My Knees Caps Can You Improve Them

What are those bumps on your knees called? How can I get rid of them?

I, know what you're talking about!
I have those too, I'm light-skinned, but they're a bit darker and are like a bunch of pores except they're bumps...
I used to have the real bad, but so far all I've done is gentlely rub them with a exfoilating sponge, like a loofa everytime I shower.
Just do that and pay extra attention to them (cause I used to have the same thing on my elbows).
Lotion them up (w/original Jergens, dove, anything w/lots of moisture), rub sugar/salt scrubs on them and they should start smoothing out.

How can I improve a over worked knee cap?

Can you elaborate a little more about what you mean by “over worked knee cap”? How did you come to that conclusion? How did you over work your knee cap? Are you having lots of pain over the front of the knee? What activities flare up the pain or have become hard to do? How long has this been going on? What have you tried so far? Have you ever had any knee injuries in the past? With a few more details I might be able to direct you a little better.

Why can some people move their knee caps? Could this cause issues for them in the long run?

Everybody can move their kneecap. For instance, you can glide up and down:Or side to side:The issue, and what I assume you’re referring to, can be with excessive mobility. For instance, you don’t want to be able to move your patella (knee cap) like this:Credit.Notice that groove in the middle of the knee. The deeper this groove, the less likely the patella will come out of it.Some will have deeper grooves than others. Those with a shallower groove we say have trochlear dysplasia. You know that thing you hear about in dogs? With their hips? Where the bones aren’t as stable in the joint as we’d like? Same idea. Dysplasia meaning the joint isn’t as deep as we’d hope. This can happen in any joint. The deeper the joint, the more stable it isThat groove can be shallow, it can be tilted a different way, it can be higher on one side than the other, all kinds of variety can happen, which all make it harder or easier for the patella to move.(Note, side to side issues are mainly what we’re concerned with. Excessive mobility in the up or down direction isn’t as common, or problematic.)This is all a form of patellar tracking. Here are more details about what it is, how it can go from a minor problem to a major problem, exercise vs surgery intervention, and more.

Is there a way to strengthen your knees?

I pretty much never exercise because I'm lucky enough to be one of those people who don't seem to gain weight. I've noticed I don't feel very fit recently and wanted to start exercising. However, running and even just doing jumping jacks hurt my knees. Just going up stairs hurts my knees sometimes. Is there a way to strengthen them?

Iron Knee - Kung Fu - is it safe?

I think you're suppose to rub your knee with a certain Chinese medicine called Dit Da Jow. This is similar to the practice for the arms and palm. Personally, I think going into Chinese medicine to improve your "kung fu" is the lazy man's way. You can really hurt yourself. You can get similar results without the medicine. It just takes longer.

However, if you have an instructor whom you fully trust, and he insists on you doing these types of exercises, go for it. But if you happen to stumble upon this type of training on the internet, and you don't have an instructor to oversee it, don't even bother. That's just plain stupid.

I need an effective exercise for fat knees?

Hello,
I just joined Curves, works for me.
30 minute workout 3 days a week.
Good support group, all in the same boat- To win that battle of the bulge.
They will teach you how to do what's right for you.
To lose weight and inches the key word is SLOW, for those body, organs and heart work together.
If you lose the weight to fast will cause the fat to hang, not good for the heart.
Slow wins the race.
I have seen great results on other ladies not just myself.

PS. Also it is said," not to jog, run, jump up and downs if over 30 pounds weight.
The knees can't take the pressure only to cause you injury to those knee caps".
If not curves or can't afford a gym fee, then do a 30 min walk, swim anything better than nothing. Right :)

Sandra
Good Luck

Are knee braces helpful?

Knee braces are definitely helpful if used as per the requirement. There are different types of knee braces, such as Simpy pull up type, Open patella type, Hinged type, Immobilizers and Knee straps.Pull up typeThese can be simply pulled up on knees for support and compression. The simplest type of support, the pull-up knee sleeve can offer support to the knee area while giving compression and warmth. The key to how simple they are is really in the name, all you have to do is pull it up over your foot. They’re great for the first few days after a minor injury, as well as towards the end of a rehab period of a more serious injury when activity is increased.Open Patella typeIn the Open patella knee supports the patella or kneecap area is uncovered. Some models are completely open in front, while others have a small reinforced opening just required for the patella. Open patella braces are considered to be more comfortable for extended wear than closed patella braces, which makes it to be preferred by the athletes. Open patella braces provide slightly less support than closed patella braces, so power-lifters and bodybuilders often favor the closed design.Hinged typeA hinged knee brace can support and stabilize an injured knee. It can limit movement while your knee heals after injury or surgery. It may also reduce pain and pressure if you have arthritis in your knee. This type of brace keeps your knee in the proper alignment when it bends, to help heal and avoid further injuries. Your doctor may recommend a hinged knee brace after surgery. Hinged braces are either rigid or soft, with soft ones providing less support than rigid braces.Knee strapsA Knee strap is a great solution if you suffer from knee pain due to runner’s knee or jumper’s knee (patellar tendonitis), Osgood-Schlatter disease, or patella tracking. It can fit under clothes and is easy to put on and take off. Wearing this type of strap helps prevent patella injuries and minimizes knee pain by putting compression on your patellar tendon. For an in depth view you can refer to What are the different types of Knee braces ?
