My Six Month Old Kitten Has Had A Fever And Distended Belly For 3 Weeks. Not Sure What It Could Be.

How is it possible that my 3 week old kitten died so fast?

I hope you have gotten some answers, I don't know what happened. Kittens are very vulnerable, my daughter, who takes rescues, had one have kittens, and the mother cat got sick after birth, and upper respiratory which is usually resolved , but the kittens 2 of 3 caught it. One recovered, the other little boy, we got to 6 weeks and the vet was letting him get free care cause they didn't want the baby to die, and he got so much wonderful care, and then he would seem better for a day or 2, then start coughing and gasping for air. It turned into a bad pneumonia, and nothing could save him. Heartbreaking. The other kitten and her brother lived and thrived and got a forever home together. But I am sad for the little baby. Most pitiful thing, a sick animal, and he had his whole short life like that. I tell you this cause my daughter has raised several litters, including 2 babies she found alone outside at a few weeks old, and eith the every couple hour feeding and love, they lived and were healthy. And as much experience as she had eith kittens, just couldn't keep him alive. Don't blame yourself, but if you have a choice, get an older cat, even if you love kittens 10 weeks or so is better. I try to get my cats already spayed so I don't have them have a bad experience with me right away. So I wait to find an adult cat that has been left behind , and needs me. I have my experiences with kittens too,and just like the older cat better for many reasons.

3 Week Old Runt Kitten - Front Legs Working, Back Legs... Not Exactly...?

Ok, this is the last time I will try to explain this.
The runt kitten named Sparky, he is 3 weeks and 1 or 2 days old.
He can use his front legs easily, but I have to help him get up his back legs. After that, he can walk for about 30 seconds, then he sits down and I have to help him get up again.
The mum cat treats him as if he were not a runt, but a normal cat. Many people would think the mum would reject the runt of the litter, but not this little mum kitty! Just then I brought them out into the lounge room so they could play/sleep or whatever but I didn't notice that little Sparky was left behind, suddenly I heard the LOUD, LOUD meowing! I looked next to me and Kitti (mum cat) had brought him out. So clearly, she is not rejecting him. I just want to know a little more on what to feed him when he is 4 weeks old, how to help him walk better and maybe a little more info on runt kittens.

My cat is pregnant we can feel the kittens moving in her womb how long until they are born?

My cat we took in happened to be pregnant.
She's getting fixed after the kittens and is done nursing them.
When I gently barely lay my hands on her stomach you can feel the kittens moving around and pushing, you can also see them sometimes moving.
A week or two ago she wasn't half as big as she is now so I'm unsure of how long she has
What stage of pregnancy is se in how many more weeks are left?

My cat died three days after being spayed. What went wrong?

A variety of complications could have occured... not the least of which could be internal bleeding resulting from the cat being in heat (increased blood flow) while undergoing the surgery. It does seem rather suspicious that the cat died so soon after the operation... if you suspect foul play I would take the cat to another veterinarian, tell them what happened, and see if they have any comment on how/why the cat died.

Could have just been bad luck or an Act of God... but if you're unsure I would get it checked out by another independent source, not just the clinic that could have possibly killed the cat in the first place. You might be due some kind of compensation if the doctor did anything improper which resulted in the death of your cat.

My 9 month old Cat is ill?

Hi, your cat sounds very sick, and if he does not pick up be sure to take him back to vets asap. Keep giving him fluids through dropper if you can, atleast a teaspoon an hr, he will be dehydrated, if you pinch his skin it should spring straight back if he is not dehydrated. Could he have ate something he shouldn't? Maybe what he has been playing with. Onions, mushrooms, raisins, chocolate are big no no's and poisonous. Try and give him a bit of baby food from a jar, if cats don't eat for so many hrs they can go into anorexia state. Good luck with the poor boy, id get an xray of stomach along with bloods. Hope he picks up very soon.

Help with my 7 week old kittens back legs?

I would agree that you should get a second opinion from another vet.

I know that distemper can cause such partial paralysis because of the high temperature/infection in that part of the BRAIN that controls the leg muscles. I have 2 cats that have permanent damage this way, but both are just fine in all other aspects of life. I call them my "Weebles" because they wobble but they don't fall down. They can climb cat trees just fine, get up on my bed just fine, they can even catch mice with no problems. The only thing they cannot do is any high leaps onto furniture like a "normal" cat. Otherwise, they are perfectly fine life companions.Distemper is such a DEADLY disease in kittens that I consider these two cats my miracle survivors. I have lost plenty of other cats when distemper just "flew" through my cat "colony." I lost 7 kittens to distemper. So I consider these 2 lucky survivors.

I have no idea about the colic. I've never heard of colic in a cat before, either. So, I think a second opinion is in order.

5 MONTH OLD PREGNANT CAT??? help?

I have a female cat named lilly who is 5 months old, and a male neutered cat named nugget who is 3 years old. 4 weeks ago, lilly stuck her but up in the air to my dog...... does that mean she was in heat? Around that same time i spotted her and a tom cat on the roof around midnight. Could she be pregnant? (4 weeks later) now she does not stick her but up to my dog anymore. She gets very vicious when i touch her stomach. Her stomach feels kind of hard, and it has gotten bigger. But i cant feel any lumps. So do you think she is pregnant? Or does she have worms? Or is she just getting fat? One thing i also heard about is a " False Pregnancy" Do you think she could be having that? Please tell me if she is pregnant or not!!!!!!

NOTE: For all you people out there who like to Criticize rather than just answer the question, i have never owned a female cat before and did not know that there was a chance that they could get pregnant that young. I had planned on getting her fixed at around 7 months.

My Cat who is a year old just had a still born kitty that was not completely formed.?

The placenta was still attached and the kittens head was mangled or deformed. My cat seems to be running a fever and her breasts are inflamed, and red. I flushed the dead baby down the toilet thinking it was a rat. I then noticed my cat was bleeding and that her breasts were swelling. She then began meowing and searching for the dead kitten. How do I know how pregnant she is and how do I know there aren't more babies coming? What can I do to be sure may cat is okay. I cannot afford to take her to the vet to get assistance birthing or treatment if necessary what is the best thing to do?
