My Sgpt Level Is 85 Since 3 Months Suggest Me Medicine.

What does the SGPT level at 124 indicate? Is that related to digestion?

Normal Range - 0–35 U/LYour reading is 4 times higher than normal limit. It may be related to digestion but there are several other causes to it as well. There needs to be a conclusive test to confirm this. Get a complete Liver Function Test & consult a doctor. Below is an interpretation of results of SGPT test.A low level of ALT/SGPT in the blood is normalHigh levels, however, signify liver disease.Very high levels of about 10 times above the normal limit is seen mostly in acute hepatitis and levels often remain high for 1 – 2 months.Extremely high ALT levels of about 100 times above the normal limit occurs in conditions that reduce blood flow to the liver or exposure of the liver to toxic drugs or substances. In most liver diseases, ALT levels are usually higher than AST levels except in alcoholics, cirrhosis, and in patients with heart and muscle injury. If you feel that this level was an anomaly, please retake SGPT test & then consult a doctor. Meanwhile, please avoid alcohol consumption before getting advice from doctor.

My SGPT level is 110 and the SGOT level is 60. Is that a dangerous condition?

HiYou have to provide the normal lab values for these tests. But considering the normal value of 40 IU/L in most Indian labs, these are abnormal. Is this the full picture? No. I would advise a complete LFT including bilirubin ,alkaline phosphatase, albumin and prothrombin time to know the full story. These values, then these are definitely abnormal but not alarming by themselves. Considering these, possible causes include viral hepatitis, steatohepatitis or related to some medications. You need to workup the cause of this to decide its seriousness. These are elevated 2–3 times the normal levels. You need to consult a gastroenterologist/ hepatologist.Again, doctors treat the patient and not the report. Full interpretation of reports is always done in context to the clinical setting and cannot be made on isolated lab values.
