My Hdmi To Tv Does Not Work

Why does the HDMI audio not work on my TV but the video does?

Video and audio are intermingled on exactly the same wires in HDMI, so if the video looks fine, the problem isn’t the cable. The audio comes in short bursts in between video frames. The more likely culprit is a mismatch in format between the audio sender and the TV. In HDMI the receiver sends data to the transmitter to tell it what its video and audio decoding capabilities are, and if the transmitter doesn’t respect any limitations (format, bitrate, encoding scheme, number of channels, etc.) the most likely result at the TV end is silence. The only real way to troubleshoot it is:Try a different HDMI input on the TV. I actually had a small Viewsonic TV that only accepted audio on one of its two inputs. This was documented in the manual but is still highly unusual.Try another transmitter device (different brand, model, etc.) and see whether you get different results.Check whether your transmitting device has settings that allow you to force the output audio format to “PCM” since all compliant HDMI receivers are supposed to support (at minimum) 2-channel 48khz PCM audio.

Why does my hdmi cable not work for 4k in windows or xbox?

I tried this with a couple of cables I just recently got a 4k tv but when I go to hook up my computer it will show up in there for a few minutes with wierd static and then go blank or the screen will turn into static. With the xbox the cable will work as normal on HDTV but if I set the xbox to 4k the same thing happens a bunch of static then after a minute it cuts out. I cant even use the computer at all on the 4k tv cause I dont know what settings I could use to set it to HD output so that computer is now useless cause I was mainly and only using it to broadcast to the tv.

What is the problem I really dont want to break my tv. I had a regular tv up until a week or two ago I think it was 720 or 1080 not sure but it had no issues I cant use that tv cause I broke the screen cause I didnt have a stand for it and knocked it over. So what do i do.

If you need any update or info I can add them by answering this btw

Do HDMI to RCA cables work?

Like every other question: it depends.HDMI is a purely digital signal, so there has to be an active signal converter to change from HDMI to the analog signalling for RCA. There’s a couple ways it won’t work.I’ll bet there are companies selling HDMI cables with RCA connectors soldered at one end. They’ll look nice and be cheap but won’t work at all. There are a number of companies selling HDMI to RCA converters that work great as long as the HDMI signal isn’t encrypted. However those are only useful for a small number of HDMI sources. There are HDMI to RCA converters that have the decryption built in. These will do what you want, but they probably have to embed the Macrovision copy protection into the analog signal (at least in the USA).There are also HDMI to RCA converters that decrypt the digital signal and put out a clean analog signal. These are probably mostly illegal in the US, Canada and Europe since they bypass any copy protection.

HDMI port not working on TV?

I have a 10 year old 50" Sony LCD projection TV (yeah, I know it's really old) and the HDMI port, which happens to be the only HDMI port on the TV, suddenly stopped working today. I had an HDMI hub/switch connected to it so I could hook up my PS3, PS4, and PC to it all at once, so I first assumed that the HDMI switch was the problem, but I hooked it up to another TV and used my PS3/PS4/PC and they worked. I also tried using different HDMI cables in hopes that I just had a faulty one, but to no avail. The TV's HDMI port is apparently the problem. When I hook up my PS3 or PS4 directly to the TV, the picture and sound just stutters as if it's struggling to recognize that there is a cable in the HDMI port. HOWEVER, when I hook up my PC to that same port, everything works just fine, which is confusing the heck out of me. I've recently been considering buying a new TV, but I was holding off since there was nothing wrong with my old one. Until now, that is. So, now for my question. Given the age of the TV, is the HDMI port replaceable, and if so, how much would it probably cost to send it in for a repair? The cost of repair (if it's even possible) will determine whether or not I just give in and finally buy a new TV.

My hdmi cable from ps3 to dynex tv will not work?

Change the output resolution to 720P. Make sure your TV is on the right input.

Hdtv does not support hdcp?

That's odd...the 650 series SHOULD support HDCP devices !

So WHY is your device saying it doesn't?

Any chance that device wasn't built on the same continent as the TV set??

That's the only logical deduction I can come up with.

Either way, I'd call Samsung about it, and make sure you know where your device was sold...In Japan or Europe or the US.

HDMI connection not working?

I have Sony TV KDE-42xs955, Sony DVD upconvert and receiver HK AVR 430.
I need your help to find out why my HDMI connection is not working.
Here are my current set up that did not work (no picture):
TV connect to DVD using HDMI cable
DVD connect to Receiver for audio to optical digital input using Toslink cable.
The problem:
I have the sound from speakers but I did not get any picture from TV.
If I connect the TV to DVD using component cable (Monster Cable) then I got picture but it is only display 480p.
Do you know why I did not get any picture if using HDMI?
Did I need to use any other cable?
why it is only display 480p using component cable?
I have checked the DVD setting and it's HDMI setting and is set to auto.
I did not see any TV setting for HDMI except it default to video 6 channel/ port.
Please help me with this problem.

HDMI stopped working on my tv...?

I have a Hannspree 32inch tv. I have owned it for almost 2 years. Up until now I have had no problems with the hdmi channels and have been streaming an xbox 360 and blu-ray player.

So it started when I was playing my xbox as per usual but their were these awful green pixels on the screen. In an effort to get rid of them I swapped cables and hdmi channels with no luck. after swapping hdmi ports it had stopped completely on any of my hdmi ports. no sound, no picture.

So after this I found out my xbox had a busted hdmi port...great. Hdmi was still working with my virgin and blu-ray player, until I plugged the blu ray player up with the same wire as he one my xbox was using and then...nothing. ever since,

Ibhave tried different wires and this has acheived no results I have 4 hdmi ports and all of them display no signal. what I find strange is that when a hdmi wire is plugged into one of the hdmi ports it takes a while to find the signal, so it is detecting something....

not sure ifbthis is fixible or not?

Can I use my PS3 if my monitor or TV doesn't have an HDMI port?

If your television/monitor does not support HDMI inputs and you would like to connect a PlayStation 3 then there are various other options. This article shows you how to link up your PS3 to your television with Component AV, S-Video or Composite connections.PS3 and Component AV - I've used this earlierIf you can’t use an HDMI cable then your next best option is a Component AV Cable. This type of cable is also capable of supporting high definition video and it has five inputs to plug into your television. You will have to purchase the AV cable separately because it is not provided with your console. Simply plug the single end into your PlayStation 3 in the AV Multi Out port and then plug the other jacks into your television where it says Component Video In and Audio In. The individual ports should be labelled Y, PB/CB and PR/CR for video and simply L and R for audio. This cable will give you a high definition signal but it won’t be quite as good as the HDMI. PS3 and S-video - Never tried this beforeYou can look around for a PS3 - S-video connector should look something like thisSo to sum it up, I will prioritize AV over S-video as the quality is similar to HDMICheers!
