My Hp Laptop Wony Stay On

Laptop screen won't stay up?

Probably not something you would want to tackle if you are not too mechanically savvy. You will need to take the plastoc bezel around your screen off and you will find that the screen is held on by two hinges at the bottom where it connects to the body of the laptop. Most likely those hinge screws maybe lose. If that is the case, it is a simple fix - just tighten them. However, the worse case would be if those hinges are actually worn out and they cannot hold the weight of the screen. In that case, you will, unfortunatley have to replace those hinges - aka, get a new screen ??

Look on google for a "service manual" for your exact model. Most of the time you will find them in PDF formal and they will tell you, with diagrams, where and who to take pretty much your entire laptop apart. Be careful because you could cause serious damage to you device.

The other option would be to hook up an enternal monitor to the laptop. Yes that defeats the purpose of the laptop, but its an el-cheapo fix.

HP Laptop Key Cap Won't Stay Tight?

I have an HP laptop with intel celeron and Windows 7, My F, and I Key caps won't stay on tight. I cleaned the inside of those three letters today which meant I had to remove the key cover. I put the F back on and now it won't stay on anymore and it wiggles when I press it.

What could be the reason that my laptop won't stay on?

There could be many reasons, here are the selected few:Overheating is usually caused by bad cooling, increased load or both in combination. Usually after few years, the cooling paste on the CPU/GPU wears off resulting in ineffective cooling. The system shuts itself down at preset temperatures to avoid any damge. This am be easily fixed. Also check for blocked vents as dust sucked into the cooling vents, heat sink fins can degrade the heat dissipation.Faulty drivers: Although rare, sometimes, drivers for various hardwares can be faulty as OEM use all varieties of hardware. You may have to check which one of the hardware causes this by selectively disabling each of them and giving it a go. Try booting your system into safe mode(Windows) for quick troubleshooting. Also check the Windows Event Logger or kernel logs in case of Linux and Mac to further pin point the problem.

Please help! laptop keys won't stay on!?

It will not stay on most likely because the retainer clip or the back of the key is damaged, look very closely, there are small legs on them, and make sure its still good and not broken. If they are broken, then no matter what you do, it will not go back on, DONT USE GLUE! It will not fix the issue, just make it worse, take a look at www.replacementlaptopkeys.com, and buy new laptop keys, or just the retainer clip if that is what you need, it will fix the issue. Take care and merry christmas.

If I move my laptop the wrong way it just comes right out and it I fiddle with my cord it comes out too. I've only had this net book for just over a year and it's really making me mad. Could someone please tell me what's going on? Is it the cord or the the charging port ? It also doesn't "click" in anymore like it used to I noticed.

My HP laptop won't work unless it's plugged. What do I do?

At start-up, press the power button then start tapping the " Esc". It will bring up the start-up menu, from there you go to F2, system diagnostics, and in component tests menu there will be a test for power/ battery. That will most likely tell you if the battery is dead/faulty. Then if you are in warranty you can call the support, provide a failure code ( from the test) and you'll get a new battery. ( at least in the UK that's the process). You can also just get a new battery if the test indicates a failure.

HP computer monitor won't stay on anymore?

Nope that is a very common problem for HP LCD's and could be caused by a couple reasons.

The choke coils are heating and melting the lead free solder joints.

You have bad capacitors (bulged or blown)

In certain cases (of just HP's) the lead free solder oxidizes and causes a whole host of bull****.

And that's whats causing your monitor problems. Estimated cost for diagnosis and repair could be as little as 50 to 200. So would be easier to box it up and donate to me and buy another. I'll even pay shipping :)

Oh yeah stay away from anything HP related.
