Should I let my mother-in-law buy us a crib? (warning VERY long)?
She directly said to me (while Tina was in the shower and couldn't hear, she acts like a battered wife!) "I want you to have the crib that you want" Now I know this is silly, she is a very nice a generous woman and I should just accept that she wants to get us something nice, especially since it was her shower gift. But my MIL has a track record of trying to "buy" love. She actually thought that her son wouldn't care if Tina stayed as long as she bought him things, and he's been miserable for the past 4 years because Tina has slowly been tearing the family apart. My MIL also threw in my face every single nice thing she has ever done for me during the nasty kicking us out fight. So I find myself not wanting her to buy us the crib. I feel like she is trying to "buy" me, and worse I feel like she is trying to buy my daughter. She doesn't understand that my husband wants his family back, and that I want to actually start a relationship with them, but the situation with Tina makes it imp

I can't answer your question, but I wonder why your family is doing NOTHING about your sister. If I had a 19 year old daughter who behaved this way, I would get her some help, even if I had to have her committed. You didn't say how long it's been since the baby was born (maybe a year, according to your first sentence?), but this sounds like postpartum depression or a different mental health problem. Either way, your sister needs help. She is incapable of mothering her child until her emotional needs are cared for. The baby needs a mother, not a judgmental and rejecting family. If your sister can get help and turn her life around, she will then be able to take appropriate care of her child, and they will both win. She needs all the support you can give her, even if it means that your family cares for the baby until she gets treatment.
Is this a normal relationship between mother and son?
my boyfriend & i are both 19. we have been together for 2 years. we were talking about getting a house soon but his mum is saying that he will be at home for atleast 3 years. she babies him with everything. she makes his food & drinks she even baby feeds him cough medican when he is ill. he doesn't even know how to use a tin opener. i have only recently been allowed round his house (not stay over) but if we go to his room we have to have the door open & im not allowed to sit next to him or on his bed. he stays round my house once a week & when he goes back she will cry because she missed him. he has tea at home most nights but when he has tea with me she will get upset cuz he doesnt care about his family. she doesnt knock on his door & will still stay in there even if he is naked. she tells him not 2go 2 work & she will pay him to stay at home with her. she always wraps her arms round his neck. he doesnt think this is strange and thinks im mental because i find it weird. is it just me?
Why do parents always tamper with your life and assuming things when their not true?
My mom is so annoying. She always assumes I do nothing in the house when I do more than her! And she's upset with me because she thinks i have a boyfriends when i dont and she thinks i'm lying and stuff.... And she tells me i have too many needs, and wants and she thinks I only like my dad better because he gets me nice things.... And She is saying that, even though she a has a crap load of clothes and coach purses and ****. And shee is always telling me to come out of my room, And i dont spend enough time downstairs with the family! Well, what the hell am I supposed to do with the family? And she spoils my little brother and sister and when I try to teach them a lesson, she gets mad at me!! Well, someone has to take charge and she isnt the one!!
