My rib cage is sore after pitching?

i pitched a shutout for the first time . and i am really sore from my rib cage, usually when i pitch a game my arm gets sore not my rib cage.So what in the *** is going on here?

The lower left side of my rib cage is really sore. I also have allergic reactions in my mouth. Any ideas? ?

Does anyone know what this could be? My ribs are really sensitive to touch and have been sore for multiple weeks. I also have oral allergy syndrome as a reaction to certain fruits like grapes. I have IBS and used to have acid reflux, and recently have suffered from asthma onset by exercise. Any ideas as to what this is?

What can you do to treat sore ribs from coughing?

For fast relief from sudden, unpredictable coughing, keep a small, firm pillow or cushion with you. When you feel the cough coming on, bring the cushion up to the chest area that hurts most, firmly press it over that area while leaning into the cushion. This splints the muscles and such and eases the pain. It’s not fool proof, but it does help. A heating pad over the sore area can help. Low to medium heat, never high- 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. Do not sleep with a heating pad on- ever. Topical creams/gels used for sore, aching muscles can also help. Use as directed on the label. You may or may not be able to use it with the heating pad- the label on the pad or the med should tell you this. If it doesn’t, do not use both together- could cause burns. Taking Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen, as directed on the label, can help. You should not take Acetaminophen if you have liver problems or drink alcohol; you should not take Ibuprofen if you have kidney problems. It’s always a good idea to consult a doctor before taking any medicine. Hope this helps and you feel better soon.

Pain in left rib cage?? Please help?

This has happened to me, in the exact same spot! I was kind of freaked out at first, cause you just don't know what it is. For me I actually pulled a muscle there somehow, so I felt better after a few weeks. I went to the route of seeing if maybe that's what it was and so I got an icy hot patch and really tried not to move that side. And it worked! You may have something different though, that's just what I had. I was able to lay in certain positions and it wouldn't hurt, like on my right side. Maybe try the icy hot patch, give it a day or so. Try not to move or stretch that area. And if it's still causing you pain head to a doctor justtttt to make sure. Hope you feel better!

Sore ribs after scuba dving?

Not knowing the specific dive profile I cant rule out DCI. However, the symptoms you describe sound like a minor lung overexpansion injury. Pulmonary Barotrauma can occur if the breath is held or there is an obstruction in as little as a four foot pressure differential. While a pneumothorax or arterial embolism would make themselves known with severe symptoms, a minor overexpansion could manifest itself as a sore chest. You should seek consultation from a doctor with knowledge of hyperbaric medicine just to be sure. First rule of diving "never hold your breath"
Hope this helps,

EDIT: Rachael, I believe scuba bob has it out for me so, I'll make this short. The possiblility that this is diving related is remote however, your instructor could not have been watching you every minute of your dive. The possibility exists that in your excitement you ascended holding you breath. All I am saying is that a family doctor could easily dismiss this as something else. In my years working deep mixed gas and in saturation I have seen many incidents and run many chambers for more hours than I care to count. Er on the side of caution and seek appropriate medical attention. Minor untreated injuries now could turn to major ones when you take on pressure again. Each individuals physiology is just a bit different and I have seen lung capacity issues cause problems, even for nonsmokers. Have it checked out.

Why does the right part of my rib cage hurt when I Break dance?

I try to practice Windmills, turtle walks/freezes, and after practicing for about two to three minutes my rib cage will feel really sore. Is it because my stab hand is putting pressure on my rib? Will the soreness or pain go away? Or is there something I need to do too make it go?
