My School Was On Strike And It

If an earthquake strike in my school then what I should do to save the children of classes first?

I work in a school and when the final bell rings, it is more like a chaos in the staircase and in the case of an earthquake, chaos means more chances of injury / death. In schools, we must have an earthquake related mock drill, wherein each class knows its route and the way each one has to move fast to clear the classes and move away to a safer place. Thus, for each class, we must designate a route and important is that no one is supposed to carry bags, water bottles or lunch boxes etc. so that your own movement is the fastest and the safest. This will never come in just one exercise, it should be repeated after every six months.Secondly, we must keep an emergency medical kit outside the school to handle emergency, if any. Please don’t bother what others will say, kindly do your duty, nature will reward you.

How do I strike a conversation with the girl I like at my school?

I am copying my response to another question regarding how to strike a conversation.A coffee shop, an ice cream store, a mall. Anywhere there is a line of people waiting to order or pay, is a place where you can start small talk and engage in a conversation with anyone. Be observant as you could use your observations to start a conversation. For example; a girl with a nice bracelet on her wrist gives you the opportunity to approach her and have this conversation:You: Hi, sorry to bother you. Couldn’t help to notice your beautiful bracelet. I have been looking for a similar bracelet to get for my sister. Would you let me know where you got yours?Girl: Sure thanks. You can get one at the HJK Jewelry store right here at the mall. You: Could you give me an idea of how I can get there?Girl: Go straight east towards the Tarnney Dept. Store and you will find it right before the entrance to your left. You: Great, thanks! I am James. May I know your name?Girl: I am Jessica. You: One last question, are those bracelets expensive?……and so on, because that’s not really your last question...

How has your or your children's school reacted to the Youth Strike 4 Climate Change event planned for Friday in the UK?

I asked the question as I was quite pleased by the response of my childrens’ (state comprehensive) school’s response, and wondered if it were a common reaction:Youth Strike 4 Climate ChangeDear Parents and Carers,Many of you will be aware of the ‘Youth Strike 4 Climate Change’ event that is taking place across the country this Friday. Some of our more senior students are planning to attend. I am unable to authorise their absence from school to do so and no staff will be released to accompany them, but I do feel a huge degree of sympathy for such a worthy cause. As such, I have spoken to these key students and to the Leadership Team and decided that we do need to take steps in school to show our solidarity for the cause. My plan is to hold a ‘County Sport Strike 4 Climate Change’ on Friday break time on the MUGA. We can then photograph our whole school (should they wish to be involved) sitting on the MUGA and refusing to take part in normal break time sporting activity. The image of this will, I hope, be a powerful one and show our strength of opinion about such a crucial issue.Again, no student will be forced to be involved and no student absence to take part in the national event can be authorised. With all good wishes,Steve SmithHead of School

What is your opinion on the world wide “school strikes” to protest lack of action against global warming?

The world may well be heating up or cooling off. In fact, I know it happens every day. I think the science is very sketchy on these points (why) but I applaud efforts to find a smoking gun and I hope they do.What I disagree with is the representation of a theory as a fact. There are no facts on human caused global warming. Any scientist of any worth knows a theory is not a fact, which is why I find the “overwhelming consensus” a little humorous and a lot fraudulent. It does not help that too often (once is too often) those with an agenda have been proven to fudge their numbers.Having said that I support the peaceful efforts of anyone to actively engage in promoting something they believe strongly and have concern it will impact them negatively. I am not so old I don’t remember my school days and I can say without doubt I too would walk out with my fellow students for something like this, even knowing what I do today. For students today, it is a rare opportunity while in school to experience and learn something. I just hope they limit it to a single day.I like this guys statement on Theory:And, I think these answers are worth a read.https://www.quora.com/What-is-th...

Will you be a part of the School Strike for Climate Change on March 15, 2019? Why or why not?

No, I will not participate in the School Strike for Climate movement and here’s why.First off, the movement is largely insignificant and will do nothing to change the current environmental policies implemented by world governments. The students are powerless, and no governments will take us seriously. We’re not even up to the age for voting, and not even out parents take our decisions seriously most of the time. Do you think those large corporates and organizations will listen to our voices? NO, absolutely not. They’re not even doing anything significant to help the starving kids in Africa or the ongoing conflicts around the world.Secondly, most students attending the strike basically wants to skip school. We were supposed to have a Maths test today (15/03/2019), but it was cancelled because half of the class were away so it will be postponed to next Monday. Those dropkicks who attended the strike has the weekend off to start some revising for the test. This frustrates me as I have been preparing for this test for the past two weeks and I was fully prepared to ace this test. Not the mention the students are driven by vehicles (cars, and buses) to get to the city, which produces carbon emissions. They’ll probably also buy soft drinks in plastic bottles and then carelessly toss them away into the drainage only to be eventually washed up into the sea creating more problems for the sea creatures.Look, I am fully conscious of climate change and its impact on our environment. I understand that we must take action and protect our planet. But by contributing to futile strikes will only be a waste of time. Ironically, the students themselves are contributing greatly to pollution. I rather spend that precious time studying harder in school so that when I grow up I can start my own environmental protection group and ACTUALLY do shit. That’s just MY opinion. Feel free to say otherwise.

