Are rats easy to look after?
Relatively easy, but you need to get yourself a lot of good information to read before you get them and keep it to hand even after they are settled in. You will need to clean the cage at least once a week, and maybe change the bed daily. Rats are intelligent and so can be potty trained, which would also need to be changed daily. You will need a lot of toys to prevent you rats becoming bored. Rats shouldn't need to visit a vet too much, unless you notice anything unusual, like excessive drinking, not eating, loose stools, strange breathing noises or discharge from eyes, nose or bum.
