My Td Bank Gift Card Keeps Getting Declined On Amazon

Why does Amazon keep declining my payment?

Like goddamn I'm just trying to order $20 worth of stuff with my parents' credit card. I entered in the credit card information and the billing address exactly. It's not a sketchy card or anything, it's a perfectly regular card with plenty of money on it. Amazon says my order went through and then a day later I get an email saying ng payment was declined with no reason given except "sometimes banks may withhold orders if the name or address doesn't match exactly" so I try it again and get the same message a day later. What the **** do o have to do to make a goddamn $20 purchase? Call the damn bank? Is it because the credit card name has a middle initial and the billing address I left it out? Avert a goddamn theft crisis for not including a middle initial? Goddamn, I swear. Why do banks suck so much. I mean can they at least give me a REASON why it didn't go through so that I can rectify it? Someone please explain to me why it keeps getting declined? Is it because Amazon automatically turned my zip code into extended version but the credit card is associated with the shorter version? Some basic tiny difference like that? Like goddamn, please explain to me what exactly the **** is wrong with my payment.

How long does Amazon take to refund money to your bank card if you cancelled your order?

With reference to Amazon.in there are 3 scenarios when it comes to cancellation of the order and refund. Before the order is shipped or entered the advance shipping stage:If you have cancelled your order immediately after you were charged, then the refund would be processed in 24–48 working hours and would be credited to your account in 2–4 or 3–5 business days depending on how long your Bank takes to credit the amount. But you’ll have to wait for 4 business days for the refund to be credited and then check your statement to confirm about the credit. If no credit call your Bank’s customer serivce with the reference number shared with you via email by Amazon. If no reference number is given then contact Amazon.2. If the card is charged but Amazon did not receive the payment and the order is cancelled:The amount will be auto-credited to your account within 7–25 business days. Amazon would not be able to help in such scenarios because they do not have a confirmation from the bank on the transaction made.3. If the order was cancelled after the order was shipped:The order is first expected to return to fulfillment center before the refund is processed. No exceptions whatsoever. It usually takes 5–10 business days for the return to reach the fulfillment center. Once it is scanned as returned then the refund is processed. The usual refund timeline is followed as mentioned in the first scenario. If refund is processed even after the return shows as delivered to fulfillment center, then contact Amazon. Thanks for the A2A!

Why doesn't Amazon accept a Visa debit card?

Amazon does accept Visa debit cards for payment. Amazon.com Help: Types of Credit & Debit Cards That Can Be UsedIf your card has been declined outright or you have an order being held due to card problems, this page - Amazon.com Help: Resolve a Declined Payment - suggests that you confirm that all of your card information was entered correctly. If so, contact the issuing bank to ask if there is a problem with your account and if you’re subject to any spending limits. If you’re trying to use a prepaid Visa debit card like the type people can buy in stores and give as gifts, those can sometimes be problematic. Some cards can be registered to the user and then typically will work online, but the unregistered type of card may lack the information required to add it as a payment method. You may want to call or email Amazon customer service if you’re dealing a rejected prepaid card. One other thing; Amazon doesn’t allow split payments between debit or credit cards, so your purchase would have to be within the card limit. A friend recently told me that if she is given a Visa/Mastercard prepaid card she uses it to buy an Amazon gift certificate of the same amount. Gift certificates can be split with a second form of payment.

Why does Amazon keep asking to revise payments? I placed an order from UAE to be delivered in India and it keeps declining the payment.

The order probably isn’t being “declined”, but rather it isn’t passing the “verification” stage. Every order placed on Amazon goes through a “pending verification” stage where it is screened by Amazon’s automatic and highly sophisticated algorithms for fraud/risk (sometimes it may also be reviewed by a human risk investigator). PS. This is done by Amazon’s own Risk teams, not by Sellers, nor even by Amazon Customer Service. If there are clear signs that the order may be fraudulent (eg. using a stolen credit card) then the order will be cancelled and the account is flagged. In other cases where there are only some signs that the order may be fraudulent (eg. possible unauthorized use of someone’s credit card) but they aren’t 100% sure, then they will try to contact the credit card owner to get authorization. In your case it sounds like there are some risky signs (eg. order placed in UAE, using a card from (UAE?), with a billing address in (UAE?), but being shipped to India. If this doesn’t match your previous ordering pattern, and if the item you’ve ordered is an expensive/risky item that doesn’t match your previous order history, and if they can’t find any connection between you and the person (or country) you’re shipping to, then all of this makes the order look suspicious. What you should do:First, make sure you use a credit card they can trace back to you (eg. one with your name, and the same name that is on your Amazon account). Next, make sure that the billing information you’ve added on your account for that card is the correct billing information that matches the bank (ie. the card owner’s name, billing address and phone number according to the bank’s records for that card). If you place the order again, contact Customer Service and ask them to send a note to the account specialists (ie. the Risk team) that they should contact the credit card owner for authorization because the order is legit. The Risk team will contact the bank to confirm the correct name/address/phone number according to the bank’s records, and then phone THAT number only. Hopefully they’ll get through to you.

Is it possible to use an international credit card to pay for an Amazon India order?

Yes, at least with US Issued Cards, but it probably works with others as well. You should be able to buy everything except for Amazon India Gift Cards. In general the items can only be shipped to an Indian address. Very useful if you are planning a trip and want to buy books, etc and have them shipped directly to an address from where you can pick them up (eg., home address in India, etc).
