My Prescriptions Were Stolen And I Made A Police Report. I Need The Report For New Medicine How

My drug abusing boyfriend stole my prescriptions and I called the police.I thought I was helping!?

You cannot help an addict and based on the info you gave, YOUR EX BOYFRIEND IS ALREADY AN ADDICT AND PROBABLY WAS ALL ALONG. You convinced yourself because you cared for him that you could help him and that he would get better. Junkies will tell you what you want to hear, then do whatever they need to do to get that next high. Being involved with a junkie will cause your world to spin out of control just as theirs has. And it gets progressively worse as their desire for the drugs get stronger and they need more to maintain only a minimal high.

Take comfort in the fact that you didn't allow him to talk you into getting more involved than he did. And you did all you could.

History tells us that addicts don't just get better without some type of major intervention, ie , rehab, jail, major life-changing event (rock bottom). Maybe, this is his.

Sorry to be so harsh but I've seen this same scenario played out numerous times. Instead of Donald, change the name but the outcomes are very similar.

My prescription was stolen, can i press charges?

Yes, report it...depending on your states law Adderal is a dangerous drug and she can be arrested. She will spend a little time in jail and have to go to court over it....plus if she is convicted of the crime it will be easier for a possible custody battle later on (I am evil)....

A coworker stole prescriptions from my purse at work and my employer refuses to pull the tape. Should I call the police?

Awesome answer from Jon Mixon, Gina Bowman. So lets mash them together,Adding this YOU are not Law Enforcement!Telling your Employer puts them on notice, so now what they do or do not do looks bad on them.So Without YOU present the Manager should review the tapes to see when and who took the meds. Then take action against that person. Now what I would have done is told my BOSS then called 911 using the STORES phone to report the theft. All business are responsible for the safety of the staff and reasonable accommodations for lockers for belongings. So now that a Officer is rolling to get your report and to get Video of the crime the BOSS has some serious choices to make. There is a thing called CHAIN OF EVIDENCE and if you are in possession of the video that chain has been broken and that evidence CAN NOT BE USED.So now you have an upset BOSS because you got the LEOs involved in their business due to their LACK of providing a safe and secure workplace.Keep all your documentation in case the Company decides to retaliate against you.So long as you have not broken any company policies they can not touch you, if they do it can be retaliatory and you can then SUE them for this.I would lock your things up in your car or leave as much as you can at home if you can.Schedule Drugs are required to be in the Pill bottle with YOUR prescription on the bottle. This is Federal DEA Law not state or county or even city. There are companies (Pharmacies) that can fill prescriptions in a BAG with dosages so you do not carry your entire month’s prescription with you everywhere.PridePharmacyGroup.com is one such company that does this. (Pride Pack)I worked at this pharmacy as the IT Infrastructure consultant and learned many things here. This package has passed every USDEA rule and regulation.A Dallas PD officer arrested a client over the package, but charges were later dropped and the City settled the resulting lawsuit. I was there when we pulled the information to this patented product and presented it to their lawyer. Open and shut $200,000.00 and expunged record. It was over without making it to the news.I would suggest that you look into such a pharmacy and that type dosage packaging.

What happens if you lose prescription medication before the refill date? Can you get replacement pills or do you have to wait?

This is a sticky situation to be in and no mistake! I “lost” nearly a full pack of Adderall once and it really threw me into a spin as I need those meds to function properly. What I suspect is my flat-mate nicked it from out the medicine cabinet. It was there Thursday night and gone Friday morning! So what I do now is bend the blister packs and keep them in my wallet. What really saved my bacon is having along relationship with both my doctor and pharmacist. The pharmacist was sympathetic but insisted on a new prescription. As I’d been going to that pharmacy for years, the manager was willing to call up the doctor and explain the situation. Luckily the doctor, who first prescribed it for my ADHD, knew I had a genuine condition and wasn’t a chancer. So he was willing to fax over a new prescription there and then.So my advice is to find a good doctor and pharmacist and then stick to them like glue! It takes time to build up trust as a patient but once you’ve got it then it’s alot easier to deal with this sort of problem.

Pain medication stolen - what happens now?

Take the police report to your doctor. Your insurance might not pay, but the doc should refill the script.

You can copy the report and send it to your insurance company if they don't pay.

Been there, done that.

Last ditch effort, it will cost you but it is better than going cold turkey, go to the emergency room and tell them your knee is killing you and you need meds and can't wait for your doc.

