My Knee Wont Pop And I Cant Fall Asleep It Has To Pop Before I Can Sleep What Should I Do

How to sleep when you are not sleepy???

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

How can i get myself to fall asleep with severe knee pain?

Taylor, most knee pains that I have encountered have been caused by the tendon for the kneecap shortening up which pulls the kneecap up on and into the knee binding it up and making it hard and painful to move your knee. The reason your dr. hasn't found it is because it does not show up on x-rays or mri's. Here is how you can release that tendon so the pain goes away for you:
Kneecaps:
Do while sitting on a chair with no front cross braces.
While sitting have your leg resting in a stretched mode. Place both your thumbs, side by side, about 2 inches behind the kneecap and press down into your leg and then redirect the pressure a little towards the kneecap. After 30 seconds, slowly slide your foot back and under your chair as far as it will go, release the pressure but hold your foot there for another 30 seconds.
The most important part of this is the pressure on the leg. If you don't have enough on it this won't work. If you try it and you don't get results try it again. Part of the problem is the leg muscle is also releasing as you are applying the pressure so you have to be adding weight to compensate for that. Trying it again right away means that that muscle isn't going to be much of a factor the second time around. One gal wrote to say it was the third time for her that finally did it. Good luck.

Cant Fall Asleep!!!!! Please help.?

See a doctor, maybe you have insomnia. Do you have depression or anxiety or anything? That can be a huge factor. Some tips-excersize during the day, don't watch too much t.v or spend too much time on the computer, if something is stressing you out, write it down before you go to bed and say to yourself you'll worry about it later. Be sure to free yourself of any stresses before going to sleep. Don't drink too much caffeene or any at all, don't take sleeping pills-there addictive. Instead, try benedryll for a while. I used to have a hard time falling asleep and my doctor suggested it- she said anything that helps you fall asleep better and clears your sinesis is ok and its not addictive (I mention bendryll because it tends to make you groogy. It helped me, maybe it can help you. I don't take it anymore, but it helped.) Anyway see your doctor, anxiety can be a big factor. I have that and I know it affects my abitily to sleep. I've recently developed depression and it makes it hard to sleep. So know that those can affect it. See your doctor. Hope I helped! Turky and milk make you sleepy btw.

I cant sleep alone and im a teen!?

I was the same way as a kid. Even when I got an apartment as an 18 year old there was a few nights when I had to sleep on my roommates bedroom floor.

Okay, so maybe it was like for a few weeks. But still.

Its all about getting used to sleeping alone. I could sleep alone pretty well with a light on.

It had nothing to do with the boogie man, or anything bizzar, like that. I just couldnt sleep. I wasnt really afraid, I just couldnt shut off. But It was easier with the light on for some reason, maybe because it kept my senses over loaded enough to exhaust me. After a few nights of sleeping with the light on it was routine enough for me to sleep without it.

The only way I could sleep in my own room as a kid, and as a teen was with my giant dog in the bed under the covers with me.

You'll have to start setting yourself up with a routine. Soon it will become habit and second nature and you wont think twice about sleeping alone in your room.

leave the door open if that helps, with the light on and a radio on, or the tv or something like that. Or sleep with the dog.

Dont feel bad. Iam 26 this year, married with a toddler and I still cant sleep alone. In fact, if I am the last one in the house to fall asleep the only way I CAN sleep is if I stuff everyone in the same bed with me. lol.

You just learn to deal with it, and get over yourself.

its not healthy to let something control you past a certain point. Own the issue, dont let it own you.

Why do I want to sleep when I can't but not want to sleep when I can?

It seems logical to me that if you don’t (can’t) sleep when you should, that you will be drowsy during daytime due to not getting enough rest during the night.Sleep is an interesting phenomena. Why do we feel refreshed after we lost consciousness for a while? I have had a similar problem: being tired, going to bed and telling myself: I am going to sleep NOW. Then sleep simply doesn’t happen.Counting sheep jumping over a fence is ludicrous. Seneca advised going over the day’s events in reverse in your mind - starting with the most recent and falling asleep while you are busy doing this. Did not work so well for me.I had some success with a technique by imagining myself getting smaller and smaller - to such an extent that I can fit on the head of a pin.My best success and most recent practice is to imagine myself getting into a small spaceship and then flying away from earth, and then to look back at the earth getting smaller and smaller until it is a tiny blue dot very far away.I assume we are trying to avoid medical or chemical solutions here.

Why can't I fall sleep even though I'm really tired?

When you are “tired, but wired” your cortisol level may be high. When cortisol is high, your melatonin level is low. As melatonin is the sleeping hormone, you have problems falling asleep. You can approach this with relaxation methods. When you do Tai Chi, listen to a self-hypnosis tape or engage in yoga, your hormones rebalance, your cortisol level gets reduced and your melatonin level normalizes. This allows you to fall asleep easier. You are tired, but no longer wired.Alternatively you can take 3 mg of melatonin at bedtime and when you wake up in the middle of the night you may repeat another dose of 3 mg of melatonin. Often this alone will help you to have a good night’s sleep. However, if this approach is not quite enough, you can add 500 mg of valerian root at bedtime along with the melatonin. This allows your mind to calm down (you are no longer wired) and you will be able to fall asleep. Your cortisol level has been reduced and melatonin gains the upper hand. Sometimes you are excited or particularly worried about something. In this case you may wake up in the middle of the night and you have difficulties falling asleep again. In this case you can repeat another 500 mg valerian root dose. Often this tips the balance and you fall asleep again. If this self-help approach does not work and you still have problems falling asleep, make an appointment to see your medical caregiver and discuss your problem.

