My Wife And I Legally Switched My Son

How do you legally disown children?

I assume we’re talking about adult children here, because the process for legally separating oneself from one’s minor children is an entirely different matter. That being said, you disown your children by explicitly writing them out of your Last Will & Testament, thereby excluding them from any inheritance claims. That’s it, and that’s all.I double-checked with my wife - a family law attorney - about this one. From a strictly technical standpoint, the only default legal relationship that exists between adult children and their parents is one of inheritance rights. There is no other naturally recognized legal relationship between the two parties. There might be some additional status such as Power of Attorney, but only if that is already stipulated in advance, and that would obviously have to be changed by a parent seeking to disown a child. Otherwise you can’t just go to court and get a court order specifically saying that an adult child is no longer your child, because legally speaking they are in fact nobody’s “child” at this point, save for the aforementioned inheritance question. On the other hand, you can declare anybody you want to be your legal heir.As for cutting off communication and contact, you’re pretty much on your own for making that happen and in hoping that they’ll respect your wishes. If, however, you want to twist the knife a little further into your kids, I suppose you could seek a temporary restraining order against them as well, but in order to secure one of these you would have to able to provide evidence that their efforts - if any - at communicating with you either rises to the legal standard of harassment, or constitutes a form of threat against your well-being and safety.I am providing this counsel strictly as a layman and for informational purposes only. On a personal note, I feel that the act of disowning one’s children is probably one of the most morally reprehensible things a parent can do. A parent had better be pretty darned sure this is what they really want to do before they pull that switch, because vacillation on the question will only cause one’s children further and undue emotional torture.

Can I kick out legally my 16 yr old son ?

He is very aggressive verbally abusive teenager , he does what he wants , he threaten other people , refuse to go to school whenever he wants and always late to school.

He doesn't listen to me nor his father , if we say something he gets verbally abusive and threatens , he wont even help with house work he keeps telling us that it's our house not his and it's not his responsibility.

Today he became very verbally abusive and aggressive because my older daughter switched off internet for few hrs he started to attack me and her name calling us and threaten.

I don't know what to do he does what he wants if he doesn't get it he gets aggressive and blames us.

Is Switching Your First and Middle Name the Same As a Legal Name Change?

I would like to legally go by my middle name instead of the first. People know me ny my middle name and I as I am more keen to it than the first, I would like to be able to sign, apply, etc. with my middle name. Is that the same thing as a name change? Where can i go to get this legally handled? Thanks.

Parents: Would you be offended if your child legally changed their name when they turned 18?

I would love to change my name now that I am legally an adult. I'm not even really changing it - just swapping my first and middle names and changing a letter. My middle name is Catherine and first name is "Jessica". I would want to change it to Katherine "Jessica", and keep my last name of course. I'm just not sure how my mom would feel about it, I don't think she will feel too bad because I am keeping the names I was given - just changing it up a bit because I have always hated my first name (and she knows this).

So parents, would you be offended or hurt if your child changed the name you gave them?

Is it legal to give your child a different last name?

A2AYou can pretty much give your baby any random surname you want, in the U.S..In certain jurisdictions, in paternity cases, however, the father can petition to have the name changed on the birth certificate to his last name. There are very few jurisdictions where this is the case, but Tennessee is one of them.Barring court petitions to the contrary, you can pretty much give them anything that doesn’t offend local ordinance. California, for example, prohibits:a name that could affect the rights of another person, such as a celebritya curse worda racial sluran obscene or offensive wordsomething deliberately confusing, such as containing punctuation or a number — so no “Robert’); DROP TABLE Students—”xkcd: Exploits of a Mom…but those names may be fine in another state, and if you later move to California… well, they can’t really force your kid to change their name.

Can I legally change my daughter's last name without consent from her biological father?

My Lovely Wife and I looked into doing this for her first son when he was 8. He had never met his father and he was about to get a brother. I wanted to adopt him formally. We found the legal proceedures and court costs to adopt to be prohibitive. To save money yet achieve the same results we added my last name to the end of his name. This way he kept his bio fathers name as a middle name and had my name as his last name.It took a short visit to a lawyer and an appearance in court for a judge to ok the change.Result, for about $500 and a couple of forms he got my name.Adoption would have cost a couple thousand and require huge amounts of paper work and hoop jumping. We did this in Minnesota. Your mileage may vary.Good Luck!

My Son Is Under 18 and In A Comcast Contract. Is that legal? ?

Yes it is illegal a minor cannot sign a contract, but then he didn't.
You do have to keep paying since your husband did sign the contract and he was not a minor when he did that.

What you do is write Comcast and pose this question. "My son is a minor and you have switched my contract to his name does that mean you wish to void the contract? If so then you will be breaking the contract and so YOU will be at fault. Please put my husband's name or my name back on the account or I will let you try to collect the bill from my son, which as you know is impossible since MINORS can't sign contracts."

If you don't pay then Comcast will cancel you cable services and unless you are trying to get out of the contract that is not what you want to do.

Can I switch from a visiting visa to a Tier 2 in the UK?

No.To add a bit more, to satisfy Quora, in general you can’t switch from a visit visa to any other type of visa. You need to leave the country, either back to your own country or to another.

Can you spank your child with a switch?

I am pretty sure that it is illegal but you would have to check the laws in your area. However, as a parent I would not suggest it. The only reason to use an object to spank a child with is to make it hurt worse. The purpose of a spanking isn't to make it hurt as much as it is to give the child something to help them remember to follow the rules. That can be accomplished with just a few quick open handed swats to a completely clothed bottom.
