My Iphone Says Theres No Sim Card Installed But There Is One

My iPhone says theres no sim card installed but there is one?

My phone has been working fine but up till a couple days ago, a message popped up saying there wasn't a sim installed. I hadn't touched the sim card at all. I have been turning it off and on and its been my only solution but it keeps happening. Its getting pretty annoying so any ideas? Please help!

How do i transfer my iphone contacts TO my sim card?

You can't do it on a new iPhone. You have to put them on your itunes. But if your iPhone allows installing third party software (when you have done a so called 'Jailbreak'), you may download a piece of software called iSIM. This will allow you to batch copy all your phone numbers to the iPhone without the need for a PC or Mac.

Why does my iPhone say no sim?

Well, there are two options. Either your iPhone doesn’t have a SIM card in it or it isn’t reading the SIM card. Use a paper clip to eject the SIM tray. If there’s a card there, take it out, reseat it, and put it back in the phone. If it still says “no SIM” then the SIM card is bad. Take it to your cell service provider and get a new SIM card.

Can you just put your sim card in an iphone and it will work?

Yes & No. Maybe. If it is an unlocked phone then you can.

Example : You had another answer and said they were an AT&T employee, just trade the Sim card and unlock it, I found the guy that did mine for 10$ on E bay, they usually run about 20$ and you don't even send in your phone. just the serial number and they will e mail the number unlock code back!

If your phone is unlocked, then yes you can put your sim card in an iphone. Be careful though, doing some of that stuff is illegal!!
Go to your local store with whatever company it is and ask what you can do. You have to get your phone unlocked FIRST to get it to work.

Can the police track your phone that is disconnected, no SIM card and no WiFi?

I think some folks have a mistaken impression of what you might mean by “disconnected”.If you power off the phone, it stops checking in with towers. If you remove the SIM card and power on the phone, it will check in with towers and can be found with some effort. They do not need any magic numbers to do this - the carrier, whom they are working closely with - has all the information that is needed. It all starts with your phone number or the last phone number that you had assigned to you with a SIM card. This will tell the carrier the IMEI of the handset and if that handset (even without a SIM card) talks to a tower, the location can be established. The key is the phone must be turned off. Some folks believe that turning off the phone isn’t enough and that it is necessary to remove the battery. I suspect it is possible to alter an Android phone such that it never actually powers off. This is not possible with an iPhone unless it is jailbroken.Wi-Fi doesn’t help the carriers at all. If you use the resources of Google or Apple to locate a phone, then Wi-Fi comes into play. Law enforcement does not generally have access to this and would rely 100% on the wireless carrier.

SIM card inserted wrong way?

I have inserted my sim card the wrong way on my nokia 2680 slide and now it seems its stuck. I'd like to know if there's any way possible to take it out without damaging the phone. Thank you in advance.

How do I unlock my iPhone without a SIM card?

You don't need an active SIM card to activate an iPhone; any SIM card that matches the carrier that an iPhone is locked to will work, or if the iPhone is unlocked, any SIM card should do. You will need to activate the iPhone via a USB connection to iTunes in this case which will processes the activation via your computer over the Internet, and in this case neither iTunes nor iOS cares about whether the SIM card is active. So, knowing this, if you can find an old SIM card laying around, or borrow somebody else's old SIM card, try sticking it in your iPhone and going through the activation process. It will either work or it won't (usually if the iPhone is locked and the SIM doesn't match), but you won't damage your iPhone or hurt anything by trying.Even if you find an old full-sized SIM card, you can cut it down to micro-SIM size to insert into your iPhone. If it's a dead SIM card anyway, you've got nothing to lose by trying this either, and instructions and templates for doing this can be easily found online. If you really can't get your hands on any SIM card whatsoever, your only other option is to resort to jailbreaking tools that will effectively bypass the activation process, colloquially known as "hactivating" an iPhone. A wide variety of information and tutorials for doing this can be found online, particularly if you search for "hactivate iPhone" so there's not much point in going into them in detail here.

Can a phone work without a SIM card? Why or why not?

Well...Let's go with a YES....a phone, that is: the device today known as a smartphone, which employs -in some occassions- a SIM card- can work without a SIM, providing that :If you want to use that device as a phone, cellular phone, then NO, it won't work.  It requires the SIM card to be able to "enable" so to say, the actual phone number and then connect and identify itself to a cellular network and ultimately place and receive cellular phone calls. Now, it you want to use that very same device with or without a SIM card for:WiFi based Internet purposes (navigation, downloading pictures, movies, music)...Music listening.Movie / video watching.Pictures taking with the camera.Any internet based communications (hangouts, skype, etc.    -WhatsApp may depend on having had, at least once, an operational SIM card tough-)Then your phone WILL perfectly work fine, as all this activities, (except perhaps for WhatsApp activation), do not require, nor depend on a SIM card and the functionality this SIM provides.
