I use outlook 2007 with mail plus from yahoo. The window keeps popping up asking for password. Help?

Navsteve seems to have hit the nail on the head with his earlier response to Ipek A. Yahoo's mail service has been appalling over the past few days:

"I think you'll find there is a big problem at YAHOO at the moment (for the last few days) when internittently mail-servers for POP (incoming) and SMTP (Outgoing) mail being sent via Outlook or Outlook express - which has previously been working fine, suddenly continuously asks for network passwords - even if you input it and save the password mutliplt times it just keeps asking adn the send and receive in Outlook results in ERROR messages (i.e. messages not sent). Yahoo wll have to sort this out for us - it's very frustrating! SHort-term solution - sign on to a new e-mail address in Hotmail or Googlemail!"

Other streams have suggested that there has been a POP3 upgrade recently, which has triggered this mess. Very frustrating.

Why do i get many unknow mails in my yahoo?

its moslty caused by surfing while you are logged in to your email account.
It also comes from signing up for promotions, credit card companies, sweepstakes, online stores that you have accounts with etc. They all send spam mail out.

You can prevent it from cluttering your inbox by marking them as spam and being careful not to check the boxes when you see offers from online stores offering to email you "special promotions".

What's going on? A pop up notified me that I had new mail, but there was no new mail.?

This is definitely spam. I got 1 today. Only it came into my inbox. Popped up like a yahoo email with the envelope and all. I went and looked and I didn't reconize who it was so I spammed it. Spammers are learning how to get into our mail we have to be careful. You did check your bulk/spam bin right? Also look way down below all your email it could have gone to the bottom. I've had that happen before.

Password inconsistently rejected on mac. prompt says yahoo imap server is rejecting. imap.mail.yahoo.com?

I am operating on Macbook air Osx 10.7.5. Using Apple mail to sort my yahoo mail. Has worked fine for years. Last two months I am constantly told that yahoo imap server imap.mail.yahoo.com is rejecting my password. I re-enter password a few times and then it works for a few emails, then it asks again. I used trouble shooting, tried switching servers, settings, ports and even removed mail account completely and reinstalled. Still same problem. I am losing my mind.
