My Ps4 Screen Looks Odd

Weird Messages On TV Screen?

Ok, so here's the story. A couple of years back weird messages started popping up in a black dialog box on my TV screen. At first I thought it was just something wrong with my TV, because it was just a bunch of weird symbols, numbers and letters. I thought maybe some kind of electrical signal or programming in the TV was malfunctioning causing the messages to appear. But last night the same thing happened except it said I;GOT;YOU just like that, with the semicolons between the words. This has happened in two different apartments so I don't think it has anything to do with my cable service/ internet. The messages just pop up randomly, like in the middle of watching something. Is it possible for somebody to hack your tv through a computer? I don't know of any other explanation for it. I never thought anything of it until an actual message showed up like last night. I;GOT;YOU... Kinda creepy, no?

Is a 120Hz 1080p tv good for gaming?

Consider 3D TV sets from Samsung or Panasonic as the best choice for gaming.
240 Hz is 2nd best, and 120 Hz is a tad too slow, but adequate. Keep in mind the PS4 will be doing 3D in the future, so don't limit yourself with 120 Hz if you can afford 3D, ok?

You're going to have that TV for years...not months.

Why do pictures of screens look weird?

That's because it takes 1/30th of a second for the full screen to draw, but the first pixels are already fading by the time the draw finishes. Your optical nerves work differently than a camera and persistence of vision let's you see this as a constant frame or image. To shoot a screen with a camera you need to use a shutter speed that is exactly 1/30th of a second. If your are shooting with a phone, you don't have direct control over shutter speed, so that's why it always looks funny.

X and Y axis switched in Resident Evil 5 PC Version?

Yesterday I bought the PC version of Resident Evil 5, and have been trying to play it with my USB Logitech Dual Action controller, but it seems the x and y axis are switched on my right analog stick.

Switched, not inverted, so no in game options can do anything to fix it (I've tried). Meaning that when I move the right analog stick up or down, the player looks left or right, and vice versa. Oddly enough the left analog stick works fine.

It's not a controller issue; it works perfectly with all my other games.

Does anyone know how I can remedy this issue?

What LED or LCD TV is good for gaming?

(Boy am I glad you asked before buying)

Those models are all bad for gaming.

You have 2 problems:

LCD panels have motion blur with fast moving objects. To reduce the problem, the better models offer "120 hz" refresh which cuts the problem in half. All your selections are only 60 hz so you are guaranteed to have motion blur.

You have decided on a 1080 panel because it must be 'better' - right? In truth you cannot see a difference in the picture on a 720 vs 1080 panel if the sizes are below about 40 inches.

The recommended seating distance for a 39" display is 4.4 feet according to the THX rules, but you are sitting 10 feet away?

Your girl's xbox has games formatted for a 720 display so the television will have to take time to up-convert every frame of video to 1080. This can take a sizable amount of time and create an effect called "Gamer Lag".

BASICALLY: All the models you have selected will be HORRIBLE for what you want to do and how far away you are sitting.

You want a Plasma display to eliminate motion blur.
You want a 720 panel to reduce gamer lag.
You want a name brand because they tend to use faster electronics which can also reduce gamer lag.

Look for a non-smart Plasma by Panasonic or Samsung.

SMART TELEVISION

The higher end Samsung models do a good job with their smart apps. For everything else - one of the small external media servers like the Western Digital TV Live box ($90) or the Roku box ($60) give you more apps, get better support and work a lot better than the 'smart' televisions or bluray players.

Save money by looking for the non-smart models, then add a WD box later for streaming.

Hope this helps.

How does 1080p gaming look on a 32-inch 4k monitor for couch gaming?

I would think that it would look pretty good, games are not set to a particular screen resolution, it will appear in 4K at least modern games will, it may not have as high a sharpness to the image as a game designed for 4K but it will be very smooth. You will not need to run Anti-Aliasing (I have no idea if that's spelled right, and neither does my tablet) this both makes the image look sharper and greatly reduces the load on your graphics processor, speeding everything up.Since the process is to make images smoother and less pixelated especially the edges of things it just isn't needed.PS. I just came back to add that I agree that there is no reason to buy a 4K monitor that is only 32″.I’m going to buy a new computer in the near future and I’ve opted to get a new Ultra Wide 21 to 9, 34″ monitor that displays 2560 by 1080p or maybe 3440 by 1440p, but even that may be overkill on a screen you are looking at from so close.I’m going to go to Bestbuy and look at them in person before I make up my mind.

Can we play AAA games on Ps4 without any lags?

Absolutely, why do you think we cannot? PS4 is meant for playing graphic intensive games and it is the most powerful gaming device available at present. It will allow you to play the way games are actually meant to be played. I can bet on that. Once games are released on this platform whether it be 30fps or 60fps, games will run without fail. Sometimes games do hung or crash but it is due to the games bug. By the way AAA relates to the budget of the games and not to graphic intensive, it is the same meaning as blockbuster movies meaning huge budget.
