My Sholder Gets A Really Sharp Pain Everytime I Lay Down

Severe shoulder and back pain when drinking sugary alcohol?

Sometimes, but not every time, I get very intense shoulder and upper back aches when I start drinking sugary alcoholic beverages. It s usually within my first few drinks, and when it starts, it only lasts 10 minutes to a half hour. But it is INTENSE! All I can do is lay down and squirm around until it goes away. I can almost compare it to the worst toothache I ve ever had. IT S THAT BAD. Then, all of a sudden, it s over...I can drink as many more sugary drinks as I want and no pain at all. Anyone else experience this or know what could be the cause? I ve asked a lot of people and everyone says they ve never heard of such a thing.

Sharp chest pain when I take a deep breath or yawn?

Pinched back muscles often send the pains around your body on the nerves to be pains in your rib, chest or heart areas. The muscles are just tight but when you yawn or take a deep breath your spine is moving to cause the pains to happen in the muscles, to pinch them. To get rid of the pain you have to free up your back muscles to release the tight ones and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do while sitting)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Sore armpit and pain going through my right shoulder blade when move my arm?

This can be a lot of things. I sympathize on the posture thing. I've had this problem myself, and it can cause lots of problems as you get older with your shoulder, your neck, and your back, and can lead to arthritis, so you want to try to get a handle on improving your posture once you're feeling better. But for now, let's see if we can get this pain figured out.

The most likely issue given what you posted is either tendinitis or bursitis in that shoulder. Generally, these issues heal themselves if you don't cause the area further irritation until they heal. It can take weeks for them to heal. If you keep using the right arm, for example, to lift weights or play tennis, you will continue to have this pain. That does not mean, however, that you should stop using the right arm altogether. When the shoulder has a minor disorder such as tendinitis, if you stop using that arm altogether, it can lead to a worse problem, frozen shoulder. So unless the movement causes fall-to-your-knees, gasping-for-air pain, try to keep moving the shoulder very gently. Pendulum exercises (see YouTube) and gentle circles in each direction several times a day are a good idea, even if it causes a little pain. If it causes really bad sharp pain, stop and see a doctor.

Other good treatment measures include ice and ibuprofen/Advil/Aleve, maximum doses, three times a day, if you can tolerate anti-inflammatories. Always take anti-inflammatories with food, never on an empty stomach, or they'll upset your stomach.

Another possibility is that you have an issue that you're feeling in your lymph nodes, under your skin, in that one armpit. Infections can do this. This can cause dull achy pain in the lymph nodes, but usually doesn't cause a sharp pain over by the shoulder blade. That suggests the pain is muscular to me, but you need a doctor to know for sure. Usually (not always) lymph node issues would show up under both armpits.

Seeing a doctor is a good idea since the shoulder blade pain is sharp. The doctor can tell with some simple tests and an x-ray if there is something more serious than tendinitis or bursitis going on. The doctor can get you some physical therapy or exercises for the shoulder or for posture once your shoulder is less painful. The doctor can write a note to get you out of gym class if needed.

Feel better soon, Jess.

Why do I get extreme lower back pain when laying on my side?

Lower back pain when lying is a special type of back pain that could indicate a serious problem with your spine. If you are experiencing Lower Back Pain when lying down, the first and most important area to look at is your laying position – in particular if you are uncomfortable when lying in bed. Learning to sleep and lay down correctly is very important in stopping the onset of low back pain.Alright, so you’re going to have to trust me on this next one – your spine wants to be perfectly aligned all day.Standing, sitting, walking, sleeping – your spine really only has one optimal position, although it’s obviously built to accommodate flexibility and constant motion. When you mess up that natural, optimal alignment for too long (like when you sit at work for 8 hours and get terrible lower back pain) it gives you terrible back painHere’s your normal spine:Problems and Proper Sleep Positions To Prevent Back Pain When SleepingProblem #1: The lower back is overly archedDepending on how tight your hips are, if your legs are too straight, it will pull the lower back into an arched position. If your legs are too bent, tight hamstrings will pull the lower back into an overly-rounded position. The key is to find the sweet spot in-between.Problem #2: The back is overly roundedFor many of us with tight hamstrings, tucking the legs up too close to the chest will result in an over-rounding of the lower back.Proper Position When Sleeping On Your Side In Fetal PositionThere are a number of reasons for this: first – just from personal experience, sleeping on your back is generally the easiest way to aggravate the fewest number of things (well, except for snoringwell, except for snoringWhen you sleep on your side, you have to worry about your back alignment, neck alignment, your hips twisting, etc. When you sleep on your back there is less than can go wrong and fewer variables to experiment with to get comfortableI hope my answer can help you anyway. Pain in back/chest when breathing in deep and lying down.?

I am having a really peculiar chest pain but I don't think it is a heart problem or anything (I am only 19 years old). Whenever I stand up or sit up I am perfectly fine. However, whenever I lie down and breath in deeply, my mid back and what I think is into my chest cavity a little bit hurts like hell (a sharp pain). I wasn't able to sleep last night until 4:30 AM because I couldn't find a sleeping position that didn't hurt like hell whenever I breathed in. However, whenever I finally turned on my right side (which I didn't do normally because I usually sleep on my left side or on my back), the pain was absent no matter how deep the breath was.

This afternoon, I experimented to see if lying down still hurt when I breathed, and it did, so it is still persisting.

I have strong acid reflux at times but this is fairly well-contained by my anti-acid medicine. I also had costochondritis when I was younger but that was a far more mild pain.

Again, when I stand or sit up, there is also no pain. What the hell is going on!? I am starting to get worried and I don't have any easy access to "my doctor" for about 2 weeks.
