My Toe Nail Is Falling Off-what Should I Do

My Toenail is falling off...What to do??

I got TWO black toenails from my basketball shoes about a month ago and now i am noticing that both toenails are very loose. How long until the nail will fall off? O and when they do fall of is it bad to put on a fake toenail (big toe)???

What should I do if my toenail is falling off?

As said, you should see a doctor and try to determine the cause. I've lost 4 nails, three fingernails + 1 big toenail, all to bruising damage to the nail bed. It's generally a slow process, the nail will first turn completely purple-blue then very gradually detach and fall off, and sometime in the process a new nail will likely start growing in. All of my nails grew back normally and painlessly on their own within a few months at most if I remember correctly, and you would never know they weren't my original nails, now. Don't worry too much about it, it will most likely be okay.

My toenail is falling off what should I do?

Just let it fall off, it might look weird for a while but a new nail will grow out before you know it. Make sure to disinfect just in case it was an infection that made it fall off in the first place this way your new nail will come out healthy. And if you were to contact a doctor they'll probably tell you the same thing, they can't do anything to avoid it from falling off.

My toenail is falling off , what do i do?

I feel for ya!
I trapped mine in a car door, and it was black and swollen and disgusting...
I put a plaster on, as it was summer (sandal weatjer-*sigh*) to hide it from public view and to stop it getting caught of stuff, however the plaster ripped off- and , as I bet you guessed, the toenail with it. OUCH. That's all I'm saying, so best thing you can do, touch it as least possible as you can. Literally just leave it alone, but keep it clean so it doesn't go infected if it is particularly nasty... Good luck. Honestly, truly, feel for you babs :) <3
P.s. Almost forgot- it TOTALLY grows back.

My big toe nail is falling off! what do i do?

Ugh, I hate having this happen- it's happened 3 times to my tonails and 2 tims to my fingernails; all after eithering being hit with a hammer or having something heavy dropped on my feet. It took my toenails between 1 and 2 months to grom back and my findernails took about 3 to 6 weeks. If it isn't catching on your socks or causing any irritation, let it be; maybe bandage it. When it starts to get really loose, then you'll have to be careful because the skin underneath is VERY tender (it's always protected by the toenail) and you might want to get rid of it then. After the dead nail is gone, keep that toe clean, dry and bandaged; neosporin now and then won't hurt, either. The nail will grom back, but you want to be extra careful with thar toe until then because any little bump or stub on that under-nail skin can hurt like there's no tomorrow. If you want to see a podiatrist, you can, but there's really no need to as long as you use common sense in caring for it. Again, just be careful with it, keep it clean and bandaged. It'll be healed before ya know it :)

My toe nail is about to fall off?

It looks like it split horizontally all the way across and is hanging on on the left right side of my right big toe nail about halfway down. Should i just take it off(it doesnt hurt), should i super glue it? should i just wait until it falls off? What should i do when it falls off?

My entire toenail is falling off. What do I do?

i had my toenail removed after it was infected. it grows back in time. it seems like forever and looks funny as it regrows into its “normal state”. that is what makes our species special, we are resiliant! i had a car accident and had 4 brain operations when i was 17. i was 6′3″ and weighed 195 lbs. when i awoke from my coma, i weighed 120 lbs, lost 2″ in height and i was hungry. this is all in my published book, Reflections of Gratitude. i am married 37 years and love life even more than i could even imagine. LIFE IS GOOD!

How do you know if your toenail is going to fall off?

"The medical term used to describe a toenail that falls off isonychoptosis or onycholysis, which simply indicates a separation of the nail from the nail bed. This phenomenon is usually a result of a fungal infection or a traumatic injury. The nail tends to appear discolored initially, indicating a separation of the nail from the bed. This is followed by loosening of the nail, which can be quite painful, and may require first aid attention until medical treatment can be obtained. In serious cases, medical attention should be sought to prevent the spread of infection or permanent damage to the nail matrix (root).Separation of the nail from the nail bed can result in symptoms ranging from bleeding and discomfort to infection and possible disfigurement. In some cases the nail may appear to fall off for no apparent reason, but there is usually an underlying cause. What Are The Symptoms of Toenail Loss?Depending on the cause of the separation, symptoms may include:With an injury:PainCollection of blood under the nailDiscoloration of the nailBleedingLoosening of the nailWith an infection::Nail getting thicker, or even thinnerBrown, green or yellow discoloringPainSwellingRedness of the surrounding tissueFoul odorDischarge from under the nail" Toenail Falling Off - Causes, Treatment, and Prevention Tips And, Yeah!

My 2 years old boy's toe nail is falling off. What should I do ?

It will fall off on it's own. If it bothers him you can clip it, otherwise just try to leave it be. You can put a bandaid on it to keep it from snagging and pulling if it's still a little attached. He will be fine. Kids lose nails all the time. I just answered a question earlier today just like yours, and my own children have had it happen as well. It's really not a big deal. When it does come off, you may want to keep a bandaid on it for a couple days because the area can be a little tender. Hope this helps.
