I have a gold plated Kennedy half dollar. I'm wondering if it's worth anything?

The gold plating and added dates were added after it left the mint. The 1960 if the date JFK was elected president and 1985 would be 25 years later. The 1983 would be 20 years since his death. Some company to make a few bucks added the dates and the gold. The gold is a very thing layer and is worth only a few cents. It was probably sold in 1985 as a memento to JFK. It would have sold to his admires as a keepsake and is not really a collectible a coin collector would buy to add to his 1/2 dollar collection or use as an investment item. It is an ebay type item where a buyer comes to use and gives a bid, otherwise you need to go looking for the buyer. Coin dealers do not want it. Not all interesting items have a lot of value, in your case it would be a memory item for some one that say was 19 at the time like me. I know exactly where I was the minute JFK was shot. I will never forget. keep it, for it is a tribute to a great American who did not get the chance to reach his potential.

How bike dealers can cheat you in India?

Check the manufacturing date of the vehicle, sometimes dealers sell old vehicles.Insurance is an area where maximum cheating happens. Dealers are corporate agents of the insurance company hence the premium will be be much higher if we buy insurance from them. They also persuade to make us take policies of those insurance companies which give them more commission.Apart from this make sure that dealer provide you the necessary documents when buy a bike. 1) Registration certificate receipt (Proof of application). 2) Insurance original. 3) Invoice. 4) Dealer receipts. 5) RTO road tax receipt. 6) If temporary number provided ask for any written document proof. 7) Ensure that you dont get any fancy number plate. 8) Take a PDI checklist and do PDI on your own. 9) Dont sign any papers from dealer before you do PDI and are satisfied with the bike and that you get all the documents. 10) If there is a dealer satisfaction form given to you and dont accept any paper which says that you have taken delivery of bike before you are satisfied with everything. 11) Dont forget to take the tool kit and Operator manual and First aid kit. Took kit should contain all tools as mentioned in operator manual. 12) Take the Bike Battery Warranty card and get it stamped from the dealer. 13) Things to check- Free rotation of both tyres; no dragging brakes or clutch. For clutch put in 1st gear main stand and see the movement of the rear wheel if it rotates with high speed and force the clutch is dragging. 14) Check all electricals, signs of leakage and tyre manufacturer and odometer reading or condition of the tyres. 15) Check for the handlebar alignment by driving without hand on the handlebar (only if you can do this, dont risk your safety for it) and see for any pulling to the side. This can mean a defective chassis (bent one which cannot be rectified later) or defective handlebar ( which can be easily rectified). 16) Take both set of keys. 17) Take bill for any other accessories attached. 18) Dont go for Teflon, its a gimmick. 19) Dont forget to check the engine oil level otherwise you are doomed later on.Papers we must get from dealer when buy bikeEDITThanks to Sarath Vellani‘Do not sign anything without reading it and understanding it. Clarify every doubt however stupid it is. Dealers, sometimes, give out too many papers to sign with things written in mini sized fonts.’

I have a napoleon the third coin dated 1855. is this rare? or worth anything?

This is a 10 ("Dix") Centimes coin from France, from the reign of Napoleon III. It's a large copper coin; essentially France's 10 Cents coin from that era. (The larger denomination coins were minted in silver, and most of those were in the Francs denomination.)

The "BB" mintmark - and yes, one of the Bs overlaps, as you noted - means the coin was minted at the Strasbourg Mint. There were over 20 mints in France, each with their distinct mintmark; later coins minted without a mintmark were minted at the Paris Mint.

My venerable old 1999 edition of the Standard Catalog of World Coins gives catalog values of $2 in Fine condition, up to $45 in unworn, Uncirculated condition. Those are retail prices, what a dealer might charge a customer, and wholesale prices would be lower.

For more realistic pricing, that you might receive when selling to a dealer or in a person-to-person transaction, see this AllExperts response:

http://en.allexperts.com/q/Coin-Collecti...

The coin collecting expert there gives a range of values from $0.50 to $15.00, the latter for a coin that has very little wear (probably About Uncirculated in traditional grading).

Finally, here's an eBay search that will bring up current auctions of your 1855-BB 10 Centimes coin and many similar coins, so you can get a sense of what collectors are paying for these coins and how sellers are marketing them in their listings on eBay:

Can you find sewing machines at the thrift store?

Yes, you can - it's best to test them before buying. It's not a bad idea to bring your own sewing machine thread, a couple of different-style bobbins, some fabric scraps, and a variety of needles, since the machine can be missing any or all of these. My local Goodwill will even give you a 7-day return window to try the machine out and see if it works for you.
It's common to find basic machines in working order for between $40-$100, if you have time to look around, and sometimes you can do even better. If you purchase a used machine, it's a very good idea to take it to a local dealer for cleaning and regular maintenance - most machines need at least an annual 'checkup'.
The best deal I ever got was a $1000 machine at a garage sale for $2 - the only problem was that the built-in needle-threader was broken, and I could live with that. I use that machine constantly now.
Good luck!
