My Iphone 5 Battery Drained Very Fast

IPhone battery draining too fast?

I've noticed over the past few days that my Iphone 4's battery has been draining really quick. I use the facebook app occasionaly, and make about 2 calls a day if that. I hardly message throughout the day. I tested today, I took my phone off the charger for 30 minutes, used my facebook app for the whole 30 minutes and its down to 85%. Normally it wouldn't be that low.
What can I do to fix this problem?

What is the best way to drain an iPhone 5 battery fast?

Thanks for the A2A.Run Facebook. That will drain it really fast. But more importantly, why do you want to drain the battery? You will not substantially improve the life of the battery or its performance by doing so.

Why has my iPhone's battery drained so fast?

I have an iPhone 4, and I currently have iOS7 installed.
I've had it for a while now but it's only this year I've started to experience issues with it.
In July it randomly locked itself into recovery mode and I had to pay for an out of warranty exchange. As a result of this my handset it now fairly new so I wouldn't be expecting to experience any kind of battery issues with it.
My battery percentage was 55% when I got to work. It was left in my bag for just over 7 hours, turned on and when I went to take it out at the end of the day it had completely drained down to the point where my phone was unusable. No apps had been left running, no music had been left playing and I'd only recieved a few text messages and emails in those 7 hours. Although I'm aware iPhone battery life isn't great, surely 55% draining completely in 7 hours of me not once picking my phone up to use it is worrying?

Now I'm back home it's charging fine and everything seems to be in working order but I'm still concerned about how fast my battery seemed to drain today as I've never experienced battery drainage this fast before. Could there potentially be an issue with the battery that might be worth going into an apple store to get it looked at? (I have a 90 day limited warranty from when I got my phone replaced so if there is an issue I'm still in my warranty for a new handset)

IPhone 5 battery draining really fast?

The issue seem to be some settings are corrupted,. I don't think anybody knows at this point extactly which ones, but the common suspects are those related to data communications.

The solution is to reset these settings to default. This is particularly important for people who restored their previous backup into an iPhone 5 using iTunes, These backups could be from previous models like an Iphone 4S which may have incompatible settings with those of the IPhone 5.

So the gist of it is to
A) Backup your data
B) Reset the Iphone 5 settings
C) Put your data back into the Iphone 5.

To do so
1) Connect iphone 5 to itune, do a backup of your current settings + data
2a) From iphone settings-> icloud and turn on those type of data you want to push to icloud, example Mail/Contacts etc.
2b) Backup your data from Apps that are not icloud friendly. How to do so depends on the individual apps. For example WhatsApp chat history.

When you are sure these data are safely in the cloud then
3) On iphone go settings->general->reset-erase all data and settings. When iPhone came back alive, choose setup as new phone, activate and enter the usual setup questions like language and location.
4) Connect iphone to iTunes and choose setup as NEW phone. NEVER do any restore...
5) Wait for your iCloud to push the data back into your iphone 5, for other Apps, put the data back into the iphone as per individual apps instructions...

Then from that point onward, you may notice that the battery is back to normal and there is some speed gain in your 3G or 4G speed because the data communications settings are not corrupted

If this idea didn't work at all then you still can restore your phone right to where you took step 1 and then it's time to google for other ideas.

The battery of my iPhone 5s is draining at a fast rate. What is the remedy for it?

There are multiple reasons for battery draining in iPhone. The fix might include making minor changes in your settings or burning a big hole in your pocket by replacing the Hardware. The below fixes might help you if the battery draining is due to unoptimized Software settings.1) Checking what drains your battery.Settings -> BatteryYou can figure out which app is consuming more power (usually Facebook mobile app will be the culprit)2)Turn off Background app refreshAfter finding out the most power consuming apps, it's a better idea to turn off Background app refresh for those apps.3)Turn on Low power modeIt's advisable to turn on Low power mode since it reduces the Mail fetch,Background app refresh activities4)Turn off GPSRather than me explaining the reason, you can try it out and check how effective the fix is.Even after doing all the above tweaks,if you don't find any visible change in battery drainage,1)Install Battery Life app and check your Wear level.2)If it is more than 10 % (since you said yours is 6 month old), it's time for you to replace your hardware (or at least the third party charging cables if you are using any)Mine was 29% and when given for replacement in India ,they suggested me to replace battery and U2 IC chip in iPhone (Both are third party hardware) which leads to the total cost of 8000(3500 for Battery and 4500 for U2 IC chip)No wonder maintaining iPhone is a costly affair :)

Why is my iPhone 5 battery dying so fast?

Because it's an iPhone. The main goal of any cell phone manufacture and business should they wish to be admired by their patrons is to have the greatest focus on FREEDOM! This entails coverage and how long one can use his or her cellphone until it dies. So let's talk battery. Once upon a time, I had an Palm phone that averaged a lowly 5 hrs talk time. However, that wasn't a deal breaker for me. Why? Because I had a save. I had 2 extra batteries and 2 charging docks for home and car and the Palm had a battery access cover. When the battery was near death I had a save. I can replace it. Ta Da! New phone. That is: FREEDOM!
Today, I have a phone whose battery lasts 2 days. In addition, its battery is also removable and I purchased an extra battery and charging dock for $44 on Amazon. Should I ever forget to charge my phone and need to skedaddle I have a save... Unfortunately there was no saving my overpriced dead iPhone when it died. But it did make great paper weight I found.
But I do believe that eventually Apple will address this when they figure out how to use it as a profitable selling feature. Personally, I strongly feel that if Apple made their next phone with either a removable battery and or a battery big enough to last 18 hrs and not raise their price, they would double their sales. What say you?

Why is my iPhone 5 losing battery so fast?

Sometimes when you go in large buildings you lose service - this drains your battery incredibly quickly. Try to also turn off cellular Data. Then try turning off bluetooth (that one drains battery very quickly as well). Also turn off Wifi. I suggest only using those three services when you really need them.

Sometimes a running app can drain battery. Double tap your home button and long press any app that appears until it starts wiggling (Like when you move apps on the home screen). A red circle with an "X" should appear. Go through and hit the "x" on all the apps that appear until there are no more apps left. Many people debate on how effective this is, but I've seen the statistics, it helps immensely (even on Droid phones)!

If battery life continues to be a problem, try restarting the phone (turn it completely off and then on by holding down the Sleep/Wake Button and sliding the "power off" button).

Switching to a Droid phone will not necessarily solve your battery life woes! (Although the Samsung Galaxy S III has a much better battery life than the iPhone).

And just so you know, Apple Technical Support suggests that you drain your iPhone battery until it turns off every single time before you put it on a charger. It will preserve the life of your battery - I've seen how effective it is first-hand.
