Kitchenaid dishwasher won't start?

Your model number will start with "DU", meaning dishwasher, undercounted. Are you sure you haven't just locked the child safety switch? Hold the button down for 5 seconds, then release it. If this doesn't fix it, you can probably reset the panel by simply turning the panel control to "off", then go to your breaker box, and flip the breaker which controls the DW (breakers are marked). Wait 15 minutes, then flip breaker back on. One of these two will almost certainly get you going.

Dishwasher Getting Power?Defective Door Switch?Blown Thermal Fuse?Broken Door Latch?Defective Main Control Board?Dishwasher Will Not Turn On – How To Fix

Not all Kitchenaids have this feature, but sometimes you can temporarily resolve the issue by doing a “key dance.” The most common reset code is “high temp wash - energy saver air dry.” Repeat three times. This resets the control board after a “blinking clean light” fault code. We get the fault code when the dishwasher does not sense a certain temperature rise in a certain number of minutes with the wash motor and heater having power. If this key dance “fixes” your dishwasher, it still needs to be looked at to find why the fault code occurred. Possibilities are:No fill/low fillWash motor not runningHeater not runningWater flow restricted due to debris in the sump.If you can select a cycle but the dishwasher simply won't start, you might have a failed touch pad.If the dishwasher shows no response and no lights, there could be a problem with the power supply to the machine or a failed thermal fuse on the control board. You should never need to reset the control board unless there's a malfunction of some kind.

Kitchenaid wire whip dishwasher?

My brother put my Kitchenaid wire whip in the dishwasher. I told him that it wasn't dishwasher safe, but I guess he forgot. When I took it out it wasn't shiny at all. Is there anything wrong with it besides that is has a dull color? I just hope there isn't anything wrong with its ability to mix. I am so mad at my brother, my Kitchenaid mixer is my baby :(

There are numerous DIY sites online that can tell you how to fix this problem without calling a repairman.

If it is NOT - - -; then the problem is - - -. (Look for this.)No lights, no beeps, no clicking, no whirrring; then there isn’t electricity. (Could be an ‘unused’ wall switch got bumped OFF, circuit breaker tripped OFF, or you need repair service.)No squirting, no filling, nothing gets wet; then there is no water from the hot supply, or the valve may not work. (Heater Deterioration or sediment in water heater, or dirt in well water, could clog supply valve, or controls not opening the valve, may need repair service or a house plumber. )Lots of stuff not getting clean even though washer gets full of water and makes whirrring sounds; wash water not spraying everywhere. (Spray arms jammed, not free to spin. Water may not be pumping through arms if the pump & inside pipes are clogged by plastic wrap, can labels, or food. Clogs can be cleared by opening pump under bottom spray arm with screwdriver. Pipes on top rack may not seal where it slides back to plug into the back wash water pipe. <>A few things stay dirty, it all sounds normal; water not hot enough, washer heating element dead or turned off (economy setting?), soap not dispensing right (gummed up door?), old caked hardened powder soap? (Try fresh liquid.), water not ‘soft’ anymore? (Service softener, has water supply changed?) Float switch is stuck ‘up’ & washer not filling enough water, (should move freely.)

Dishwasher Door won't open all the way?

If you just had the unit installed yesterday then there is nothing wrong with it. The springs have not been used and they need to be used a little bit before the door will stay down, usually about a week or two. When you go to load it. Pull out the bottom rack and set some of your plates in it quickly and it will stay open.

First check that there is water in the machine to drain, then check / clean if nesc. the filter inside machine, check that the drain pipe leading from the machine outlet hose is clear and not kinked - you could also put the machines outlet hose in a bucket and see if it will drain out then. The only other thing you could try yourself is to check the drain pump - most recent machines have a separate drain pump but some - mainly older machines - reversed the main motor or used a diverter valve to change from wash to drain. TURN OFF THE POWER AND UNPLUG THE MACHINE> Assuming it has a separate pump it will be the unit connected to the drain hose before it exits the machine - it will probably have a fan on its rear which you can try turning by hand - if it turns freely then there is unlikely to be an obstruction in the pump and if it does not turn freely then you will need to disconnect the hoses to the pump - you may be able to remove an obstruction by 'fishing' it out through the hose connection/s - if not remove the pump and dismantle it. When dismantled ensure the impellor is secured to the shaft - sometimes they turn freely and so when the motor turns the impellor will not pump the water. THE FOLLOWING IS AN ELECTRICAL TEST FOR THE PUMP MOTOR BUT IT MAY BE DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE INEXPERIENCED - TAKE GREAT CARE ! A final test you can do is connect the pump directly to power via a cable with a plug on one end and bared ends, 'spade' connectors or clips. If the pump motor does not run then the pump is defective. If the pump turns but wont operate in the machine then the problem lies in the power circuit in the machine leading to the pump - rare but can happen > CALL A TECHNICIAN since as you posed this question you wont be able to find and fix the problem yourself.
