My Teacher Want Me To Fail The Exam

Did my teacher fail me out of spite?

It doesn't sound like she failed you out of spite. It sounds like she failed you because your work was below average. I'm sorry about your brother (did you even tell her at the time what you were going through?), but while that makes your missing class understandable, she can't ignore it completely. Even if she didn't grade you on attendance, it generally does have a major effect on grades. You weren't there to participate, and you probably didn't pick up some information which would have helped you on your exams. Your teacher, if she is anything like me, can immediately recognize from the way an exam is written whether the student attended class or not. A student who misses a lot of class fails to include a lot of material that others put into their tests.

As to your exams, "subjective" is not the same thing as random. Yes, there is an element of interpretation to it, but your essay has to be based on what was covered in the class and the assigned material. My best guess is that you didn't include as much of this as did others in the class. If she knows that this is your major, I can assure you that this wasn't an easy decision for her. She understands the implications of giving you a C-, and that makes it hard to do.

It does sound like it was a difficult semester for you, and I'm sorry for you. However, that doesn't mean that the teacher is at fault. We all have bad classes, and at times we have to accept that that was the best we could do. At this point it doesn't' sound like you have any grounds for an appeal (and there is nothing more annoying than someone who appeals just because they are hoping for a higher grade), but you certainly can ask to look at your paper and ask for an explanation of why the grade was a C-, as opposed to a C. She may just tell you that others did better, and since you can't see their papers, it would not help you much. But you may have to accept that this was a bad semester and retake it in the summer.

What can I do if my teacher is trying to fail me?

I had a teacher actually do this. The previous year I had won the state mathematics championship and we moved to the city from the country. First day in class. I always arrive just in time, i sat in the front. the teacher asked me to go to the office and bring a box of coloured chalk.I did. He opened the box and started screaming at me. You know i dont like purple chalk. You did this deliberately. I told him I have been at the school less than 10 minutes and dont know anything or anyone. However, he continued to treat me badly all year. I really did not care since i knew the work and it was easy.At the end of the year he failed me. I finished the final exam 2 hour exam in less than 20 minutes.MY mother went to the principal and told him I had won the championship the year before and asked how I could have failed? He was dumbfounded.then my mother took this to the education board and they reassessed my tests and I was passed with high marks. The teacher was sacked, Terminated. If you are having a hard time and truly believe you should be passing and the teacher is trying to fail you, (Not just because you are borderline) then you need to go discuss it with the vice principal or Principal. Try to have details of the evidence and reasons why you believe this is true and take it with you when you see the principal or vice principal. do not go to the duty-teacher class or form-room teacher or any other subordinate. If they move you to another class then all will be good. IF NOTthen the next thing to do is to change schools. If it means a lot to you to pass that subject then and it is a critical year then just move on and leave the teacher to suffer the long term consequencesYou have a right to fair teaching and assessment and ask for it. Do not say anything that is not true or accuse for things you cannot prove.

I failed my orchestra exam. How do I get my teachers to raise my grade? 10 POINTS!?

It's the beginning of the new quarter, and I'm not that worried except for my stupid teacher. I legitimately want to quit orchestra. I hate it so much. The teacher (I dare not call her a conductor, she doesn't deserve that high of a title) gave me half credit on my exam. WTF!

I got every single question on my exam right, I am first chair cellist, and I know my stuff. Alright, so the kid who sits behind me got sick and puked all over me during the test, so what did I do? SCREAM! I"m a fifteen year old girl! What was I supposed to do? Sit there quietly with puke all over my back? After I got cleaned up I ran back in the room, and we were watching a video of our concert. My friends, of course are asking me what happened, so I am going to tell them, obviously. I am going to be mad because my clothes are PUKE covered.

HALF CREDIT. I got half credit on my exam for talking. How to I get her to raise my grade? This is insane.

I have failed every math exam at school. My teachers have always pointed out I wouldn't amount to much in maths. Yet, I am very interested in maths. I'm studying languages now. Is it still possible for me to become excellent at maths?

