Why do people hate outdoor cats?

I see why people do. I personally don't but I do keep my cats indoors.

When living on a farm and having cats, its good to have outdoor cats so they can catch mice, moles, pigeons etc. Also some cats do like being outside. Some people don't like having there cats outside because there is more chance of diseases/infections. If some have a expensive or rare breed of cat they don't let there cats be outdoor in case they get stolen.

Some don't like there cats outside because they don't like the thought of someone else leaving food or water out for there cats or they don't know what's happening with there cats.

I personally don't mind outdoor cats, its the owners choice and it doesn't bother me and if the cats are healthy and happy, who am I to judge or get involved?

Some cats like to be indoors, some don't. Cats can be happy being indoors just as much as outdoor cats.

Hope this answer actually answered your question. :)

Why cats hate water, take baths ?

i don't think they do as much as we think they do...my cat will play in the water sometimes. she won't swim in it, but she will put her paws in it and splash around like a racoon washing something.

My cat hates my roommate's cat?

My new roommate moved in over four months ago now. She has a big, hyper cat that is about a year old. He is an indoor only cat, is extremely playful and likes to bite and claw, but is also very affectionate. He is actually quite annoying, but provides for some entertainment too. My cat is a petite female, almost four years old, and she is very calm. She is an indoor/outdoor cat. She HATES the new cat. When she is inside, he stalks her endlessly, and pounces on her. He will literally roll her around on the floor, and she will be making HORRIBLE noises that I can hear all the way upstairs. They attack each other and have left scratches. My roommates before also had a younger female cat who would stalk my cat as well, but it wasn't as bad as this. My cat has never liked other cats, and was raised as a single cat for most of her life. She is so tense when she is inside, my roommates cat has basically kicked her out of her own home. It makes me really resentful. My cat hides when she is inside, and will only cuddle with me when she is in my room with me with the door shut. She never wants to leave my room because the other cat is ALWAYS waiting for her right outside my door. I have used feliway, I have used a spray bottle on the other cat. Everything I do just provokes him more--he is sooo hyper and my roommate refuses to let him outside. My cat has turned from a happy, calm cat to a nervous recluse. I feel so bad for her! Any recommendations?

Why do some people absolutely hate cats?

In folklore there are stories of cats being considered evil. Even in the early colonial days with the Salem witch hunt trials cats were considered somehow linked to the devil. A lot of the people who are in jail because of murder are known to have a history which started off with torture of animals. I also believe that some people act the way they do with cats is because of the way they were raised. If the parents and grandparents didn't like cats and if someone never had a cat growing up then they really do not understand them. Cats are an individual and somewhat aloof and more solitary than dogs.

If a person does not like cats I feel that he/she has not yet met the right cat. Many people that don't like cats will eventually come around if a cat goes out of the way to earn the trust of a person.
