What is the difference between India and the United States of America?
Americans-Americans can do any sort of work such as sweeping, mopping, waiters, etc. without any prestige issue.Parents are not much concerned about their children.Every profession is respected by the people.Parents don’t stick to their children after a particular age.Can wear any uniform or dresses in schools.Divorce and multiple marriages are a common thing.A waiter’s average salary there is about 400$ (₹25,000) a week.They get paid according to work hours and weekly.Their parents don’t beat their children.A small child demands something from his parents. If the parents agree he get’s it, if they don’t he doesn’t.They don’t hesitate in proposing girls or boys.They get presents from their relatives and parents on their birthdays or Christmas.Refunding and returning is not an issue there.Traffic rules are really strict there.Majority of beggars there either play music or show their talents roadside to earn money.Neither children nor parents are much emotionally attached to each other.They don’t care about politics of other countries.Marriage is not a big issue there.Indians-Unemployed people often reject jobs of salesman or waiters due to prestige issues.Parents are concerned about their children more than themselves.People make fun of professions with less salaries.Parents stick to their children at every phase of their life.Have to wear particular proper uniform to school.Divorce is considered a huge issue and society never accepts it.Average highly qualified engineer’s salary is less than ₹25,000.They get paid monthly.Parents beat their children if they don’t eat food.A small child demands something. If the parents agree he gets it, if they don’t, the child lays down on the road.They hesitate while proposing a girl or boy. Some don’t even say them.Majority of Indians don’t even celebrate birthdays or festivals.You will only get refund from a store if you win the argument.Drinking while driving? What are some things that happen only in India?
In India, sometimes places such as restaurants, theme parks, trains, buses, movie theaters, etc. will keep a special price for kids below a certain age to attract more customers. The board usually looks something like this:Notice how it says age 12 and under.In June, my relatives were going to a water park with their 7 year old daughter and 14 year old son. They knew that the adult fares were different, and that children aged 5 and below would be given admission at an almost negligible price.However, things did not go as expected for them…Ticketer: Would you like to buy half day or full day passes?Parents: Full day passesTicketer: How many of you are there?Parents: Three adults and one child.Ticketer: What is the age of the little girl?Parents: Oh she just turned five last week, so we’re celebrating her birthday here!Ticketer: Oh! Happy bir-Daughter (very loudly and angrily): But mumma, I’m 7 years old na! And it wasn’t my birthday last week, it was Bhaiya’s (big brother’s). How can you forget! My birthday is in November not June!……..…….Parents: Umm… I think we will get sick if we go in the water park on this cold day.
