If she's 58 days or more along, it's possible she's in labor.If, however, she's not due yet she may just be “winded.” Her heart is working for several, after all. Lay her down somewhere soft and comfortable and stroke her gently while cooing soothingly. If she hasn't caught her breath after ten or fifteen minutes, she's probably low on iron, in which case some calve's liver or blackstrap molasses is in order. Unfortunately, both are likely to give her diarrhea, but iron supplements should only be used under the supervision of a vet, if at all. At least liver and molasses are safe in reasonable amounts.Also, if she's getting winded easily, it's time to cut out any and all strenuous exercise until after she whelps. Towards the end of gestation, it's not a bad idea to sleep with her (On the floor. The last thing she needs is to fall off a bed) and use a small pillow or rolled up blanket to prop her head to keep her airways completely open. I've found they sleep like the dead during the last few days.

Around 1pm she started panting, its gotten heavier as time went on. It happens every 5-10 minutes or so. She's only been eating a tiny bit. And keeps turning around. You asked this question 6 days ago, but apparently have done nothing to plan for these puppies - including NOT taking her to the vet. And, you say this pregnancy wasn't planned!!!! What??! You have an intact male and an intact female - therefore, it WAS planned. You need to get in touch with a vet now! You have no idea what you're doing. Chis are notorious for needing C-sections. Call your vet now! Then make an appointment to neuter your male and as soon as the pups are weaned, have the female spayed. That's how you plan!

Has it been roughly 63 days since she was mated? If so, yes it's probably labor. If not, or if you aren't sure, it's time to call the vet. In fact, call the vet anyway and get a line of communication going in case you have questions or something goes wrong.

Okay, So I bred my dog of course 56 days ago, and just yesterday she first started shaking and then started panting, we were up with her all night thinking she was going to give birth, But it turned out that she wasn't. Now just today She started her panting and shaking again, we already have her whelping box ready and put her up there. She does have milk in her and there is a clear discharge coming from her vagina. I do know that they have clear fluid coming out before they give birth. But I just wanted to know what you think. When are you guessing she will have her pups?
