Why won't my Macbook Pro charge?

I got my 15 inch Macbook Pro at the end of July, so very recently. For some reason, whenever I play 3D games on it (Portal 2, Sims 3, Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, etc) the light on the charger turns green and near the battery display at the top right of my screen it says (Not Charging).

Also, I've seen some people being skeptical that maybe the games are just taking more power than the chargers can give the computer. I know this isn't the case, because one of my friends has an older, 13 inch Macbook Pro that plays all the same games and his computer charges while he plays the games. He hasn't had the error at all. ):

Macbook charger not working?

Apple products break really easily. I've been using macbooks for about 4 years now and I've had to get my old one replaced and I've had to change my chargers about 3-4 times (cant remember now). There really isn't much you can do, my charger is glitchy some times too... I'd just recommend you get a new charger.

Why isn't my Macbook Pro charging?

If you can turn the macbook pro on, go to the battery indicator on the top apple bar, and hold the OPTION key and check your battery status. it should say:

Battery conditions
The battery condition tells you whether your battery is functioning normally and approximately how much charge it can hold.

Here are the possible conditions:

Normal: The battery is functioning normally.
Replace Soon: The battery is functioning normally but holds less charge than it did when it was new.
Replace Now: The battery is functioning normally but holds significantly less charge than it did when it was new. You can continue to use the battery until you replace it without harming your computer.
Service Battery: The battery isn’t functioning normally, and you may or may not notice a change in its behavior or the amount of charge it holds. Have your computer checked by an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP). You can continue to use your battery before it’s checked without harming your computer.

You cannot buy a unibody macbook pro battery off the streets. You must get it serviced at an apple store or send it into the apple servicing center. The Battery is secured by a little hinge and a spring but first you must removed the 8 screws of the computer undercarriage.

NOTE: YOUR BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT JUST MIGHT BE BROKEN.

What does the orange light on a MacBook charger mean?

What does the orange light on a MacBook charger mean?It means that the self-destruct sequence has been initiated! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!Nah - just kidding, unless it’s also ticking loudly. Then run for it.Normally the orange light just means that it’s charging and that the battery is not yet full. When it’s full, the light turns green. If your charging light stays orange and never turns green, this could indicate a problem with a battery that is unable to hold a charge. An incontinent battery, so to speak. You could try to ask Apple nicely if they can replace it, but they would probably prefer if you spent a crate full of money to buy a new device.

Macbook pro charger making sizzling noise?

a week ago there was a blackout while my charger was plugged into my macbook. the blackout only lasted for a few seconds and when the electricity came back a small puff of smoke came out of the charger and the laptop stopped charging. i quickly unplugged the charger from the socket and i could smelled something burnt coming from inside the charger when i brought it close to my nose.

recently i plugged in the charger again to see if it would still work and it did. my laptop's charging normally however i can hear a very faint sizzling noise coming from inside the charger when i bring my ear close to it.

it'll be a while until i can get it replaced or checked out, but i really need to use my laptop. is it safe to plug it in (like is it going to explode or catch on fire if i charge it?). the sizzling noise isn't loud but there's still a faint smell of something burnt from inside the charger

My MacBook Pro won't turn on. The light on the charger flashes orange/green. What should I do?

"Flashing Amber and Green" is universal Apple-talk for something ain't right here. With your MagSafe charger doing that, it means something is preventing the charger from doing what it is supposed to do… which could be several things, none of which are going to make you happy.Damaged MagSafe Cable. This is the best-case scenario, as a replacement is around $80. (Yeah, that's the best-case scenario)Damaged MagSafe Interface. The component on the computer that connects to the MagSafe cable could be damaged, and the cable cannot charge the computer which causes the error.Damaged Battery. The battery may be damaged, or outlived its lifespan. Usually, however, the computer can still be powered and run via power supply in that case but the battery just won't hold a charge. Check the charge level with the button that illuminates the LEDs on the computer to show charge level, if your model has them.Damaged Logic Board. Ouch, this one is going to put a dent in your wallet without AppleCare. Your Logic Board (Apple's term for a motherboard) could be fried -- possibly due to a power surge or other anomaly -- and will need to be replaced. There are plenty of other things it could be too. If you're extremely lucky, it's a software or firmware glitch that can be fixed simply by resetting the SMB. Take your computer in to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, and have the, diagnose the issue; make sure you're prepared for bad news, and have the means to pay a few hundred dollars if necessary. If you're like me, and your computer fails while under AppleCare, it'll be an amazing feeling to know its all free. If not… well, I don't wish that feeling upon anyone.
