My Retron 5 Will Not Move When I Plug In A Controller

PS3 controller help!?

I have a ps3 controller that's acting a little funny. So i pick it up after months of not using it so i can play persona 5 and low and behold... the controller refuses to flash its usual red light. I'm like, okay let me push the reset button and... nothing. So i brought a replacement battery in the hopes it would work but.... nothing. The only thing that possobly tells me that it's not the battery is that when i plug the controller into my computer, it gives me the little sound indicator that its plugged in and 'on' I'm not sure if its because i'v used the controller on my pc before so its not processing correctly (which wouldn't make sense to me) or if its because the controller is simply shot but i would really appreciate not having to go out and buy a new dang controller when i initially spend $10 for a new cord, thinking it was the cord, then spent another $8 for a new battery, thinking it was the battery.

And i just bought a new damn game so. that's another 50 dollars gone.

and another 50 dollars towards a new controller if i need one.

This ps3 has rarely been used, tbh. The only times i'v played it was to binge play the kh series and persona sooo if anything, i've used it for avout 3-4 months. And this was last year/early january we're talking about. So what gives?

PS3 controllers not charging?

3 different controllers, 2 of them being brand new, aren't charging with this cable I have. Sometimes they'll charge for a few minutes then stop, other times they won't charge at all, then sometimes it'll just show a stable line when I plug it in. Is this just an issue with the cable or could something be up with the system? The cable is NOT the one that came with the PS3, but it didn't used to do this.

Ps3 Controller not charging?

I've just borrowed my friend's Ps3 Dualshock Controller because my old Afterglow Controller's L2 Button stopped working(as expected from a $20 Controller)

When I plug the charger into the controller, I have to hit the PS button a several of times until the 4 red lights flash
but when they do I get a message saying "The maximum amount of power stored into a USB device has been reached, please remove one device."
(one light stays still at this moment)
Immediately, right after I get that message. I get another message saying that "The Controller is out of charge"
then, that one light starts beeping again and runs out of charge.

I know it's not the controller because it worked perfectly on my Ps3 until it ran out of charge and it worked perfectly on my friend's Slim Ps3 aswell.

I've been using a wired Afterglow Controller so I know my Ps3 USB slot isn't bad.
If it is the charger, Are there any alternative ways to charging a Ps3 Controller?
or do I have to buy a new charger?

Please and Thank you.

Most of the Smasung smartphones are comes with inbuilt IR-blaster. But sadly, note 5 doesn’t have an IR-blaster and that's the reason behind this question.Well you can still use your note 5 as a remote control. There are millions of universal remote apps in the Google Play store but i would recommend using Peel TV remote app as this app is quite easy to set up, comes with a user-friendly navigation and has an optimized interface for tablet use, in particular. It lets you control all the menu options of your TV like play, pause, volume, select etc with simple gestures on your touchscreen.Even in absence of IR features, Peel uses the in-built Wi-fi capabilities of your TV to connect it with your phone and delivers the same features and experience. You can use the app to control the TV from anywhere within the Wi-fi network range. However, you’ll need to make sure in this case that both your TV and phone are on the same network. If you have any questions then you can refer this guide to understand how to install Peel and how to set up.

PS3 Controller Wont Charge?

So I think I already know the answer to this question, figuring that the controller is broke. But before I save up the money to get a new one. Maybe someone on here knows a fix or solution to the problem.

So basically I have 2 PS3 controllers with one usb charger. The one controller works perfectly, charges perfectly no problems. The second controller on the other hand doesn't charge. It works fine, syncs to the PS3 but it just doesn't charge. Originally I thought it was the charger however when I plug the other controller in, it charges. I also tried plugging the controller into my laptop and Windows says the controller has malfunctioned. I also tried to reset the controller and it still did nothing.

So is my controller broke just as I figure? Is it a battery issue? But if it was a battery issue would the controller still work except for charging? Thanks for any help!

Would a dual shock 3 controller that is always plugged into the ps3 make the system run any hotter?

cuz since my battery won't except a charge anymore, i just went to town and got a 10 foot USB cable and a 6 foot USB extension so i can have adiquete cord length whenever i play any game for my ps3,

you know kinda like controllers used to be, wired, before wireless and bluetooth technology was added to controllers, when you got a controller it plugged into the system, and that's how it worked,

i figured it would work fine, again since that's how it used to be, plus i didn't feel like shelling out another $60 buck to sony just to be down the same path in a few years or so,

but, and i know with the hot days and nights currently that ambiet air in the house will kick on the ps3's fans to slightly higher levels, but i wondered if the controller being plugged into the system while i play games for an hour or two before i go to bed might make the system run any hotter then normal?

i mean aside from the battery not taking a charge, and flashing the port light, then going back to solid off and on while i play, the controller is in very good condition, the buttons work perfectly still, so why buy a new controller, when wired is fine for me?

but with playing games and the fans hitting level 3 after 30 minutes to an hour i just wondered if the plugged-in controller might have had an impact on that?

however if i go back to XMB menu it drops to level 2 in like 5 to 10 minutes, plenty of ventalation, and i keep my baby clean, :)

any help or thought is greatly appreciated,

thanks in advance, :)

PS3 Controller problems...?

My 3-year-old PS3 has finally had a problem that interferes with my gameplay.

About a month ago, all of my controllers stopped working. I have three "Sixaxis"s and one
"Dualshock 3" controllers. Figuring they just needed to charge, I plugged one in to the PS3 with the same cord and in the same USB ports I've always used. Suddenly, the controller turned on and started functioning perfectly. I let it charge all night. The next morning, I unplugged that controller and pressed the PS button. The four red lights flashed just like normal, then shut off. After twelve hours of charging, it was as if the batteries hadn't been charged in months. It died within two seconds. Figuring that the cord was the issue, I switched to a brand new one and let my controller charge for another few hours. Same reaction. Flashing lights, then nothing. I tried a DIFFERENT controller, let it charge, and got the same thing. The strange thing is, when the controller is plugged in, it works just fine. I've played games just like I normally do with no problems. The PS3 has slowed down over the years, but I don't think that that has anything to do with the controller issue.

I've tried using brand new controllers and other cords that have worked for friends. I've used a dust-off can to get rid of all the dust I can in the USB ports and elsewhere. I can't think of what could be the problem.

Any ideas?

PS3 controller issue?

Dude ...i experienced your problem a little over 10 mins ago...and i found a super sollution that worked for all my controllers...

Here's what u do:
1.Turn of ur ps3 manually by pressing the power button
2.plug in ur spoilt controller to ur ps3 with the USB cord.
3.Turn on the ps3 manually by pressing the power button.(ur controller will start blinking again)
4.Now, press the PS button and it will sync and switch to player 1.
5.Now just plug out the USB cord form the controller(it will blink)
6.Lastly, press the PS button again and wait a few seconds.
7,Woalah!!..U should be player 1 now.

Hope this helps!

Best answer pls...lol

Oh and fix everything one-by -one,,

My playstation 3 controllers wont work without a the cord plugged in?

One of my controllers works wireless but the 2 other ones i have don't work, without being plugged into that cord that charges it. those 2 controllers only work for a few games like call of duty but don't work for any sports games. The 2 that don't work say dual shock 3 and six axis while the one that works just says six axis.

i think it might be because i got a different cord after i lost the one that came with the ps3.

Could i fix this or trade them in for 2 new ones?