I can't fall asleep easily and the 4-7-8 method doesn't help for me. What's another way to fall asleep quickly?

Below are some habits you need to adoptDiet :change your diet; surprisingly for a lot of people, their diets are keeping them from falling asleep. Before you go to bed, you need to really drop your carbohydrate consumption. If you’re consuming too many sugars and carbs, your body is burning through those and getting warm, which prevents you from comfortably going to to sleep. That means you must lower your sugar, grain and overall carbohydrate intake before bed. Many people aren’t aware that they suffer from low potassium or have signs of a magnesium deficiency, as both are crucial nutrients you need to help relax the body and help you fall asleep at night.Use essential oil: essential oil for sleep is combination of various oils including lavender oil etc. These essential oils induce a state of rest for the brain activity and they sweet smell keeps the mind from running wild with non stop thoughts. You can use the oil by adding it to a diffuser 30 minutes prior to sleep or rub a few drops on your pillow.Change Your Lifestyle: Last but not least, you probably need to change your lifestyle in order to find more insomnia cures. For example, I recommend a few things to do around your home to help improve your sleep. Get the temperature in your house cold, definitely below 70 degrees — oftentimes, upper 60s to mid-60s for some people is necessary. In the winter, make sure the heat source has been turned down. A nice and cold house will help improve your sleep.Stick to a sleep schedule of the same bedtime and wake up time, even on the weekends.Practice a relaxing bedtime ritual. If you have trouble sleeping, avoid naps, especially in the afternoon.Exercise daily.Evaluate your room.Foods to AvoidCaffeine — Don’t consume caffeine after noon or at all if you are having difficulty sleeping.Alcohol — Stop drinking alcohol at least 2 hours before bed and drink in moderation.Any potential food allergens — Food allergies can cause insomnia.Sugar — Variations in blood sugar can cause insomnia.High fat foods — Fat slows down digestion and may lead to indigestion at night. Limit fried foods before bedtime. blood sugar can cause insomnia.Apply all habits and you will see results soon

Why cant i force myself to sleep at night?

Because sleep isn't something you look to do. It's a natural process and you must simply take the things that stop it from happening away. You probably haven't approached it so well. You must not expose yourself to any media at least 30 min before you go to sleep. Keep your lighting dim, with lamps and candles maybe, and keep your room dark. Keep your house's temperature comfortable and try not to move around in your bed by just finding one comfortable position. Forget about the whole day when you lay down, don't even think about sleeping, and close your eyes in the dark, you will find a vibration that you will find easy to relax in. Don't have anything that will give you too much energy a while before you go to sleep. Sometimes people have a hard time sleeping because they don't use up their energy, like with exercise, but this must be done throughout the day. If you can't seem to fall asleep, go to another room and do a quiet activity (reading something that is informative but not too interesting is good) until you get tired, does not include media (tv, radio, computer, phone etc.). If you expect this to happen a lot, start your routine earlier. You may want to try having lettuce and drinking passion fruit juice. They help you sleep pretty well. If you haven't tried all the doctor's recommendations, try taking warm baths, drinking warm milk or tea(chamomile, maybe, there are many different types provided in health stores, don't look for a specific one), or getting a gentle, soothing massage. Rain will usually help take things off your mind. There are CDs that provide you with other constant and soothing background sounds like the ocean, rain or things like that. You might want to practice meditation to learn how to remove things from your mind. Leave your mind open to methods and believe that it will work for you because that is half the battle. Don't over think anything with too many exercises. Good luck! I'm happy to help if you need me.

What do you do when you can't sleep at night?

Some recommendations for insomnia:   ·        Take a walk. An extremely therapeutic action. Do not underestimate the power of a good walk. When you walk, look around at things in your surroundings. Do this for a while and you’re likely to go through a period of exhaustion. Do not stop there but keep going. Eventually, you’ll feel more awake, but it won’t be the jittery, nervous type. You should feel alert but calm, and sleep better. ·        Exercise. This goes along with the walk but more focused on getting your cardiovascular system into action. People with desk jobs who drive to and from work – or work from home – tend to not get anywhere near the needed exercise. If you cannot sleep after a work-out, try it in the morning or early evening.  ·        Lay off the caffeine and sugar. Many are addicted to coffee or worse, “energy” drinks that contain questionable chemicals. Sugar is omnipresent. Try an organic superfood blast in the morning to kick start the day. By evening you should feel tired for the right reasons. ·        Eat right. Our diets can be severely lacking in real nutrition, where the body is in a sort of shock. It simply isn’t functioning properly. Diet is of course a whole subject in itself, but you can start with common sense and skip the fast food, heavy starch intake and foods high in chemicals and additives. Try organic for a while and see how you feel.  ·        Drink lots of water. More people are dehydrated than is generally realized.  ·        Tryptophan. You’ve probably heard that this amino acid naturally occurs in turkey and is a reason you feel tired after Thanksgiving dinner. This is probably true but I’m sure the pumpkin pie helps. Try a tryptophan supplement.  ·        Calcium and magnesium. You can get a powdered form and make a hot drink out of it. It calms your joints and relaxes the body. ·        Write down your incomplete tasks. A lot of people that can’t sleep are stressed out about all the incomplete jobs they have floating around. Try writing them ALL down. Leave no stone unturned – the small and the large tasks. Then start working on them one at a time and getting them DONE. Your head may stop spinning around as you lay in bed. Those are a few suggestions that have worked for me. Good luck! Per WickstromFounder of Best Drug RehabilitationBest Drug Rehabilitation
