My Photoshop Cs5 Doesn`t Have Animation Window

Why does my Photoshop CS5 only allow me to see one frame of a GIF, and how do I fix that?

depends on how you're trying to open it, and whether or not you have the extended version of Photoshop. If you don't see "3D" in the menu between "Analysis" and "View", then you don't have the extended version and can't do animation (or 3D).

If you do see "3D" in the menu, then:

File > Open "should" load with no problem in CS5, but in earlier versions you had to "import" gifs (file > import) and then use wildcards "*.*" for the filename and extension to show all files and formats, so you can find the gif files (otherwise they were hidden using "import").

If you're using a torrent version of CS5 then you're probably using CS4 or lower and they messed with the files a bit to make it SEEM like you're using CS5.

Adobe Photoshop 7: Doesn't open GIF files with many frames?

If you have Adobe Phostoshop 7.0 - it's ancient - it couldn't open GIFs for animating - you would have needed to use Image Ready which came with the software.

That version of Photoshop never had an animation window or a timeline. It's out-dated - defunct, dead as a dodo.

Modern versions of Photoshop - CS6 and Elements 11 can both open animated GIFs for editing.

The video frames import option is only available in Photoshop CS6 Extended (and previously Cs4 and CS5) which costs $999 - or if you get Photoshop CS6 as a single app on the Adobe Creative Cloud, then it also supports motion content editing ($20 per month) including importing video frames.

Image Ready now no longer forms part of Adobe's modern creative suite - all the functionality of that program was added to Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended.

Even GIMP the free image editor can open animated GIFs for editing http://www.gimp.org - for video import you also need to add the GAP (GIMP Animation Package) plugin which is also free http://photocomix-resources.deviantart.c...

Gifs save static from photoshop?

So, when you open it up in Finder (most image viewers do not support animated gifs), or upload it to tumblr - which has very poor support for animated gifs, you are wondering why it isn't animating?

Click and drag the gif into your browser, that way you will see it animating. GIFs are meant to be viewed in browsers. As to your tumblr problem, host the image somewhere else like tinypic, and post the image URL in an IMG tag in html in a text post in tumblr.
