My mouth keeps watering?
I've been drinking a ton of water lately because my doctor told me I was dehydrated. I also have a phobia of vomiting and vomit in general. People say that their mouth waters before they vomit but I don't feel sick, and I don't recall that happening to me before I get sick. Does anyone else have this when they drink a lot of water?

Hey guys my mouth has been filling up with saliva to the point where I have to keep swallowing or spitting it out. I know this might sound kind of weird, perhaps. My mouth fills with saliva even when I'm not hungry or think about food. I'm really curious to what may be causing this problem? Or if there is a medical condition or an issue with glands inside my mouth, perhaps? Thank you guys so much!! Appreciate it!! :)

If this has been going on persistently, I suggest that you go see your doctor for advice and treatment options. Based on what you are saying, I suspect that what you are experiencing is acid reflux. This occurs when contents of the stomach escape into the esophagus and wash up into the back of the throat. This typically occurs because the muscle between the esophagus and the stomach relaxes, allows the stomach contents to escape.There are numerous foods that can be associated with relaxation of this muscle and worsening acid reflux. These include tomatoes, chocolate, coffee, and alcohol, among others. Furthermore, there are a few anatomical conditions that are associated with worse reflux, such as achalasia and hiatal hernia.Your doctor will probably want to start by having you work on eliminating foods that might be worsening the reflux as well as avoid alcohol and tobacco. They will probably also suggest trying an antacid medication. Typically the trial of these medications requires a month or two to see if they are going to work or not. If the symptoms persist, your doctor may want to try a different medication or they may refer you to a gastroenterology specialist.

Drink lots of water before, during and after. It helps a lot to clear your mouth. Also when you briefly pause for breathing, try to suck the spittl back in :) I'm a flute player and a singer so I often deal with this issue