If my roommate stole my xanax and I file a police report, what is going to happen?

I know she stole over half of my prescription. I am not seeking vengeance, however, I am prescribed that medication for a reason. And Xanax because a controlled substance, my doctor cannot write me a refill without a police report. I don't want her to go to jail, but what she is doing is wrong. Has anyone ever done this before or know what might happen?

Is it true the police cannot arrest you for reporting marijuana that was stolen from you?

I've read in the local paper over the years of at least 3 or 4 incidents where people reported their illegal drugs being stolen, they were always arrested and charged. I don't know if about convictions I didn't follow the cases.I also recall at least two times someone reported having money stolen from them, one turned out the guy didn't steal anything he owed for drugs he had “fronted”. He was not arrested but the one who called the police was arrested and faced numerous charges. The other incident turned out the person was robbed of drugs not money, both were charged.one other I just remembered just a year or two ago, a white college girl reported being mugged by a black man, who stole her prescription of percocet, which turned out she was telling the truth. Except for one minor detail she had forgotten to mention she was attempting to sell her prescription. He wasn't charged but she was. I'm assuming he must have cut a deal.So if you live in Vermont I wouldn't suggest reporting stolen Marijuana, though it's no longer criminal under an ounce, but still illegal. How other states would handle the situation is beyond me I'd imagine you'd go to jail without passing go.

My prescription for Xanax (Alprazolam) was stolen today and I have been on 4mg per day for the last 4 years for severe panic attacks but my doctor refuses to replace lost or stolen scripts. What is going to happen to me?

I am going to be honest with you. You may want to consider going to an emergency room or after hours clinic to see if you can at least get a few tablets to hold you over.I don't mean because of the panic attacks...those will not kill you. 4mg of Xanax is a HUGE dose and you are going to have withdrawals, and they are going to be bad, and they can be dangerous.I have been through Xanax and Valium withdrawals and they make the worst panic attack seem like nothing. The real reality is that your doctor was being irresponsible to put you on such a high dose to begin with. I worked in pharmacy for many years and yes, people do lie and will say anything to get medications, but when they really do get stolen there is nothing in place to protect innocent people who have been prescribed such dangerous drugs.I'm not trying to freak you out (anxiety does that good enough for you) but going from 4mg of Xanax to 0 is going to be pretty bad, so I would personally see about getting something at an ER type facility. What I would also do is talk to your doctor about switching to a drug that works longer than Xanax, like Valium. It is not quite as powerful, but it stays in your blood for so long that withdrawals are much less painful.Ultimately (and I KNOW you don't want to hear this) you need to work on a very very very slow tapering process so that you can live without ANY of these drugs. I promise you there is life without benzo's if you want it. Then you never again have to worry about having meds lost or stolen.Hope that helps.learn more at: Natural Remedies for Anxiety - Deal With Anxiety Without Drugs

What can be done if a prescription for xanax is lost before it is brought to pharmacy?

If it was lost there's only 1 thing that some Drs MAY DO for you IF you're a long standing patient. If you tell them it was lost SOME (if your lucky) Drs MAY call in the Rx for the Xanax for you BUT the Drs who will do this will make notes in your records that the original was lost ,some may even make you sign an agreement that IF the script is found you WILL return it to the office I mmediatly then you get a lecture on being careless But I'll warn you DO NOT LOSE another rx then you'll be looking at a discharge…this is only for controlled rx meds. ( any abusable med) If you were to lose one for say an antibiotic the dr or staff simply calls another 1 in or faxes the rx to the pharmacy.. P.S. NEVER LOSE AN RX FOR ANY NARCOTIC PAIN MED OR ANY SCHEDULE 2 MED…ANY CII RXS WILL NOT BE REPLACED whether its for pain or say an amphetamine…docs now refuse to even replace CII scripts even if you are ROBBED &file a police report! So be careful and if you're a woman do NOT carry any scheduled (abusable) RxS in a purse if their not being filled ASAP.

Is it against DEA law to write another prescription to a patient whose entire narcotic prescription was stolen from their home, with an accompanying police report?

It is not against the law, but it maybe against individual doctor’s policy or standards of practice.Police report filed by patient about “stolen “ pills is not in any way, shape, or form an evidence, although some doctors might take it seriously.I tell my patients that police report has no influence whether I re-write control substance script or not. ( I am not claiming that all such reports are fake, but a lot of them are)Moreover, I pay taxes so police can catch robbers and murderers and not waist their time and my money on filling dubious reports.
