My Hitachi Flat Screen Tv Displays Red Green And Blue Colors When I Try To Use Any Input Or Cable

How do I know what to plug the red, yellow, and white cables into?

Usually the outputs and inputs are both labelled and color coded. The video source will have a video out (yellow). Use the yellow cable to plug that into the monitor video in jack (also yellow, generally, but may be green if the component video input is pulling double duty on your monitor). The red and white go from the audio out on your source to the audio in for your speakers (which may also be a part of your TV set).

How do you fix vertical lines appearing on a TCL TV screen?

From the past experience, I know that such things are caused in CRT due to either:a) Loose connections on PCB (circuit board / mother board) with chips / ICsorb) Magnets (X and Y) might be out of alignment or needs replacement (This could be expensive and tougher so needs a serviceman)But with modern TVs, you are better off with the following recommendations:a) SOLVED: How remove colored vertical lines all over screen of my LED TV? - Samsung Televisionb) On youtube:

The picture on my projection tv only displays GREEN. Plz help!?

In a projection TV set there is only ONE bulb. It takes the signal from the circuit board after all processing has been done and displays it on the front projection screen of the TV set very similar to a video projector.

A TV signal is made up for a combination of Red, Blue, Green signals thus RGB, White is a combination of all of the signals.

Are you using composite, or component video input and is the TV set to the correct one? If you are using the "YELLOW" cable from the Xbox 360 to the TV set as your video wire you are using composite, make sure your TV set is set to the Video input and not the RGB one. RGB is for component, separate Red, Green, Blue video wires. Normally these are plugged in to a different port on the back of the TV than the Yellow (composite) video wire, But some sets will accept it as a one color input.

If you can try the other type of input. It could be the input your are using is bad.

It could also be the cord from the Xbox is bad, try a new cord.

You need to see if you have all the colors. A convergence check may or may not give a true indication, as that test comes from PROM chip in the circuit board and is not a processed signal from the video input. If you can send a Red, Blue, Green signal to the TV set and see what color is displayed. This may not be easy without specialized test equipment but if the Xbox can generate a color test signal use it, or if you have a video camera point it at a colored construction paper and look at it on the TV set.

If all else fails TV repairman time.

EDIT>> It could be the X-box that is the problem try it on another TV set (if possible) and see if it shows all the colors.

Good Luck

No red color on my Rear Projection TV?

Oh God Derrick run ....Run from these Wild Guessers before they make you buy another TV set !

I'd rather you spend all your hard - earned money on something else....

IF you are using COMPONENT (5 wire) cables to deliver your picture to your TV set, they have a tendency to slowly disconnect....

And on CRT TV sets, the WORST thing to happen is an open resistor or bad solder connection.....BUT not at 3 years of age.

Check your Component connections on both ends....

BTW....Prices on these so-called "bulbs" have dropped to $50 each, and have been that way for some time now...it's almost like they're having a Fire Sale or Going out of Business Sale....

Gee I wonder why....

Why is my TV turning on by itself?

Some TV's actually have the ability to schedule an auto 'ON' time so you can wake up to your favorite show, etc.  However; unless you bought the TV used or someone else in your home set the feature, this likely isn't the cause. The more likely answer is that most new video devices (set top boxes, BluRay players, AppleTV, Roku, HDTVs, etc) all use HDMI to transmit video.  In addition to video, HDMI also handles encryption (copy protection), auto setup of devices (resolution, color depth settings, etc), audio, ethernet, and sever other functions.  One of the functions is 'control'.  Meaning you turn on your bluray player and it can automatically turn on your TV (and surround receiver if necessary).Typically you can turn this "feature" off.  Check your setup to look for 'HDMI Control' or something similar.  I've found that many set top cable boxes utilize this feature and are setup by default to turn on your TV when the box is turned on.  What happens is the cable provider sends firmware/software updates to their set top boxes and afterward the box powers off and back on so that it can apply the upgrade.  When it turns back on it sends a message via HDMI to your TV to turn on too. Most TV's allow you to disable HDMI control, but some do not.  You can also check the cable box settings and see if you can turn it off within the box.  Lastly you can also try using a different method of sending video from your set top box to your TV such as component video (Red/Green/Blue) which in most cases should provide a video signal that's indistinguishable from HDMI.

How many amps does a TV use? What factors affect that number?

A large screen TV, of 50 or more diagonal display inches can use around 200 W. That would work out to about 1.6 Amps at 120V or 0.8A at 240V.But there will be a large variation among different manufacturers and within a manufacturers range of  models of differing age it may vary greatly with more or less features, display sizes, brightness settings and improved display technology and higher integration of features. For a more accurate answer you will have to specify a model, year and make and the answer will be found in the manufacturers specifications which can often be found on the internet.

Which TV should I buy? VU or LG or Samsung?

I used 3 different brands of led tv’s and music systems.. Based on my experience i will go for more reliable brands than marketed brands. I had LG 47 inch led tv, co brother owned LG 42 inch tv and my brother had Samsung tv.And all tv was 100hz one.. Apart from these we owned Sony home theater and brother had lg home theater .My native home we had panasonic music system as well and my close friend has 55inc Panasonic led tv. Experience as follows… My LG TV started giving no signal issue within 3 years and got repaired spending 4 k. The experience of customer service from LG was pathetic.. It ran another 1 year and this time motherboard gone.. Got repaired by spending 11K from no authorized vendor since LG was charging 35K for replacement of motherboard.. Again another 9months got problem with picture as it shows inverted color image.. Cost for service quoted by LG is 26K..Finally i sold it for 6K and baught Panasonic 55inch led tv.. Panasonic experience is so far soo good.please note that TV is connected to high reliable stabilizers and UPS all the time operated. My co brother LG LED TV thrown issue with screen as its started giving white dots over screen within 2 and half years. My brother samsung 47 inch TV dead due to motherboard problem and LG home theater stopped working due to motherboard and ic issue. All Korean brand stuffs dead within 3–4 years.. As i mentioned i owned Sony DAV-DZ777 home theater used very roughly without any stabilizers…I used 10 years and got bored of it and sold to my friend.. Its still working without any problem.. I went with Yamaha sound bar, it's been soo good soo far.. My friend panasonic TV crossed 8 long years without even a single niggle.. My Native home panasonic music system still running without any issues…Now when it comes to LED TV clarity, LG is slightly better with 1080p images compared to samsung and sony however cannot rely on this LG and Samsung brand . Sony is very reliable brand but it will make big hole in your pocket if any repairs occurs because sony service and spare parts are insanely costlier. I had similar experience with my LG refrigerator as it worked well only 3 years and started giving issues, i will post details about refrigerator and washing machine in seperate blog… So only panasonic is the left out option as a more reliable brand in terms of picture quality, sound, life and service compared to Sony, LG, Samsung etc.. Again this review is strictly based on my personal experience
