My Pup Burrys His Head Under My Arm Pit Or Uner My Legs

Why does my dog push his head between my legs?

I know the first thing you'll be thinking is that he's try to sniff me but it's not that at all. We'll be walking along and he'll be walking to heel beside me and then all of a sudden he'll push his head between my knees lol. I'm not sure what his behaviour means, whether he just wants attention/petting or he's scared or is it something else?

If it helps, he's a lab mix, a little over 1 year old, male. We got him from a rescue shelter on Saturday but he has already settled in perfectly.

Hope someone can help with this behavior! :)

My dog buries her head into my armpit very often why is this ?

Why does my dog bury her head in between my legs when i pet her?

A lot of dogs do that to try and get closer to their owner, it's not normally about what's between your legs, but more so the fact that they want to be as close to you as they can. If it was a male dog that was trying to jump you after then that would be different.

Why do dogs burry their heads in laps/arms/pillows?

My husky mix does the same (don't you just love that breed?!). It sounds like when he does that, he is getting ready to hunker down to catch some ZZZ's. In the wild, wolf packs will cuddle up close together to make a big, fuzzy dog knot to keep each other warm and to make that family bond closer. You've seen pups sleep like that before, right (faces in butts, feet and legs all spalyed out in their siblings way)? It is the same thing. Your husky is just telling you in his language, "Love you! I keep you safe! I keep you warm! You are my family!"

Why does my dog stick his head between my legs?

He's a very energetic dog and he does it out of nowhere and will just come up to me and will just stand there with his head between my legs for a good minute. He's very friendly and loves people and other dogs and has never acted scared and done that with fear of something. He'll be happy, wagging his tail and just all of a sudden is there. He does it when I come home too. And I do think he considers me the Alpha. He listens to me above everyone else. Even my fiancé.

What does it mean when my dog puts her head on me?

It can mean a lot of different things depending on the dog and the situation. I could mean the dog simply wants physical contact while it naps. Or it could mean it’s looking for attention or food. Some people say that a dog laying it’s head on you is a dominate move, but I seen dominant dogs let pack mates lay their head or even entire bodies on them.

WHY DOES MY DOG GO IN BETWEEN MY LEGS?

This sounds strange, but chances are she feels very secure and protected there. From her point of view, you are in a very protective position over her and you were probably one of the first people to show her kindness in her life. She loves you, wants to be near you, and feels safe between your legs as odd as it seems.
