My Teeth Are Soo Yellow

Why are my teeth so yellow?

Many of our patients work hard to keep a bright, white smile. While some elect to have various whitening procedures or products, many simply keep a beautiful smile with basic dental hygiene: brushing, flossing, and regular dental cleanings. But if you keep good care of your teeth, why would they still be yellow? Why are my teeth yellow even though I brush them?To answer this question, it’s important to learn what causes yellow discoloration in the first place.External Tooth StainsThese are the most common causes for tooth discoloration:Coffee stainsTea stainsWine stainsSmoking / Tobacco useCoffee, tea, and wine are high in chromagens, which stick to teeth and produce noticeable stains. Nicotine becomes yellow when mixed with oxygen, and when inhaled or chewed can settle into small pores in the enamel of your teeth. Over time, smokers’ teeth can become extremely yellow or brown.Often for patients, reducing or eliminating use of any of these substances is enough to brighten their teeth.Additionally, as enamel erodes, more of the dentin beneath it becomes visible. Dentin has natural yellow coloration, so less layers of enamel can yellow your smile.Internal Tooth StainsCertain medications are able to change the appearance of your enamel, or the dentin beneath it. For example, use of tetracycline antibiotics while teeth are still forming can cause discoloration. Injury or trauma to a tooth causing internal bleeding within the tooth can leave a permanent stain as well. When brushing isn’t enoughBefore wondering why brushing isn’t whitening your teeth, make sure that you have proper brushing technique! Brushing too harshly has the potential to erode away your enamel, revealing more of the colored dentin beneath.Next, consider whether or not your teeth are naturally a more yellow color than you would prefer. Take a look at color samples during your next dentist visit to get an idea of the range of natural tooth colors:Taken from www.dentistorlandoflorida.comFrom the DentistMuch like eye and skin color, our teeth come in many different shades. If you get regular dental cleanings, brush twice a day, floss, and avoid tobacco and coffee, it is very likely your natural shade is simply less than perfectly white — just like most of humanity! If this sounds like you, a whitening procedure may be the answer. Make sure to talk it over with your dentist before making a decision on whitening products.

Why are my teeth so yellow?!?

I don't understand why my teeth are so yellow.. I don't do anything that would make them yellow. Here are some facts about me and why I don't know why my teeth are white:
-I brush my teeth 2 times a day for a good amount of time
-I use crest 3D whitening tooth paste
-All I drink is water ( no juices that would stain my teeth)
-I don't eat anything that would stain my teeth
-I don't drink coffee or tea
-I've used whitening strips before but not daily
-I will never get my teeth professionally whitened (too expensive)

So I just don't know why there yellow.. I don't do anything that would make them like this. The only thing I can think of is how I wear my retainer at night cause I use to have braces... Idk. I am fair skinned but that shouldn't stop me from not having white teeth, i know plenty of pale people with white teeth. I just don't know what's causing this..

Why are my teeth so yellow? I am only 17...?

Having yellow teeth is actually quite common for a lot of people. I used to think I was the only one with such yellow teeth. It's usually related to the use of certain medications or having a thin enamel.

There's a natural home remedy that you can try that's suppose to be used for cleansing your mouth but you can also use it for making your teeth more white. You probably already have all the ingredients at home so it shouldn't cost you any money. You'll notice a difference probably right away and just continue to use it once a week and that'll keep them looking white.

Just follow the instructional video and make sure you follow the procedure http://homeremediesforcuring.com/yellow-teeth

Good luck, I hope that helps :)

Why are my teeth so yellow?

I'm 16,I don't smoke, I hardly ever drink coffee or tea or soda but my teeth are SO yellow ! People even comment on them it's really annoying as I've had yellow teeth ever since I can remember(I don't remember how they were during my childhood though, but I noticed them at least 3 years ago).I do brush my teeth twice a day(although I admit sometimes I forget at night,I thought it could help to brush them 3 times a day,I did that for about 2 months,no difference).WHAT could be causing my teeth to be yellow? I've seen some products at the store claiming to whiten teeth by getting rid of stains, but I don't know whether I should buy them because I don't even know if the yellowness IS from stains since I don't smoke...What should I do ? Please don't tell me to get them bleached or those treatments at the dentist's because it's quite expensive !