Please tell those teachers that I pointed out that they don't amount to much as educators. It's terrible that they'd tell you that that you "wouldn't amount to much in maths." Given the role of confidence in academic performance, it's the sort of statement that can easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy. I'm sure a lot of people would fail their exams if their teachers made such remarks to them.Since you're interested in mathematics, I'd definitely encourage you to pursue it. I'm not going to promise you a Fields Medal. Indeed, one thing to get used to with learning math is that there will always be people who seem to be better at it than you. I'm finishing up a PhD in math at a reputable university, but it's rare that I talk to another mathematician without coming away thinking that the other person knows more than me, learns faster than me, and is generally just  much smarter than me.The point here is twofold. First, when you think that somebody else is better than you are at something, that is your perception, rather than objective reality. Second, we all come to the table with different backgrounds and aptitudes, and that's okay. You can learn whatever you want. Somebody else knowing more won't take away from that. Learning is not a zero-sum game.Start with what you know, and gradually work your way up to more difficult things. Don't just read about math. Solve problems. A lot of people say good things about Khan Academy. Some people prefer to work from a book, and that's fine, too.  In my experience, the most important thing is to work through problems on your own. If you get stuck, it's fine to talk with other people and consult references, but don't allow yourself to be convinced that you can do a problem until you can work through it from start to end without consulting people, solutions, or other references. But also realize that it can be okay to skip over some of the hardest problems and move onto a new topic. You can come back to those later. Finally, you might appreciate this video of a math major talking about fear and learning math.(Quora wanted me to answer this question because it was under the Failure topic. I must be an expert on the subject.)

Failed my Semester Exam?

Calm down, or try to. Sometimes you fail, that's life. In fact, it's an important lesson in life. In my last year in high school I had a teacher for maths who once made a test nearly everyone failed on. As I followed the most advanced class my school offered, there where students that had never failed a test before (I wasn't one of them :) ). They were immensely disappointed in their selves, but our teacher said that it was better to fail know for the first time, then to do it in college. There would come a day in life where they fail something: an exam in college, the test for their driving license, a solicitation. And if that's the first time you fail something, it will be even harder to get over it. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, that's life.

What can you do know?
Get up and continue. What went wrong? You clearly had the impression that you knew it thoroughly. Maybe you studied it in the wrong way: maybe you learned everything by hard and did your teacher want more insight in the matter. Another possibility is that you were overstressed for the exam and made faults because of that. If that's the case, you will need to find a method to reduce your stress.
A third possibility, but not very probable, is that there has been a mistake while correcting your exam. To find out what exactly went wrong, the best way is to go and take a look at your exam...

Thoughts to cheer you up:
- In Belgium your scores would be considered very good. Even from this last exam, it would be considered good (or bearable, if you have demanding parents.)
- Academic success isn't everything. Bill Gates for example didn't finish his studies.

I got into a fight with my teacher. What do I do?

Today was my Earth Science final exam and I failed it. The teacher can not teach to save her life. She gives us notes, then a work sheet and tells us we are having a quiz the next time we see her and it's rare if I do good because I need a day or two to know all of the notes, the notes and 5 pages every day.We also did this packet with all the chapters in it and she lost mine and I couldn't study anything! and So today when she told me I failed I just stood there and she asked me what was wrong and I said "It's your fault I failed" she said "No it's not you should of studied" I said "I would but you lost my packet!" she then told me to leave, but I said "Now I have to take it again in Summer School. And if I still don't pass I will have to take this freaking class again! she said "Just leave!" I said "You can't teach worth poop! And if I do fail the test in Summer school, you will not be my teacher. I'm done goodbye!" I got in trouble but my parent's don't care because it was her fault. I have a meeting with her, me and my parents tomorrow. and what do I say to her?

Has a teacher ever purposely tried to fail you so you wouldn't graduate?

Has a teacher ever purposely tried to fail you so you wouldn't graduate? No but it did happen to a former girlfriend. In her last year of high school (in Canada) she was taking French which happened to be a required course for admission to her university program. And her French marks that year were horrible. But she had this really “weird” French teacher who used to record everyone’s marks in a hard covered notebook that she never let out of her sight. My girlfriend complained to the Principal about her marks and the teacher refused to explain them to the Principal - apparently it was pretty much a wrestling match getting the teacher to give up her notebook. But, when she did, the Principal discovered that the marks that had been entered into the official school records differed significantly from what the teacher had recorded in her book (seem she had been recording the correct marks in her book but entering different marks into the school’s system - if those marks had been unchallenged, my girlfriend would have lost her university position). Apparently the teacher never did explain what made her behave the way she did.

How do I tell my tutor that I failed the exam for the course she was teaching me?

A really good teacher who works really hard to help you deserves the truth of why it ultimately didn’t pan out. Just tell her you had serious medical problems during the exam period - if you don’t want to tell her exactly what they were, just tell her you’d rather not go into detail. She’ll understand. And if not, that’s her problem. You tried as hard as you could and you failed for reasons outside of your control; if she blames you for something you couldn’t control, there isn’t anything else you can do except thank her for her work and distance yourself.
