My Kendrick Lamar Response

Can some one explain to me the beef with kendrick lamar with his verse on control?

There is beef with this verse, but not because of Kendrick.

He says he like the older cats, but the new guys need to step up there game, he's tryna be better than everyone.

He also says he's "The King of New York", KL shouldn't have said that and due to it, rappers like Joey Ortiz have called him out. Also Lupe Fiasco and B.o.B have called him out and even Big Sean, who's song it was called out Kendrick and said "My verse was harder", proceeding to diss KL.

Cassidy and others have praised him for it though stating they "Love Hip Hop and it's the kick it needs", or along the lines of that.

In general, the song on a whole is weak, Big Sean in his bravado speaks about running a bankrupt city, Detroit, and Jay Electronica serves up well spoken and well flowed.. emptiness. Kendrick Lamar’s verse is, well, what it says on the tin; a genuine, distraction from this overall average piece.

Why is Kendrick Lamar so good?

I listened to all the tapes an albums but i dont really see whats soo good about him! His wordplay and flow an message is good but its not amazing. People see him as some god. I like him but i really dont know what hes doing to be so ******* amazing!

Kendrick Lamar's control verse?

None of those are questions. You wrote a statement. I'm gonna treat them like a question and disagree with everything apart from listening to Kendricks verse.

Eminem raps about that as well. Maybe not money, but violence, gun crimes etc, Eminem's hugely overrated. Look for Underground Hip Hop for some better rap. UMang, Angry Mic, Reks, Welfare Poets etc. And I'm not an Eminem "Hatter"...

Drakes RnB - Not Hip Hop. His hits suck, but "Over My Dead Body", "Lust For Life", "Doin' It Wrong" etc are good Drake tracks

Kanye - a good producer and a great artist. He's an entertainer, and whether rapping or insulting someone, he's entertaining. Listen to "Gorgeous" and you'll get Kanye. Other good songs are "Spaceships" and "All Falls Down"

Lil Wayne - been rapping since '97. Bet you haven't heard his stuff. Tha Carter 2 is a good album. Tha Carter 3 and before, he was good. Check "Hustla Musik" and "All My Life".

Eminem was not in the diss - well he wasn't dissed. He said he loves Nas, Jay, Em, Andre and himself, all else need to step their game up.

Rap Music: What are the best responses to Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse?

My personal favorite was in response to these bars...Who the fuck y'all thought it's supposed to be?If Phil Jackson came back, still no coachin' meI'm uncoachable, I'm unsociableFuck y'all clubs, fuck y'all pictures, your Instagram can gobble these nuts...when Phil Jackson tweeted the next day:

Is it true that Kendrick Lamar thinks that he is great when he is not?

I'm tired of Kendrick Lamar fans. Kendrick isn't any better than the other good rappers.

RHH/R&P: What do you think of Tame Impala and Kendrick Lamar's song "Backwards"?

I enjoy both artists but I was pretty disappointed with it. I think everyone rightly expected the song to be a rehash of "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" judging from the name, but it doesn't add anything new to the song and feels more like a sample rather than a collab. On top of that, Kendrick sounds way too angry. The original song has such a smooth ethereal vibe to it but Kendrick just shouts through most of it. There isn't even a build up to it the way he did on the "Radioactive" remix; it's just yelling through and through. The lyrics didn't impress me either. What are your thoughts on the song?

If you haven't heard it yet (in which case, you're probably lucky), you can listen here: http://www.xxlmag.com/rap-music/new-musi...

BQ: What are your thoughts on alternative acts working more and more with rappers as of recent?

Why is Kendrick Lamar praised as if he was a God? Isn't he human, too? He seems too "hood" for my liking.

Halsey? Is that you?In all seriousness, Kendrick isn’t actually thought of as a god. The hip hop community online loves hyperbole, so you’ll often hear him thought of as a legend or a god, the truth is he just makes good art.Too “hood”? Not only does that make you sound like a mildly racist geriatric, but it misses the point of what hip hop is about. His hop is Jazz’s impoverished cousin. Hip-hop was born out of struggle and rhythm. Earlier rappers like Rakim, NWA, and Public enemy had seriously tough lives. Kendrick grew up in compton with very little money, so yes he raps about his struggles. He does it in a very tasteful way though. Id start with Good Kid M. A. a. D. City first. To Pimp a Butterfly is probably his most critically acclaimed work, for good reason, but it won’t really appeal to someone who is knew to rap music.Kendrick is human, but his accomplishments and his unique rhetoric leads to many younger people idolizing him.

Why did kendrick lamar diss everyone on "control" by big sean????

He didn't diss anyone. Everyone he name dropped he is relatively close to, especially J.Cole and Asap Rocky. He was stating rap is a competition, and everyone was becoming weak nowadays. The hunger fpr rap was starting to fade away. Everyone that responded back with a song was doing exactly what Kendrick wanted. They all went hard at him, B.o.B sounded HUNGRY with his track, same with Joel Ortiz.

Is Lil Pump a better rapper than Kendrick Lamar?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA …. no.Lil Pump fans are mainly people who are fairly new to rap music, and got into it because it’s “cool” now, and they want to be cool kids too!!And you know, usually when you try something new, you wanna start with a more simple, linear, bland component of the thing you’re trying, rather than jumping in head-first to the more experienced side. That’s what Pump is. Simple, bland. Really not much of a transition at all between pop music and “rap.” Thats what makes it so easy for these cool kids to see Pump as good. It’s basically pop music, except cooler!!!Think about it.People find his music catchyRepetitive, thoughtless, therefore easy-to-remember lyrics (see Gucci Gang)Songs are entirely surface-area based. There’s no underlying tones or themes. Makes it easy to digest.Weird, irrelevant music videos - this is interpreted by the simple-minded as being “lit af”Hair like a mop fell into a vat of pepto-bismol because, fashion! So why would you write meaningful, intelligent, deep lyrics when you could get just as famous by saying “Gucci Gang” 40 times? It’s a problem with our society, really. If your idea of rap is thoughtless, bland, surface level music, I guess Pump’s the GOAT. If your idea of rap is what rap actually is, why the hell are you listening to Pump lmao.So is Pump a better rapper than Kendrick, Eminem, Logic, J Cole, Childish Gambino, Joyner Lucas, JayZ, 2pac, Chance, etc?Of course not. But he’s a great pop star.

Why was Kendrick Lamar called “The biggest hypocrite of 2015”?

It has multiple meanings just like alot of Kendrick’s raps. But the most important meaning i get from it is that gang involved people will go out and say why did the police kill a innocent black man, that was my homie and get all angry and next week when a gang shooting happens and it’s a black on black, he’s a opp and he dissed there set.Basically, i think part of that line was a response to his homies, as he says that he’s basically taking what they tell him and rapping for the world to hear. He said on Mortal Man “we not even rapping we letting our homies tell stories through us” my meaning might not be super solid but im sure it’s acceptable. Lmao
