My My Gsd Just Gave Birth To 8 Puppies

HELP..my dog just gave birth and she dont have no milk and the puppy keep crying what should i do?

If the mother is still giving birth she won't always have milk right away. Sometimes it takes a couple of hours for her to relax enough to release her milk. Keep the pups warm and dry and with the mother. Their crying will actually help to trigger her milk. If there is still no milk in about 6 - 8 hours, then you can get puppy replacement milk to give them. Take them and the mother to the vet to find out why she does not have milk for her puppies. It won't hurt the puppies to go for 6-8 hours without being fed right after they are born. They should be well nourished from their time in the womb. Please do not give them normal cows milk as they cannot digest it. If you feel that you must give them something tonight, then give them cooked turkey that has been run through the food processor or blender until it is a smooth paste.

Dog peeing all over the house after having puppies... What to do?

my dog had 8 puppies a month ago and pees in the house constantly now! It is to the point that my husband wants to get rid of her... Is this normal? (I don't think it is) How do I make her stop! She is let out more than enough in a day... She is pooping everywhere too. She has peed in the house 3 times today alone and pooped on our couch, just in the last 8 hours or so! Please help me! I don't want to get rid of her, but if this does not stop I don't see any other option.

PS: She is perfectly healthy. We have already ruled out a doggy UTI.

My dog gave birth and now is hiding under the bed. is this normal?

My dog gave birth to 8 puppies two days ago. The pups seem to be in good health, and she seems ok too. She is in a bedroom with the pups, separate for my other 2 dogs. However, there are moments that all of the sudden she cries and try to hide under the bed ( she has some trouble fitting, she is a large dog). Also she doesn't seem to want to spend a lot of time with the pups, she goes into the whelping box for about 5 minutes and leaves. I am really worry...help please

How long after a dog has puppies do you have to wait to spay her?

after she is dried up
just some suggestions
mom and pups should be seen by the vet within 24 hours after giving birth
pups to make sure they are suckling good and no health issues
mom to make sure all has been passed if a pup or placenta is retained this could cause
fatal infection that could kill both mom and pups
the pups and mom should be wormed at 2,4,6,8 and 10 weeks old
the male should not be allowed near the pups until 6-8 weeks old
the pups should begin to be weaned with moistened puppy food ( dry) which is what mom should be on already and if not switch her over now this is for the nourishment the mom needs for carrying and nursing
the pups should get first vaccination at 6-7 weeks old and stay together with mom until 8-10 week old

What defines how many puppies a dog would have in one pregnancy?

The maximum and average number of puppies depend on the breed of the dog, then there are individual circumstances like the age of the bitch and if she's had puppies before. Average litter size across all breeds is 5-6 puppies, but it varies greatly across breed and from litter to litter. Miniature and small breeds average 3-4 puppies in each litter, going up to a maximum of about 5-8. Large and giant breeds average 7 puppies per litter but can have a maximum of about 15.The number of puppies also varies with the mother's age. In smaller breeds, both young and old age are associated with smaller litter size. In larger breeds, only old age is associated with smaller litter size. I have border collies and my bitch has had 8 and 7 puppies in her two litters and several of my friends got 10 in their first litter. After that, the single most important factor is if the mating took place at the optimum time, i.e. just after ovulation. For each day off that perfect timing, there will be fewer puppies since there will be fewer sperms left to impregnate the egg (if too early) or fewer eggs left to impregnate (if too late).
