How long does an iPad last?

I still have the first generation iPad I bought in 2010, and it still works. The battery life at this point (~7 years) isn't more than a few hours, and it's stuck on an old OS so it's not very useful anymore. It does still work fine, though. Many wife is using the second iPad I bought in 2013, I believe. That is a third gen. It's running iOS 9, and most if not all software runs fine on it. Too slowly for me, but my wife doesn't care. The screen still looks about as good as it did when it was new. When I eventually upgrade to a new one, I'm sure my wife will take over my current iPad Pro.Keep in mind that the battery is a limiter. Li-polymer batteries tend to work well for four or more years, though their capacity will decline over time. This is true for ALL batteries in all devices. No battery works forever.iPads last a long time.

Why does my iPad shut off randomly?

A subtle explanation to the dreaded question of why your iPad shut off randomy is simpler than you can imagine. A logical reason is behind a purposeful mechanism built-in all Apple devices. The faulty flash memory seems to be the troublemaker here. When your iOS system goes back to get something from the faulty memory your iPad adapts to an in-built safety net. Apple has made a safety switch by assisting the device towards a reboot rather than letting the phone crash or getting locked. This flashy memory can easily be prevented once you upgrade and install new software. This reduces the chances of you encountering the troubling process where iPad keeps restarting. Here is the tutorial to fix it:1. Hard reset your iPad. Press and hold “Sleep/Wake” button and Home button simultaneously until Apple logo appears.2. You can also restore your iPad if it is convenient for you. You need to connect your iPad to your PC through a cable and sync with iTunes. Click your device tab and next click on “Restore iPad” button. Don’t forget to back up your data before you proceed with this method. Please make sure you have the latest iTunes on your computer.3. Update to the latest iOS system. You need to install the latest iOS system and then process the update. You can also update all your applications on your iPad which would help when your iPad keeps restarting again and again.Besides, there are still some useful tips to avoid this issue happen. How can I update my iPhone 4S from iOS 7 to iOS 9 for free?

Upgrading your iDevice to desired iOS version is only possible untill Apple is signing those iOS.But your bad luck that Apple had stopped signing iOS 9 long before and I think iOS will be out of the track soon. So, you cannot upgrade your iOS 7 device to iOS 9.The last thing you are left with is go to updates and check which version you are gettingSettings -> About -> Software Update.ORGoto Download iOS Firmware for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple Watch and Apple TV.And choose your iOS device and check which version is still signed by Apple (Green ones). You can upgrade to that version of iOS only. And as per my knowledge iPhone 4s is a 32bit device and doesn’t support iOS 11.At last : you can upgrade to iOS 10 only (10.3.3)Hope this will help :)

What are the pros and cons of switching from an Android phone to an iPhone and is this popular, has it customizability or security implications?

I am using Iphone currently and i have used android previously. The reason to buy iphone was simple it just works while the galaxy phone i bought previously was not working and mostly was hanging so much that i had to restart the phone some time it had nothing to do with OS . I guess my choice of phone was bad in case of android as most of Android OS phone not lag that much .After buying iPhone i think it is really a good choice. It is secure more than android and apps on ios works better. I do not miss anything as most of apps are already on iphone and some were built first for iphone but there seems no gain too in terms of app. There are some very basic iphone apps similar apps can be found on other systems , so gain in terms of app is minimal.Mostly iphones work for longer duration than android as two of my friends had android phones earlier (one sony , one samsung) and after a year they switched to IPhone because of same hanging issues. While its been more than year and iphone never hanged / lagged.IPhone 5S is obviously a next generation phone while no one has catched it'sThere are apps for android which are just bookmarks as i saw. With iphone that is not the case. Apps on iphone are mostly better(in terms of usability) and are genuine.Iphone gets regular updates while android phone do not.Iphone has the best customisation on what an app can have control over. You do not need to share your text messages to any app .Cons:-. Your bluetooth will be apple to apple only. You cannot plug your phone and get files on your phone. Iphone connects only to itunes and you will need itunes by apple to sync most of things from pc(songs, videos etc.). Other options are cloud based solutions. iCloud, Google Drive , DropBox etc.Doesn't have radioYou cannot change the basic GUI (you can change wallpapers of your own but basic theme remains same)at all.
