My Two Year Old Has A Rash Around Her Mouth How Do I Get Rid Of It

Two year old and diaper rash?

She needs to have naked baby time. Tell your friend to give her a bath and after washing, make sure she rinses really well. Dry her and let her have floor time on a big sheet or have her sit on a towell (I don't know how old she is). Let her have lots of naked baby time. This with washing will help clear it up quickly. All the creams and crud just agitate it and could make the problem worse. Also, make sure she's not feeding her too much juice or acidic foods for awhile. Also, make sure her diaper is changed often, esp. with the warmer weather. These suggestions have helped us many times. Hope it helps your friend.

What is the rash around the mouth region caused by? How to prevent it? How to treat / cure it?

does anyone get a uniform circular reddish rash around their mouth?

does anyone know what it is and how to treat it?

it's not a shaving rash i don't think but may look similar. it's kind of like area-wise the mouth of Homer Simpson's except it's reddish/rash around the mouth, not brown color like around his mouth. and when i say circular, i don't mean a circular ring around the mouth, but the entire area around the mouth and chin is reddish. so you can say the area covers abit more than just the goatee area.

i heard it could be stress. but i would like a solid physiological explanation than just psychological.

but would stress cause your skin to flake and die/peel like that, like a break-out. the skin in that area would get extremely dry and lose its elasticity. then each little pieces turn into white flakes and break apart, so leaving the underneath fresh new skin exposed, which is red/pinkish in color, and the entire area around the mouth looks reddish.

i went to a dermatologist

What can cause a pimply rash around the mouth and bottom?

My 2 year old used to get this type of rash when he was teething as a baby. He doesn't have his 2nd set of molars yet but he has none of the typical signs of teething at this point. It looks like really tiny pimples all around his mouth and on his bottom. They don't itch or bother him at all. It's really bad today around his mouth and spread to the top of his nose (never been this bad) so I'm wondering if I should have him looked at.

What could this be?

Why do I have a rash around my mouth?

Perioral dermatitis usually appears as a rash of red bumps around the mouth and in the folds around the nose. The bumps may be scaly in appearance. The bumps can also appear in the area under the eyes, on the forehead, and on the chin. and prerioral dermatitis is a common skin rash that mainly affects young women. The rash affects the skin around the mouth. Use of a steroid cream on the face seems to trigger the condition in many cases. Treatment includes stopping the use of all creams and ointments to the face, including cosmetics and topical steroids.

What are these bumps and this rash in my mouth?

I'm a 16 year old girl. I'm not sexually active and I've only kissed one person and that was more than a year ago so that rules out STDs. 3 days ago the gums in my lower mouth began to hurt when I swished liquid around in my mouth or when I moved my chin up and down. I found I white, hard bump under my front bottom teeth, on the lower gum area. It looks a bit like a pimple. Right now it hurts just as much and hasn't gotten any smaller. I felt around with my tongue and the back of the roof of my mouth was slightly swollen and covered in small bumps. So, I took a flash light and looked in the mirror. On top of the white bump on my lower gums and the tiny bumps on the back of the roof of my mouth, I have an open sore on the inside of my cheek and a red rash in the middle of the front roof of my mouth. My gums on both my upper and lower part of my mouth have a white strip along them. I'm really nervous because I brush well and usually have healthy pink gums. What could possibly be wrong with my mouth?

My 8 month old baby has a very red rash on the roof of his mouth?

Sounds to me that it is thrush of the mouth. This is really very common and the way you can identify it is from the rashy patch as well as if you use a clean damp washcloth and swipe the area, it usually will have a little bit of brownish color or blood color. If you tried this, and got a brown spot on the cloth then it is most definitely thrush.

Thrush is such a common thing and I think most newborns develop it especially in the first few months. No one knows for sure what causes it. Just be sure to sterilize the bottles and nipples really well. If there are any small toys that the baby likes to put near the mouth, then just be sure that it is cleaned. You really can't do much in the way of preventing it but disinfecting things can help reduce the chances of it again in the future. My son had this when he was only a few weeks old and I ended up tossing out all the bottles and nipples and got everything new because I was worried that there was bacteria in the other ones. Also his sister was only a year older and had the habit of sometimes putting bottles in her mouth and that could have spread some germs.

But anyhow, all you have to do is sterilize the bottles, nipples, pacifiers, teething/small toys. Your pediatric doctor will probably give you suspension drops that are used to get rid of the thrush. It will take about two weeks or so to clear up with daily treatments. In some cases, it clears faster, but sometimes it isn't the case and takes longer. Just be sure that when you give him the drops, he isn't fed for about five minutes after. Because the drops have to coat his mouth and sit for at least a few minutes to be effective. Using your clean index finger, you can rub the syrup around mainly over the area that the rash is worst.

If the rash isn't too bad, then the baby won't have issues with feeding. But in your case, if he is fussing at bottle time, then you need to have the doctor attend to it as soon as you can get in. Its really hard when they are so little and so important for them to be able to feel better. Best regards and congrat's on your child's birth.

2-Year-Old Ranch Dressing Rash?

My son has the same problem with Ranch Dressing.
We also use the Hidden Valley Ranch.
We figure he has a small skin allergy to it.
As it never bothers him to actually eat it and the rash doesn't bother him either.
I'm going to talk to his Dr. about whether it is still safe to give it to him or not.
The rash never seems to stay to long and he loves it so I would hate to have to stop giving it to him. Although I would in a heartbeat if the Dr. tells me too.
But like your daughter my son doesn't show the same reaction to any other dairy products.
Why don't you try talking to her Dr. and finding out if you should stop giving it to her?
Good Luck

Why does my 18 month old son have a rash around his legs and feet?

Looks a lot like hives (urticaria) or heat rash (miliaria) to me but could also be some simple allergic reaction - babies are often very sensitive to washing detergents etc.But the easiest way to find out is to take him to a doctor who should easily be able to diagnose the reason.

Drool rash in a toddler?

My toddler has had what I think is a drool rash around his mouth and for a little over a week now. I think it is a drool rash because he just got two new teeth a couple of days ago and has been drooling quite a bit. No fever, no other symptoms other than a runny nose. He had this problem when he was very young and the pedi had me use a little hydrocortisone which worked wonders in a couple of days. We didn't have any more issues in about a year, but now it is back. The hydrocortisone isn't working now, and I have also tried Aquaphor and vaseline several times a day for a few days in a row. I am doing my best to keep it clean and dry. I don't think it is yeast because the inside of his mouth is totally normal. It isn't showing any signs of improvement. I called the doctors office and the nurse just said it was just due to teething and unless there is fever or other issues there is nothing they can do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When my dog gets exercise, he gets some foam around his mouth. And sometimes later on he'll be lying down and his breathing is very rapid. He's a coonhound, about two years old now. Could he have some kind of pulmonary defect?

Coonhounds are active dogs so lots of running around and strenuous exercise will cause rapid breathing. The oxygen he takes in while doing this will cause his saliva to foam up. This is usually nothing to worry about as after a drink and rest the foam should disappear and his breathing gradually return to normal. This article may help put your mind at rest it explains some of the causes of dogs breathing fast Why’s My Dog Breathing Fast? Shallow & Rapid Panting | Dogs Barn I hope this helps. If his breathing doesn't return to normal within a reasonable amount of time it might be worth mentioning it to your vet.
