My Microphone won't work on My Pc?

Got this Corsair Headset of a Friend and it worked perfectly, Tried it on my PC and the sound is working but not the Mic? Plugged it into a Laptop and both Sound and Microphone worked.
My Question why isn't it working on my Desktop?
I have Realtek High Def Manager installed and nothing is mute or lowered down.
In device manager there is nothing for the headset just the Realtek driver.

Please help.
Thanks

Why won't my microphone connect?

I just received my Shure C606N microphone in the mail today, a general consumer grade microphone. When it arrived, I realized that 1/4th inch connector was too large to plug into the microphone jack, so I purchased a 1/4th-1/8th converter from Radio Shack. It now fits fine into the jack, but for some reason my computer refuses to pick up any sound. The microphone has no LED, so I cannot tell if it is on or not when I switch it on. Here's to answer a few common problems
- I updated my drivers
- No it is not muted
- Yes the microphone is turned on and selected
- Yes the volume is up
- Yes the microphone is selected
- Yes the microphone is brand new, not faulty.
- Yes the adapter is brand new, not faulty.
- No the microphone does not require phantom power.

The thing that baffles me the most is that this is the exact same microphone my friend purchased and it works just fine for him, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't use a 1/4th-USB adapter. I have attempted to use the microphone with Sound Recorder, FL XXL and Audacity, but to no avail. Please help me with this issue

Why my microphone won't work in my PC?

Go to volume control -->options--->select properties
select Recording --- in this list select Microphone and click ok
Volume control changes to recording control... here select Microphone and increse volume...
that's it..........

The least likely case is that your mic got broken, the most likely case is that you haven’t enabled it from the audio control, you haven’t raised its volume or you need to reinstall the audio drivers.

This is not related to Windows 10 at all because it’s a hardware issue. Now what’s the type your headset? Most headsets have separate phone and mic connectors like this. Just plug phone jack (green) to the audio out and microphone jack (pink) to the audio in port. There would often be no color on laptops like on desktops or on a real sound card but there should be some symbols indicating what port that isIf you’re using a laptop without mic port then you’re out of luck and have to buy a separate USB sound adapter (which was very cheap, I can get one with 1–1.5USD), unless it’s a strange laptop that uses TRRS 4-pin connector like on a phone. In that case use stereo TRRS male to dual TRS female extension cable like this, or simply use a phone earpiece directlyIf you’re using a mobile earphone then it’s already 4-pin TRRS. You need a 3.5mm dual TRS stereo male to TRRS female like below. Plug the green and pink connector to the computer like above and plug your earphone connector to the holeMany modern sound cards have dual-role 3.5mm ports, which will detect what type of device you’ve plugged in and switch to an audio in or out port accordingly, but sometimes the detection is incorrect and you have to switch it manually by entering the settings page and selectAfter you’re plugged the cables correctly, right click on the volume icon > open sound settings and you can test your microphone there. If you have multiple input devices you also have to select the correct one. If you see changes in the mic audio graph then you’re good to go

Connecting a microphone to a computer is not difficult. There are many ways you can do this and it also depends on what you want to achieve. You can connect your microphone directly to your PC SoundcardORConnect with an audio interface. I would recommend that you purchase a high-quality studio microphone if you intend to use an interface.ORA USB Microphone allows you to connect directly to your computer. You need a XLR to USB Cable for the connection.I believe you will find this article useful. All the best!
