My Struggle Of Being In Shape But Still Fat

How do fat and out-of-shape people make it through basic training?

When I joined in 1974, I was 5′8″ and 245 lbs. After we met our Drill SGT., he divided us in two groups. After he was done, he explained, “Over here I have my athletes - fine specimens of young men- MY ADONIS’ … AND over here I have my PILSBURY DOUGHBOYS ! Gentlemen, and this will be the last time I will call you f**k’n maggots Gentlemen!!!IN 12 WEEKS TIME, YOU WILL BE MY ‘OTHER’ ADONIS’ !!! …NOW STRIP DOWN TO YOUR SKIVVIES AND PUT YOUR PONCHO ON!” We did and then he told us to get DRESSED OVER TOP OF THE PONCHO!!!I think he was the one that invented the ‘SAUNA SUIT’. We did that every day and the only thing we could eat was SALADS -NO DRESSINGS- just rabbit and squirrel food and water.The fat melted off and at the Graduation… I weighed 155 lbs. and then I went to get a thick steak and baked potato!!!I kept it off all these years. The most I weighed since then was 180 lbs. but took it off soon after.

Me and my dad went to a restaurant today and when we were leaving he said i should excercise because iam out of shape. hes always saying im overweight mean while he is very overweight. I feel like the fat *** i my family...my mom is a size 0 and my sister eats whatever she wants and doesn't exercise yet shes stays skinny. My mom looks at me like im a beluga whale and im afraid to eat in public... I used to have an eating disorder and be 5ft4 and 90lbs now im 130lb and ive gained 15 lbs this summer...

how can i lose weight...i feel so fat and depressed i try to excercise but it doesnt work...i eat veggies and fruit! ughh

Bq; also i have my school uniform pants from last year which is a size 0...im scared and ashamed to tell my mom i need to get new ones:( how should i get them??

All the fat goes to my legs but not my arms?

Try walking at least a mile everyday. Get up and walk around the house as well. Get a job that requires you to be mobile. I am certain that it is a difficult problem for you to deal with. I am sure you know how to loose the weight, it is simply a matter of it being difficult for you to do so. My struggle is with nicotine, I cannot quit smoking, non smokers are often times very non understanding of this. Walking will help though. You don't have to speed walk, just go for a walk in the out doors somewhere and enjoy the fresh air every day.

Don't you hate it when people misuse the term curvy?

I do get annoyed because it's used to call women fat. You can be curveless, average, or curvy and skinny, average, or fat and any combination of these. But because it's more common for bigger women to have curves and skinny women to not have curves people often equate the two. I really don't think any person could objectively call someone like kim kardashiam fat but becuase shes curvy they may try to indirectly call her fat. Fat IS a part of being curvy but fat and curvy are not the same. To be curvy, it is mainly about having big boobs, a big butt, and big hips. You can also have thick thighs (which look sexy with the right amount of fat and muscle). But being curvy is also a proportional thing. A 5'0" tall woman with a c cup and 34" a$$ is going to look a lot curvier than a 5"10 woman with a d cup and 36" ***. A small waist also makes hips look bigger. Honestly, actually defining and explaining what curvy means is complicated but abstractly we know what it means and how to spot it.
