A malware like virus or incompatible software, so does broken hardware may lead to computer keeps restarting. Sometime computer runs to over heat, covered with too much dust, etc can also cause the issue. To fix your computer you can try the following steps.

1.Clean up the dust in your computer case, check power connections. Simply check the motherboads and power supply.

Check drivers update for the device, and download and install them to erase any bugs that might exist in your version. Should I keep my windows 8 laptop?

I recently bought a new laptop that has the windows 8 operating system on it. While I like the processing speed of the computer itself, I hate the windows 8 system... I don't have touch screen available on the operating system, so the user interface is basically wasted on me. I also hate the lack of a start button and while I have installed one from online, it slows the booting up of the PC horribly. Aside from that, I hate being prompted by the computer every time I try to get on with a password. Again, I have bypassed that, but the system is still complicated and makes doing anything I like to do a struggle to say the least...

My question is, should I take back this laptop I have? I had a windows 7 that I thought was going out, but found out it's working just fine. I LOVED my windows 7 and the computer I was using was everything I could have asked for. The problem is, I've had it for two years and have used it literally for maybe 12 hours a day, everyday since I got it. One of the primary reasons I invested into a new laptop was because I don't know how much longer my windows 7 computer will last. With that in mind, would taking back the windows 8 laptop be a good idea, or a bad one? I'm honestly torn about what I should do... I hate windows 8, but I don't know how long my windows 7 will last...

(windows xp) windows keep deselecting themselves?

I have an XP machine and I don't understand what you mean by "windows keep deselecting themselves".

I Googled those filenames and come up with nothing. So, at this point, I would be concerned with a virus or trojan that installed these files.

I looked for filenames beginning with HKI and they have been commonly associated with malware. That's not to say you have malware. HKI30050.exe doesn't show up as a filename anywhere on the interenet - that leads me to be suspicious of that filename and the others you listed.

I can only suggest running all of the malware, registry cleaners, and scanners you have to see what shows up. These files don't show up in my computer or registry file.

My windows 8 laptop keeps crashing?

did you upgrade? if so, you need to back up all your data to and external hard drive. and reinstall via clean install (erases EVERYTHING and installs from scratch) youll also need to make note of the computers manufacturer website and reinstall the drivers for that model pc. and run windows update till you get everything up to date again. had the same issue myself but it runs like a charm now :)

Should I upgrade to windows 8 on my laptop?

Windows 8's improvements aren't primarily for touch. Sheesh, it's like everyone's forgotten that 7 was touch enabled or something.

The upgrade is $40 if you download it from Windows.com onto a computer that has XP, Vista, or 7. When you install it'll give you the option to burn a DVD of the OS or put it on a USB flash drive. So you'll get a physical copy and save $30.

Windows 8 uses less resources than 7 plus the changes in DirectX 11.1 and WDDM 1.2 will improve battery life on laptops.

You have a touch pad on your laptop which will let you do all the gestures you could with a touch screen but after using it I can say that W8 works just fine with a keyboard and mouse.

Please, do not get hung up on the start screen or the whole Metro thing. The majority of improvements to the O.S. are for desktop users.

It boots and shuts down faster than 7, the file explorer has been improved, it's now possible to mount ISOs and VHD, and pause and resume move and copy operations. It had massive improvements to security. So many that many are already calling it more secure than 7. The new task manager is excellent and now even includes a start up tab so you don't have to go into msconfig anymore to kill programs that start at boot time.

Refresh is awesome. You basically create a custom disk image with all the programs you want installed on your computer. Then anytime your PC becomes unstable due to a virus, malware, or just accidentally selecting Paint to open EXE files, you can hit Refresh and your PC goes back to normal but keeps all your personal files intact.

Storage Spaces lets you connect a bunch of hard drives that act as a single storage pool. When you need more space you can simply connect another hard drive and 8 adds it to the pool.

Anywho, for $40 it's the cheapest Windows upgrade ever and comes with tons of features that have nothing to do with touch.

How can I fix my laptop mouse from freezing on windows 8?

I would try a different mouse and see if that freezes as well. If it works okay, then there might be a problem with your mouse your using. Please don't blame it on Win 8. I have used Win 8 for awhile and I think its a very good OS. But all OS's have issues in the beginning. Also, check your mouse settings.
Okay!

Yes, you can install windows 8 and 10 depending on your laptop's compatibility. So to install new Windows you have to clear or format your c drive. So before doing formatting take a backup of all the important files and documents you need. Take a copy of files present on your deaktop screen, downloads, documents and c drive as this files will get erased during installation of new Windows. Copy those files to a different drive as installing new Windows will not affect other drives in which the installation is not taking place or you can copy your files to an external harddrive.
