My Receiver Blinking But Not Lighting Up

Sony Receiver blinking "Protect" Message - Help!?

Double check all of your speaker wire connections. If any of the two wires to each speaker touch each other, it will disable the receiver because it's detecting a shorted circuit. A shorted speaker will cause the same issue, so you can try unplugging all of the speaker connections at the back, and turn the receiver on. See if the message appears or not. If it goes away, plug in one speaker wire/speaker at a time to determine the cause. If the message remains, the receiver may have an internal circuit breaker/fuse blown requiring repairs or replacement. If your receiver is two years old, and the cost of repair exceeds two or three hundred dollars, I'd certainly consider a new receiver, being that technology in surround sound have evolved quite a bit in that time. Good luck to you. ~Levi

AT&T U-Verse TV receiver won't power on & Network light is blinking?

Don't know what you've tried. Here are the basics for healing a troublesome U-verse receiver or DVR:

1. Unplug the power adapter from the outlet and leave it alone for at least 5 minutes.
2. Plug it in. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Depress the Power button on the receiver and hold it down for 15 seconds.
4. Release the button and allow the receiver to go through its boot up process.

Note: the process can take a very long time. You must be patient. Don't touch anything. You will see periods of nothing on the screen, plus periods of the circular progress circle that seem to go on indefinitely. Just let it all happen. If all is normal, your selected channel will appear when the bootup completes, maybe a total of 5 to 10 minutes or more.

If you do all that and it doesn't solve the problem, it's time to call U-verse customer service, 800-288-2020. Have your U-verse account number and 4-digit PIN handy.

Why do the lights of my Comcast modem keep blinking?

The main lights you want on the typical Comcast/Xfinity modem would be the “Power” light and the “Online” light. Both of those should be solid lights, not flashing. If “Power” is blinking then you have no power. If “Online” is blinking then you are not online, but the modem may be trying to find the online signal. As long as “Power” and “Online” are lit solid, the rest may be flashing or solid. Usually flashing would indicate that the option is in use, such as a “Wifi” light blinking may indicate that Wifi is in use. A “Phone” light blinking may indicate that the phone is in use.US/DS stand for Upstream and Downstream. If those are flashing while “Online” is lit solid, it would mean that they are in use. If they are flashing while “Online” is not lit solid then they may indicate that the modem is trying to find the signal to get online.

Craftsman Garage Door Opener Blinking a Green Light Remote Controls Not Working?

As of this morning the little green light on the wall mounted receiver/remote is blinking continuosly, and the door will not open or close if you use either of the remotes in our cars. The lights in the actual garage door opener on the ceiling blink twice but nothing happens. The door will open and close if you push the button on the wall, and if you use the wireless keypad. Any ideas what could be wrong??

Craftsman Garage Door Opener Blinking Green Light?

If the green light that is blinking is on the motor head it simply means that the receiver is picking up the signal from your remote. It always blinks when you use the remote. In fact it will blink when someone else in the neighborhood pushes their remote button. However theirs won't open or close the door. Stand in the garage at night w/ the lights off & you will probably see the light blink alot unless you live in a rural area. It blinks every time it picks up a signal, no matter where it's coming from.

Sounds like the photo-cell eyes are fogging over when it's cold outside. Is your garage heated by chance? Wipe the photo-eye lens off & that should solve the problem at the time it doesn't close. If they are fogging over you could try putting Rain-X on them but if the garage is heated they may still fog over enough to keep the door from working properly.

What is wrong with my IR receiver circuit?

I think you are pretty close. IR remotes send a binary message with a simple layered structure:The remote LED is never fully On but flashes at a rate of 38-60KHz. The IR receiver is tuned to this carrier in order to ignore other flickering light sources, like fluorescent lights or the like.Binary data is coded as pulses of different width. There are several standards but basically they may either keep the LED off for a fixed time and stretch the ON times as per the bit value, or vice-versa. During the ON time the LED blinks at the carrier freq. mentioned. On top of this, the message frame is made of a preamble, a sync segment, a payload and a tail. The preamble is just a row of pulses to help the receiver tune in to the carrier. The sync segment is a known bit pattern or silence (LED off) that basically tells the receiver: “preamble is over, here comes the data”.The payload is the actual data, typically device model, command code and a checksum or CRC word. The tail is a guard space to separate commands sent one after another, for example when pushing the volume button continuously. The IR receiver output may be open-drain, which means it will sink a current to ground in active state, or stay disconnected (high-impedance) otherwise. Logic states may be reversed, but in general the module will try to save power most of the time (high impedance when idle). These receivers have a tuned amplifier inside which is sensitive to noise. Some models have a metal case you can connect to your battery GND to shield it from noise.Check the datasheet to learn how exactly the receiver drives the output. Some modules have a limited current capacity, and connecting a big capacitor there would damage the output as it tries to discharge the capacitor to ground.

The red light in my wireless mouse is continuously flickering. The laptop shows the device is working properly but the pointer on the screen just doesn't move. How do I fix this at home?

You can follow the steps hope this will help to resolve your problemFirst, try checking your hardwareUnplug USB cables and wait for a little while for the device driver to be unloaded by Windows, and then plug the device back in.Try using a different USB port on your PC.If you use a USB hub between the device and the PC, make sure the hub has power. If it’s still not working, try removing the USB hub and plugging the device directly into a USB port on the PC.Make sure that the cables on your device aren't damaged in any way.Check any battery-powered devices to see if they are fully charged or have fresh batteries.Make sure there’s no dirt blocking keys or sensors.Check your wireless connectionsLook on the bottom of the wireless device for a Reset button. Resetting the device will disconnect and then reconnect the wireless connection. There might also be a Reset button on the USB receiver for your device. For USB wireless devices, this might be as simple as unplugging the USB wireless receiver, waiting for about 10 seconds, and then plugging the USB wireless receiver back into the USB port. The wireless connection should be reestablished.Check the deviceIf the device doesn't appear to work at all (no lights appear on the device when it’s plugged in, or the cursor doesn't move or doesn't appear on the screen), connect the device to another PC and make sure the device works on that PC. If the device doesn't work on the other PC, you might need to replace it.Regards ASDCredit .Microsoft support

How do you determine if the remote or the receiver is faulty?

You can check remote IR by using your mobile phone camera. The IR signal is visible in most mobile phone cameras.Keep pressing buttons on remote and check IR is visible on camera. If it is visible we can ensure that the IR is working. Now check IR receiver. Connect an LED through a resistor and check whether LED is blinking when remote button pressed. If sensor is on board solder this LED and resistor or connect out put to multimetr /oscilloscope.