Three Strikes Your Out Rule in College?!?

E.I wish yahoo answers had a way I can respond to each individual comment. To those who say why should the school waste time if one isn't passing. Why should we as students spend our money for teachers who clearly aren't doing a good enough job. Some students may have special needs and the class in question isn't important in my opinion to the career I had chosen. It iss gen eds. Math classes in particular. I've never been good at math neither has my boyfriend and we were/are at risk of getting booted or having to drop out because of the three strikes rule.( I dropped out but because of money issues not that class. Ironically I passed the class on my second try which I found out I passed after. I had dropped out) the school in question the art insitutues. Schaumburg campus has weird math classes where you have to get a 73% average on tests before homework grades factor in and you have to have a 72% or higher in the class to pass the class. In my case. I got put in math 1 and 2 the non

The teachers in our school are planning a walk out/strike. What will happen to the students?

Hopefully you will do some thinking about your role as a student in our society and how to fix the system. I would like students to play a role in this change AND have accountability for their choices of having a say, a claim in their futures. With that being said, you must LISTEN first. There are many things that occur in school that are in no shape or form resembling anything that happens when life and it’s real responsibilities happen. We need comprehensive change from societal support, changes in parenting and presence, changing the way we teach (technology savvy teachers in masses), changing curriculums so teachers can be more inspiring and passionate, even what you kids eat at schools is having an impact, competency in administration, and things like recess should be reinstated. Teachers need support to support you. Families need support to ensure we have a solid democratic future. Students need to understand work ethic and that you can’t do whatever you want and say whatever you want. Freedom comes at the price. Do whatever you want as long as it doesn’t infringe on the rights of others to do what they want or be able to meet their basic needs. This is a heavy burden and difficult task. So you as a student should be fighting for your future too. Go listen. Find out that your teachers are human. Get involved. And as always, learn to agree to disagree in a manner befitting an educated leader in your community. Learn about the issues then go out and fix it! Guess what? You’d be learning at the same time!

Should government school teachers go on strike in an effort to receive higher salaries??

They get paid good enough, but they suck at budgeting money. I am a substitute teacher on the side. Over the years I have observed that the teachers will spend all their money on these elaborate decorations and then complain about being broke.

They actually shut down 2 days of school in my district so teachers can have some protest. Every profession will not make you rich, but people know this ahead of taking on the position. Social workers and police officers don’t make a lot of money either, and their jobs are more stressful in my opinion, but they’re aren’t having strikes every 2 days.

Who has been very close to a lightning strike and what was your experience?

Ahh, well, I was actually struck. Is that close enough?I was a teen, around 14, just out riding my bike. I was a couple miles from home at the time — I liked to go to a park to "check out the babes" as they say. Of course, they were college girls and wouldn't give me the time of day anyway. But I still appreciated the view. There were storm clouds in the sky, and it soon started to rain. I headed to a tall, thick-leaved tree for a bit of shelter from the rain. Big mistake. I should have gone to the gazebo as quickly as possible. But there were already a bunch of people huddled together for shelter from the rain. At 14, I just didn't know storm safety, and though a few people yelled at me to get away from the tree, I was a little slow in heeding that advice.I was terrified; thunder boomed all around. The storm seemed to have snuck up on us. The hairs on my arm started standing on end — literally — and the next thing I knew, I woke up in the hospital. Lightning had struck the tree. According to doctors, the charge went through the trunk and into the ground. From the ground, it went into me. Apparently I was lucky not to be standing too close to the tree, otherwise the trunk could have sparked a bolt directly into me.From that experience, I got two things: knowledge about what to do during a thunderstorm and a pretty awesome fractal scar.None of those pictures are of me, but they give you a visual of what I had on my chest and arm for several months. My friends all thought they were cool. I enjoyed showing them off in school. "Yeah, I got struck by lightning. Wanna see the scars?" It was impressive, to say the least. The girls in my school thought it was awesome. I figured, hey, maybe this will help pick up some college girls. While they thought the boy showing off his scar was cute, they weren't willing to date this kid.The scars eventually faded. Not a mark left behind. And, fortunately, I've grown older and wiser — and got rid of the jackassery and thinking I was hot stuff that impeded my social life. Turns out women want personality in a man rather than a cool story and an awesome scar. What 14-year-old could know?

I Hate Everyone at my school?

I hate everyone at school including my fatass teachers. so in brief - i hate my sick school, but now i'm happy cause i left school just last month. planning to continue studies in a new school for a good start!
Remember this - be happy about the ones that are in your life right now that make you happy, and be even happy about the ones who ignore you, cause they just ignore you cause they can't get any better than you. Don't let haters downgrade you, let haters become your motivators! If they ignore you, you should ignore them in return and show them who you are. Thats just what I did too. So just take it easy :) Youre not alone, together we stand ! :D