How to whiten teeth? my teeth are so yellow!?

How can I whiten my teeth with your using baking soda (harmful to teeth), coconut oil, or whitening strips. I've tried all of these but baking soda isn't good for your teeth, the strips are expensive, and coconut oil feels weird in my mouth... I still use the coconut oil but are there any other ways?

What can a 14 year old do about yellow teeth?

I'm 14 and in the UK. I have a brace and my orthodontist is always complimenting me on how clean my teeth are. However I'm not satisfied because my teeth are quite yellow, so I was wondering after I've had my brace off, is there anything I can get, either from the super market, or from the dentists/orthodontist that will whiten my teeth?

thanks

13 year old with yellow teeth?!?

I can't say they're pretty, but I don't go poking fun at people for it, you never know if they have some problem that caused their misfortune.

Aside from trying a different toothpaste and toothbrush(soft bristle, the hard bristles damage your teeth, not clean), dropping gum, sweets and soda from your diet if you have any of that stuff in it...I'm not sure.
I have a top front tooth that grew in with what looks like an ugly cavity, which it's not. So I know you're pain. I hate smiling, people point it out, and it's hurtful and obnoxious. Then they complain I don't smile enough and I tell them why. My dentist told me some peoples teeth just grow in that way and they can cap it, but it'd never look normal. It sucks. People should NOT be doing that, and you should tell them it's rude, and that they have no right to point it out, or tell you to do something about it. If they do it anyways just to be hurtful, tell them their opinion no longer matters since they just proved they're doing it to be jerks. Then just shrug them off, their opinion doesn't matter. The world is a judgemental place, you will find people are always judging something, no matter what you do.

Are yellow teeth really bad?

I am going to be honest in this regard with you. Some people naturally have yellow teeth. The credit goes to their parents. You cannot consider yellow teeth bad for them because of genetic reasons. But some people have yellow teeth because of the following reasons:lack of regular and proper dental/oral healthcare.Consumption of oily, greasy, creamy fast foods, alcohol, beer, tobacco products, alcoholic products, caffeinated and carbonated products and intoxicants.Smoking and long term use of medicines. In such cases, it becomes important for the people having yellow teeth to be careful about their level of oral/dental healthcare. It is because yellow teeth pave way for cardiovascular diseases, kidney issues, betimes, cancer, arthritis rheumatoid and many other health hazards to affect the functionality of their body adversely. They also have to face issues related to brain such as memory loss etc.Yellow teeth can also cause issues related to eyesight. The chances of tartar, plaque, cavities and gum issues, periodontal issues and tooth decay multiply. All in all, it is important that you get rid of yellowness on your teeth. There is a way to get rid of it. It is not so expensive.Just visit your dentist/oral healthcare expert regularly and use the best sonic care toothbrush he/she advises you. It is because it is electric and has the bristle motion speed to produce more than 31,000 teeth strokes in 2 minutes.Brush teeth daily. Once in the morning for minutes and before the breakfast. Once in the evening for 2 minutes after the dinner.Quit smoking and boozing immediately and forever.Stop consuming beer, all alcoholic products, tobbaco products, intoxicants, carbonated, caffeinated beverages and fast foods. You can also use teeth whitening strips once in every 3–4 months.Rinse your mouth immediately after you eat or drink anything,I hope i have answered your question perfectly.

I brush my teeth and floss, so why are my teeth so yellow?

Have your teeth always been this color or are they getting more yellow? If yellowing is occurring it could be due to the foods you eat and beverages you drink. Aside from foods that have been listed in other answers to this question, turmeric also causes yellowing of the teeth. Yellowing of teeth is usually due to extrinsic stains and a professional dental cleaning would take care of this. I would not recommend using abrasive ingredients on your teeth such as baking soda or charcoals. After the dental cleaning, if you feel your teeth are still too yellow, then consider getting a bleaching kit from your dentist. The trays that hold the bleach are custom made for your teeth so that the bleach will reach all front areas of your teeth. The advantage of bleaching kits is that when you want to do a touch up (usually recommended yearly for one or two applications) all you have to purchase from your dentist is the bleaching gel, and you won’t have to go through the somewhat expensive laser bleaching treatment each year.
