My Teeth Hurt From Eating A Lemon While Ago I Can

Im eating lemons and my teeth hurt now. what do I do?

Lemons contain larges amount of acid, which can make your teeth very sensitive. The outer layer of your teeth is called enamel, and the acid on the lemon help break down (erode) the enamel, causing the pain. DO NOT rinse right after you eat the lemon, it causes the acid to spread around your mouth and also causes more sensitivity.

I would cut back on the lemons, they are very hard on your teeth.

My teeth hurt when i eat hard candy?

You could just have sensitive teeth. Does it hurt your teeth when you have ice cream or cold water in your mouth? Try brushing your teeth with sensidine (its pronounced sense-a-dyne) tooth paste. Anywhere where you can purchase regular tooth paste sells it. Also, don't chew hard candies. It's generally bad for your teeth anyway.

And it hurt though they were just drilling and filling a small cavity because of the vibration from the drill so close to the nerve in your tooth. Good luck

Is eating a lemon bad for a baby's teeth?

i agree, i'm a nurse and have always loved lemons. my kids have loved lemons and they basically have not had cavities. i would say, the benefit of vitamin c outweighs the risk of decay from the natural acids.

What is the best food to eat after getting your wisdom teeth out?

Eating after wisdom teeth should be dictated by both comfort and nutrition, after having wisdom teeth (or any teeth) extracted.Swelling in the face is common after wisdom teeth are removed, and will cause trismus (difficulty in opening the mouth).  This usually peaks about 3 days after surgery, and can be quite pronounced - some patients can barely fit a finger between their teeth.  Of course, this also makes eating quite difficult and painful.  Soft foods are usually the most comfortable for patients, as they do not require as much mouth opening, and minimize chewing.  Foods with a mushy consistency (eg scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes) are helpful.  Fish dishes, smoothies, and soups are excellent choices because they do not require significant chewing.  Meal replacement drinks (Boost, Ensure) can also be purchased and are good high calorie options. As healing progresses and the swelling goes down, you will find it easier to chew.  The diet can progress to harder and more substantial foods as comfort allows.Foods should not be too hot after surgery.  Many times the local anesthesia from the wisdom tooth surgery has not yet worn off, and burns from hot food in the mouth can occur before feeling any pain.  In addition there is a risk that overly hot foods may cause the blood clots to dissolve, and increase bleeding. It is also important to stay hydrated, and to maintain a diet rich in nutrients.  This is required to give the body enough building blocks and energy to recover from the wisdom tooth surgery.

Why does my teeth hurt when i eat this bar?

Well you know your gums actually kind of erode away...plaque gets underneath the gums and eventually the gums erode. You may not even notice. But when they do more of the root of the tooth is exposed and that is where you feel the sensitivity.

Or it might also be due to drinking acidy drinks. They actually erode the ENAMEL of your tooth.

Another possibility is the filling is eroding too, so sugar gets in between the filling and the tooth. Often a cavity can even form underneath the filling.

True, toothpaste like Sensodyne can help. I bet dentists can even coat teeth wtih something (but RARELY DO as there would be no cash for them!!!) to help them out too.

I suggest you use the toothpaste for sensitive teeth. It takes about 2 weeks to fully realize the difference, and use enamel building toothpaste too. They are probably just gimmicks but who knows, hopefully they really work.

Oh and just so you ALL know...teeth whitening is REALLY bad for your teeth. That makes your teeth REALLY sensitive too.

In fact my hygenist said I should use Sensodyne for a few weeks before attempting any do it yourself job.

Is is possible for your teeth to hurt when you get hungry?

If your teeth hurt already the pain is harder to tolerate when you are hungry. (Go to dentalfearcentre.org)

I’ll have my wisdom teeth pulled out and won’t be able to eat normal for a week or so, so what can I eat? Any suggestions?

The first few hours while controlling any bleeding, I would have non-carbonated fluids. Carbonation can loosen forming clots. Have some nutritious soup or something similar. But, you should start a good balanced diet after the first day. This is necessary in order to heal.In contrast to the common advice off a soft diet for a week, you need to use your jaw muscles. If you don’t move your jaws for three days and subsist on a soft diet, you won’t be able to open your mouth after three days. The problem is muscle truisms. It is stiffing of the muscles with difficulty swallowing and an additional amount of pain and discomfort.By returning to a balanced diet, you will need to chew. The act of chewing activates the muscles, reduces swelling and improves the blood circulation bringing the necessary nutrients to the area to begin healing. In preparation to begin eating, there are some things you should do. Keep steady pressure on the gauze pack for thirty minutes. Do not change the pack during that time. By over treating the bleeding problem, you will cause more bleeding. Stretch the jaw muscles by opening wide and closing as soon as the qauze pack is removed. Do this for a few times a day for two or three days. This should not interrupt the sutures. Sutures are passive just holding the tissue in place and not covering the sockets. Then, start rinsing with salt water the next day, six to eight times a day for 4–5 days. This will remove food and clotting debris. Continue rinsing after meals until food debris no longer caught in the sockets.
