My Inbox Is Not Sorting Correctly

Yahoo mail sort by sender not working properly either?

It appears to be their new ugly design.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/The-New-Yahoo-Mail-Gets-Infinite-Scrolling-Preview-Pane-to-the-Right-358793.shtml:

"With infinite scrolling, there are no longer pages in your inbox. Press the arrow button if you need to go back."

How stupid. What about users having hundreds or thousands emails in the inbox or other folder?

I would suggest moving to Google Mail. Maybe they care more about their users than Yahoo does...

Is it grammatically correct to say '' thank you for your patience while we worked on it.''?

Yes, but it is a bit awkward. You are thanking them in the present tense for an act that occurred in the past. It’s just a bit tricky for the mind to sort.“We appreciate how patient you were while we worked on it.” (This implies both parties were ‘working’ simultaneously in the past tense.)

Is there a way in Gmail to sort emails by name or date?

TY for the A2A.Yes, it's true. Gmail does not allow you to sort - and after several years of watching people rant, rave, and foam at the mouth about this on the Gmail forums and other places with no response from Google, I'm convinced they never will. You see, Gmail was designed from it's inception to replace sorting with something better. Search! Google adding the ability to sort the Gmail inbox would be *the* company the world uses to search tacitly admitting that sorting is better. Not friggin' likely! And in point of fact... sorting isn't better. If you are reading this because you are frustrated with Gmail not sorting, chances are you have hundreds (or thousands!) of emails still in your inbox. This is probably because you don't truly understand archiving in Gmail, and are uncomfortable with it. I would also bet you know very little (or zero) about search.Basically... people who want to sort or use folders are still trying to use Gmail as if it were Outlook or some email client, or even the way they “always” used Yahoo or AOL.Gmail is fundamentally different. It seems like no matter how many times I and thousands of other techie types say that, people still ignore it (I can see it in their eyes) - and then go right on trying to use Gmail like every other email they ever used.THAT’s the problem!!!Gmail is totally different in its most basic assumptions, aims, and design. Trying to use it as if it was Outlook causes more problems than anything else.People who come to Gmail with years of experience using other email must unlearn their old ways, and then learn new ones. Kids have zero trouble learning Gmail, because they never learned the Outlook paradigm!Sort vs Search is one of those Gmail fundamentals that trips many people - sometimes for years. If you are new to searching your Gmail, here's a great video. And a great article: 5 Advanced Gmail Search Operators You Should Know

How do I disable Gmail's email sorting on my Samsung Galaxy S5 because I often miss emails that are sent to my Gmail if I look at them on my phone?

I am not 100% sure what it is you are trying to ask because I am not sure what you mean by you "miss your emails" if you "look at them on your phone". My best guess is, this is an issue with archiving? I think what you are saying is that when you open an email on your phone, that email that you read is no longer in your inbox when you look at it via your computer? If this is what's happening, then you are probably archiving your emails after you read them on your phone. There isn't an auto archive setting that I know of, so if your emails are getting archived, then you must be doing it manually. ThebarchiI've ran into some people in the past that has mistaken that button for an "advance to the next email on the list". Because emails are usually listed with the newest emails at the top, and the "next" email we'll be reading would be the one listed directly below the current, one can easily see how someone can get the archive button mixed up with the "next button". Again, I'm totally stretching to answer your question here. I'd be surprised if I answered it correctly. HopebthisbwCheers.

How can you disable threaded conversations for Gmail on iOS?

EDIT: A comment (quite correctly) pointed out that my previous answer was unhelpful. So here is another try.As of right now, there is no option to turn off  what Google calls "Conversation View" in the Gmail app for IOS. Yes, that's correct. You can't.I personally think conversation view is Gmail's second best feature. But this is a polarizing issue if ever there was one. Those who dislike it, REALLY dislike it. And to add insult to injury, this option is available in the Android app, and in the browser interface, below. So many IOS users are feeling slighted, ignored, and... ahem... somewhat unhappy. Yes, if you want this choice, you are not alone:Kill Gmail Conversation View in AppsMy first (inadequate) thought was/is uninstall the Gmail app, and use Apple's rather spartan built in IOS email app to access your Gmail.  I did this for a while. I found it... almost usable.  It does not correctly support Gmail  labels - among other shortcomings. But it does allow you to turn off the threaded view that seems to endlessly anger some folks. But there are other options! Here is a good article on IOS email apps from the Verge. They highly recommend (I can hardly make myself say this...) Outlook.  Which I would frankly never have believed despite respecting the source - till I read that Microsoft acquired Acompli and used it as the basis for its app.The best email app for the iPhone   So... Here we have Microsoft, riding to the rescue of Google users (!) on Apple phones. (!?!) And it's free! Life is endlessly strange. And on a personal ironic note, this apparently excellent app shares the name (if nothing else) of one of my lifetime most disliked PC/OSX applications.Note: I switched back to Android (via Google Project Fi) a few months ago, so while I'm quite curious, I won't be giving this a whirl anytime soon. If you try Outlook on your iPhone to access your Gmail... please let me know what you think!  :)

How do I remove grouping of e-mails by date ("Today", "Yesterday", "Last Week", etc.) in my Yahoo Mail (desktop version)? save screen space?

I can live with most of Yahoos improvements, particularly after they tweak it a bit. But I HATE these "dynamic date separator headers." They get rid of a whole bunch screen space, totally wreck the visual flow, and are completely unnecessary. We already KNOW the date. We don't NEED these spacers. I've been sorting my emails by Newest to Oldest for at least the past five years - I do not want to have to get used to a new format.

I do think that it would be a great addition as an option, but ONLY if we can turn it off, since most people would do that anyway.

Please get them off my screen.
