You just have to be so careful with a young GSD.

What is the best food for a 1-month-old German shepherd puppy?

GSDs are very athletic dogs and their intelligence makes them unique. You can train them to do anything and their ability to stop at command makes them one of the easiest breeds to train. Their wolf like muzzle helps to track offenders in the police force or sniff out drugs or any contraband products. Even as a pet you can train them to be the perfect guard dog.Coming to your Point :Feeding also plays a vital role. I congratulate you for the taking care of German Shepherd . How big will my gsd puppy be?(pic included)?

It's difficult to tell from the angle of the photo. Look at her leg joints. If they look very large in proportion to the rest of her, she is going to be big. If they are only a bit large, she is probably going to be an average size for her breed and sex.

A puppy's color and markings almost always change as he/she matures. Usually, colors become lighter.

What is the best age to buy a German Shepherd puppy?

Glad you have decided to bring happiness at your home!! (I have 4 at my house now).On an average after a month, the pups start to eat. Albeit they are still on mother’s milk and they need it for their sustained growth till 2 months and more.I will give you two scenarios:1) You are in touch with seller: In such case go to his place and select the dog. But don’t yet bring him to your house. Make sure the seller feeds him best puppy food (If I was you, I might go and feed him that on my expense). Best puppy food is not only the packs which are available but also boiled eggs, cartilages (soft), bone soup etc.2) You are not in touch with seller: 2 months I would say, also make sure the pup is de-wormed and rabies vaccine is given to him. Sometimes sellers don’t do it to cut the expenses. Ask for medical card for the proof for the same. Also see neck, ears, paws of puppy for tick, fleas . These are the areas which may have ticks. If 1–2 tick is there, you need not to worry. But if there are plenty don’t buy it. Also see into it the puppy is active andDo let me know, if you want to know about feeding and training instructions when you bring home a puppy!
