My Pc Always Gets Viruses

How come my Laptop is always getting Viruses?

About every 2 weeks my internet connection stops working, and i keep getting messages from my computer that it is infected with dangerous viruses, that can do alot of damage. And the only internet page that will open is one for opening an anti-virus. after that my laptop works fine, but its costing me alot to keep on having to buy that, does anyone know what the root of the problem is please?

Why does my computer keep getting viruses?

It's driving me crazy. This is the fourth time I've had to do a system restart and I've done nothing wrong. My computer keeps getting viruses everywhere I go and I even have a virus protector (Norton). I typed in a torrent website, one I've visited ninety times before and nothing went wrong when I got the stupid virus. And what really makes me mad is my husband, who doesn't even have a virus protector, can do whatever he wants and look up whatever he wants (he's sifted through dozens of torrent sites and things like that) and his computer doesn't get anything.

So I guess my question is why can my husband's computer not get a virus and mine does and is there anything else I can do to not get these viruses? I am sick of restarting my computer!! Where do these viruses keep coming from?!?!

Why does watching porn online always affect a computer with viruses? ?

Many sites are infested, but some are not.I would get a good virus protection software like Kaspersky or other rated good, with good reviews.Computer freezing could be your hardware going bad or it could be that the websites try to load alot of extra stuff like scripts or ads in the page you visit to watch the material or whatever you search. Porn sites are really popular so that is one of the best ways to spread the viruses to other people on the net.I would download FireFox and then get the extension No-Script and you can select what you want to load.It takes some time to get use to it,but it will dramatically reduce unneeded stuff from popping up like links in the website which usually lead to unknown sites that may or may not contain viruses.Scan anything you download on the web, regardless of what it is.Make nothing is starting up when the computer is booting or if any computers are connected to your computer via some unauthorized method to establish a connection with your pc or home network.

Will a fresh Windows install remove all viruses on my PC?

“D drive is infected” - a drive cannot be infected. You can only have files on drive D that are infected. I will assume those are cracks, key generators, or pre-cracked games. Only exe and dll can have viruses, not pictures, movies or music (unless it is exe files that has faked icon to make it look as a picture, movie, song or something else). The only way is to delete those. There is no point cleaning the system if you keep infected files. An antivirus program will do that for you (or quarantine it, it is the same, file is gone). Then also the system files on C drive will be infected because of those crack files that you ran. A clean install of C drive will get rid of those. If those are not pirated files, then you may have gone to a xxx website (or other website that was hacked) and clicked on faked “flash plugin needs to update” or “codec is missing” popup that was actually a virus, you downloaded it and installed it. There is no chance it modified system files without your consent in form of UAC dialog, asking if you are sure you want to run it.I have not seen a virus in over 10 years, unless someone brings me a computer with it, and you may be surprised, but most are MacBooks. Pirating content is just looking for trouble but otherwise it is just common sense not to download and install anything from sources that are not 100% credible. Update everything manually from the original program site. invest an extra effort to make sure you are on original site of the program developer, make sure you read all steps of the installation process and don’t agree installing anything prebundled with a program. So far Windows Store apps are 100% safe, so look for all programs there first. You can always ask on quora or other website what is the best and proven program for x purpose.

A shortcut always gets created whenever I insert any pendrive or hard disk in my Windows 7 laptop. The pen drive opens in my laptop but in other devices it shows that it is infected. How can I remove the virus?

** To gain temporary access to your pen drive files**Open Start Menu/Start Screen, search for 'Command Prompt'. When it comes up, right click the icon and click on 'Run as Administrator'.You should get a black screen with a white prompt and blinking dash.Let's say your pendrive letter is G:\.There type in "G:" (without quotes) and press Enter. Now type in the following and press Enter"attrib * -h -s /d /s" (again without quotes)Now you might have to wait for a while until the blinking dash reappears. Then type this and press enter:"del *.lnk"Now open your pen drive in Windows Explorer. You should see a folder with no name. Open it and you should get the contents of your pen drive there. Move all the contents to the main folder (root) of the pen drive. Now if you had double clicked any of the shortcuts in the past your computer is surely infected and every time you reinsert the pen drive, the shortcuts will reappear. To disinfect your computer you have to perform the following steps.** To remove the virus completely**Install this software: Dr. Web Cureit (http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/...)Open it and run a full scan (not an express scan). After some time you will get the results and it will ask you what to do with them. Click on Fix/Remove or any similar option that comes up.Then finally restart your computer. Now after starting up again you will see that reinserting the pen drive doesn't make the shortcuts reappear.Congrats! You just manually removed the shortcut virus!Source: Sumit DT's answer to My PenDrive has been making shortcuts in itself and I've lost my data because of it. How do I go about removing this virus?

Does PirateBay.com give viruses to your computer?

Sadly yes, but only if you use Internet Explorer. It's not the website itself but the ads on it. I always get 'blocked' warnings from my browser (Google Chrome) and anti-virus (avast! Free) but I thought it was just a small harmless thing. One day I use the site on a customer's computer (with Internet Explorer and no anti-virus) and the next thing I know the thing is infected with a scam virus.

I use the website several times daily on my computer and I never have any problems. It's just a problem with IE, so if you use IE then I suggest you download either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Look them up, they're free and in many ways better than IE.

The things you download from the site (through a torrent client) are usually not infected because the site is moderated, so if someone uploads an infected file then the user gets banned. Always check the comments section, if there's a virus then every single comment will complain about it. These usually don't stay up long before getting deleted. Certain types of files (illegal piracy tools) are often falsely labeled as malware by certain anti-viruses, so sometimes a user will complain but there's always another user to clarify it.

How can I sort out my PC, it has a virus problem?

Hi, I currently quite a bad virus / adware problem with my PC.
Every so often when I'm searching for something on Google, the browser will automatically redirect me to a site called "lemonmeringue.us" and then onto another site, usually another search engine.
As well as that, I keep hearing advertisements on my PC even when Internet Explorer's not open.
It won't let me check for plugins, it just says "Looking for toolbars and extensions", but nothing ever seems to load.
I've tried getting rid of this / these viruses using multiple different programs; Malwarebytes, Spybot Search and Destroy, AVG and Windows Defender, and although some of these programs have found and apparently got rid of different viruses, the problem remains.
By the way, I've noticed my computer is also generally slower to boot, to run and also to shut down.
So, how can I fix this? Do I have to reinstall Windows and just forget trying to get rid of this virus or what?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do mac computers get virus'?

Techically it is possible that mac can get virus.

But it is a unix based system, some the development of any malware has to be completely different, and also there is no one really interested much in making mac malware.

The only malware I have seen in past year that work on mac are DNS trojans (not virus, but a differnt type of malware) But unless you like pirated software or porn, you might never see it.
