Psychologically, why do some people choose to have pen pal relationships and other relationships with people on death rows?
A2A. I don’t know so I will give my hunch. I have a certain mysterious fascination with murderers. I read books about them, read about executions, etc. it is kind of a taboo type thing or perhaps a macabre type of thing. I have read the operating instructions for the Tennessee Electric Chair, I’ve read how to make a shrunken head, what human flesh tastes like to cannibals (we taste like pork). While I am facinated by these things I will say that when I read about them it leaves a sour feeling in my soul. But my curiosity is quite strong. So I suspect people communicate with death row inmates for similar reasons.
