Will this black spot on my broken LCD screen keep on spreading if I am not using the phone, or leaving it off until I can afford a fix?

A black spot on an lcd screen is usually caused by pressure on one spot, usually from behind on a phone. Yes, it can spread, even with the phone turned off. The ‘L’ in Lcd stands for liquid, and it does not care if the phone is on or not.

How can I block websites on my Android phone?

On Android, you'll need to edit the hosts file on your device to redirect sites you want to block. You'll need a file manager, and a text editor - the easiest option is to use our favourite app ES File Explorer, which lets you do both things. Here's how it works.1. Install ES File Explorer Open ES File Explorer and tap the "/" button at the top. Tap on system > etc.2. In this folder, you'll see the hosts file - tap it and in the pop up menu, tap text. In the next pop up, tap ES Note Editor.3. Tap the three dots button in the top right, and tap edit.4. Now, you're editing the file, and to block sites, you want to redirect their DNS. To do this, just start a new line, and type "127.0.0.1 www.blockedwebsite.com" (without the quotes, where blocked website is the name of the site you're blocking) for each website you want to block. For example, you'll have to type 127.0.0.1 www.google.com to block Google.5. Reboot your Android device. If that method is too complex for you, you can install an anti-virus app such as Trend Micro that lets you block websites.1. Install the app and run it. Go to Options > Safe surfing.2. Now swipe to Parental Controls and click set up account. Create an account and you'll see an option called Blocked List in the app. Tap it, and tap Add. Now add the websites you want to block one at a time. Once that is done, you won't be able to access these websites on your Android smartphone.source:http://m.gadgets.ndtv.com/intern...Edit:Open ES File ManagerNavigate to /system/etcLocate and long-press the hosts fileEdit as said above

Can I watch 3D movies on Android smartphones?

It is definitely possible to watch a 3D video on your Android, or for that matter, any smartphone. The basic idea of 3D video is that each of your eyes should see a slightly different image (at a different angle). This technique of creating the illusion of depth in an image is called Stereoscopy. For 3D, this may be achieved by creating 2 views which may be side by side (horizontal and vertical) or over and under (top and bottom). There are 2 major commercial technologies in use. The Anaglyph 3D and the Polarized 3D. Anaglyph 3D, found in normal LCD TFT displays (PCs, tablets, mobiles) encodes images used by each eyes using filters of different  colors (red and cyan) while Polarized 3D, found in cinemas and high end TVs, uses filters that will allow  only images that have similar polarization. To view 3D video on our phones, we'd require a pair of Anaglyph glasses which come pretty cheap and a 3D video player, which are available in plenty on the Play Store. Remember that you'll need a 3D video which is in the side by side format. PavTube BDMagic is a great tool to convert 3D videos into the 3D SBS format, which is just a side by side playback of 2D video, but is perceived to be 3 dimensional by our eyes.If you want a better experience, go ahead and buy one of the multiple Virtual Reality headsets available, the cheapest of them being Google Cardboard (a DIY is available for around INR350). There's Oculus ($100), Sony's Morpheus (still not on sale) and a new one called Immerse which retails for around $45. Others are coming up like HTC Vive or Microsoft's HoloLens. Most of these have their companion apps and work well with 3rd party apps, games and videos. Hope this leads to at least try Google Cardboard and get an amazing VR experience!

Apps are automatically installed on my phone. What should I do to get rid of this?

DON’T WORRY!First of all, head to the play store and install a good antivirus. I would recommend AVG or QuickHeal. After installing an antivirus, run the scan. The app will surely discover the malware or virus (if any) which is causing this trouble to you.Secondly, I guess you’ve downloaded an app from an unknown source. If yes, then please uninstall it right away. And in future download apps only from GOOGLE PLAY STORE because downloading apps from unknown sources makes your phone vulnerable to malware and viruses. In addition to that, you can do one more thing. Head over to settings > Security. Find Unknown sources. and make sure that it is turned off.One more reason behind this issue can be visiting distrusted websites. We all have encountered a pop-up (with continuous vibration) that pops up when we are browsing. It says something like this, “Virus found. Your phone (Your phone’s Model name and no.) needs to be fixed. Tap OK to fix it.”Don’t tap OK. Just keep on hitting the back button until you get rid of that message. Or close that tab.Lastly I would suggest you to keep that Anti-virus on your phone. Don’t uninstall it. Perform regular Scans. Increase the security of your phone and stay safe and smart!EDIT: You may find this article useful: Google is fighting a surge of ads that automatically download apps

How do I take great looking photographs with a phone?

You don’t take a photograph, you make it !!Here are some basic things which you can follow to make good pictures:A good photograph is knowing where to standYou don’t need a very good camera to take really good pictures, sometimes all you need is a good composition having subject at correct place of the frame, focused and a background mixing well with the subject.Look for interesting subjectsKeep your eyes open (not literally :) ), while you travel or even in your day to day life. You never know when and where you get your pic of the day.Look for lights and shadowsA good picture will always have a good contrast between bright and dark spots.Look for symmetryLook for patternsLook at objects from a different perspectiveTaking pictures from an unusual angle can make a world of difference.Take photos in 16:9 ratio, this should make everything look goodUse accessory lenses, you can reach to new objects and dimensionsThe below images are clicked using an extra macro lens which can be easily attached to your phone. The following images were captured using the Wide angle lensWait for the right momentBe patient, wait for the correct moment because a good photograph is also about the right moment to press that shutter. One last thing which i follow and has helped me a lot is, click as many pictures as possible, hypothetically.Let me explain,Make compositions in your mind with whatever you see. A lot of times you don’t get a chance to stop or you don’t have your camera with you and you miss the opportunity to capture an image. But in the process you know what not to miss the next time you get a chance.Lastly, the photographer’s eye is far more important than the camera. So, it doesn’t matter which camera or phone you use, if you have a good observation and imagination you can make good photographs with some practice. All the images were captured using Redmi Note 3 and processed using PicsArt.Hope this helps !!“I am not a professional photographer but I click really good pictures”, my friends say this about me.PS: I take a lot of black and white pictures because colour is everything but black and white is more.

How do I remove a program called DUO that refused to uninstall/delete from my Redmi Note 3?

Hi, thanks for A2A.That app DUO belongs to Google and it is a bloatware in Redmi Note 3. If you want to remove that app from this phone, you have to root your device i.e you should have the rights to do things over android system. If you can, then deletion is possible.Hope it helps!
