My Knee Is Herting But My Injury Happen In A Year Ago

Knee injury, but my parents hate doctors?

I'm a 14 year old girl and for almost three years now my knees have been dislocating once every 1-2 months. 22 hours ago my left knee dislocated again. Every other time the burning sensation and pain goes away within a couple hours, but this time it STILL hurts. It hurts even when there is no weight on it. My parents hate doctors and won't take me (cost is NOT an issue), and friends/family, and public transportation are not options. The school nurse couldn't even help me out.

Something had to of gone very wrong when my knee dislocated yesterday. I know what it is suppose to feel like, and it isn't this. How can I get to a doctor or convince my parents?

Can I still join the military with an injured knee?

It really depends on the extent that it disables you. The best thing to do would be to ask your recruiter. They may be able to get a waiver for it but I'm not sure. There is a guy in my DEP program now that hurt his hip jumping hurdles a few years back and it gives him problems when he stretches but he got in just fine. So yeah, just talk to the recruiter, find out if you will need a waiver

I have a knee injury, but my parents won't take me to a doctor?

By the sounds of it you have seen several doctors on this issue. It sounds like you know exactly what is going on. I trust that what you feeling is probably true since it does happen so frequently. {Barring any emotional issues you may be going through}
I live in Canada and we have a great thing where you can call and talk to a nurse and get medical advice, I am not sure if that is available in your area.
If not there are several websites that have live nurses available although I can not remember the names. Do a Yahoo search for live nurse several should come up. Tell the nurse your issues and she will provide iformation for you. She will also tell you how urgent it is to go to a doctor. Please keep in mind that these nurses are trained to tell you to go seek medical advice because they can not physically examine you and they are not doctors.
This will give you information to feed your mom, hopefully she will break down and take you then.

My Knee has been hurting for about 3 months and what should I do?

It happened about 3 months ago. I was jumping in my living room (i love basketball) and when I jumped, I came down on my knee on my table (the table is wood on the sides). It hurt at first and i sat there in agony for about a normal minute, but i didn't do anything to it because i thought it would go away, but for the past months it has stayed hurting. I walk, run and do things normal and don't feel it but when i put pressure on it, it hurts and when i kneel to the floor it hurts. I am training for high school basketball, so i want it to go away. What should i do, should i go to the doctor, what do i have?

I sprained my knee 2 years ago and it's still giving me problems. Should I go back to the doctor?

You should definitely see a doctor as soon as possible. Don't you know that pain is a clear sign that something is wrong with your body? You write that running hurts, jumping hurts, sparring hurts, sitting hurts. Do you understand that it'll be much worse when you become older? Were you going to wait till it hurts walking, or what? You should get rid of the pain while you still young. Moreover, ensure that a very good doctor sees you.I advise you visit a physical therapist. He/she will diagnose you, possible prescribe some drugs, but, more importantly, give you a number of exercises that, together with extracorporeal shockwave therapy, will reduce pain and heal your knee.

Kneecap Injury, knee bone bumps and ridges?

I banged my knee on a metal box 8-10 weeks ago while snowboarding. It was bruised pretty badly at first and continued to hurt (due to direct pressure only, walking was more or less unaffected) for a few weeks. I have bruised my knee before, the only thing about this one that bothered me was how it felt to the touch. Even after most of the swelling subsided, my kneecap bone felt different than my other one, it almost seemed to have a couple dents in it and felt a little "slushy," as if little pieces were floating around (although I'm sure that's just how it FELT b/c I could walk normal).
Now that all the swelling is gone and it doesn't hurt, my kneecap still feels different. It is not as flat as the other one and feels like it has a couple of "ridges" in it (little bumps that either stick in or out).
Any ideas what could be going on and if I should be worried/do anything about it?
I would go to a doctor but I am busy with college until summer and it doesn't hurt me so so it doesn't seem like a priority.
